Travel Agent?? Pros and Cons, Help Please.

Ok what I’m after with this blog is the pros and cons of this opportunity.
No spam please, opinions would be appreciated.
Single mother of two small children, three years apart in age. Good education, and a wonderful people person, very good at what she does.
Here it is, offered a full time job by great friend to become a travel agent. Full training available on site, yet only commission work to begin with. 9 to 5 job, with chances to work from home in evenings and in the off season.
I’m weighing the sides at the moment, this isn’t as easy of a decision as one would think.
So any pros and cons would be welcome. Its sometimes easier to see them from another’s view.

Vesta, babe... i wish i could help, but i don't really know waht to say or think about it. Its a great job you're being offered and i know you need one, but you're also a mom with very young kids who need you to be there for them and a full time job would be hard.Posted 04-28-2009 at 01:07 AM by angel of music -

pros; loads of people go on holidays so commision will be good you have good people skills so will get on with your co workers a 9 to 5 is a nice time to work to
cons; what if the kids have a school appointment travel agents how are there holidays if the job doesnt work out you have 2 children to support but im sure youll be fine
good luck anywaysPosted 04-28-2009 at 01:12 AM by - ah i have many skills so i'm not worried about finding work but this just fell into my lap today and i shouldn't let it be on hold for long, then again the manager has been after me for about 8 years around here many times for appointments are now "after hours" so they run until about 9pm, for some.
