I love Autumn concerto (still ongoing) (that is if you like love stories) Rosy Business is also very good( it's about a good/strong woman making a place for herself in a man's world) Chinese Paladin was really good but but sad. The four is worth watching also. I like stories about people overcoming adversity to become better people and help society in the process. I hope you see something you may like in this selection I totally enjoyed all of them

![]() I am guessing since you have watched the *Battle of Red Cliff* so you must have already watched *Three Kingdoms: Resurrection Of The Dragon* If you have not then watch it. Sammo Hung is good as always but Andy Lau steals the show, he is one heck of an actor, (he is also one of the 4 contopop heavyweight). *The Warlords* The story revolves around three brother.....let me not give too much away. Jet Li is one of the brothers including Andy Lau too so just watch it. *An Empress and the Warriors* Set in ancient China, starring Kelly Chen, wow she is beautiful. ![]() Also starring Leon Lai (another one of the 4 cantopop heavyweight) and martial arts star Donnie Yen. *Hero* Jet Li is the lead, the brilliantly stunning visuals and colours are captivating, the choreographed fight scenes resembles more like a poetry to me. *Curse of the Golden Flower* One of the most expensive chinese film at the time when it was released in 2006. starring Chow Yun-Fat, Gong Li and Jay Chou the lead actor from the movie *Initial D*. *Musa* A historical epic Korean movie starring Jung Woo-sung the lead actor from the movie *A moment to remember*. Hmm movies along the line of BATTLE OF RED CLIFF should be covered by now. As for the movies similar to CROUCHING TIGER. The only movie which I can think of that can come near the beautifully choreographed fight scenes especially the fight scenes on bamboo and breathtaking visuals is the movie *House Of Flying Daggers* What a beautiful movie enough said! Some pure martial arts hand to hand, fist for fist movies:- *Ong bak 1* *Ong bak 2* Both Thailand movie starring Tony Jaa, some of the fight scenes and acrobatics performed by Tony Jaa can be at best described as speechless. *Flash Point* A hong kong martial arts action film starring Donnie Yen, this guy can fight good. *Fighter in the Wind* This is one wild Korean kung fu movie. Have you ever seen a martial artist killing a fully grown bull with a hand chop? if you have not seen one then watch this movie. I love this movie. It is based on the Japanese comic book Karate Baka Ichidai. ![]() If you like the new generation modern Kung fu movies with special effects try this, *Dragon Tiger Gate* One of the best there is in this category. I hope these movies will cover your needs. | |

Mulan - the live action one. Very good drama/adventure/ romance type movie. Doesn't follow too closely to the Disney version.

The best one I've seen lately is a Vietnamese one called "Rebel." It's about an agent for the French Colonial government who becomes sympathetic to the rebel cause. The star of the movie, Johnny Nguyen is incredible and can do 360 degree flying kicks like those that made Jet Li famous in his youth. Also stars Dustin Nguyen, who starred in the NBC series "21 Jumpstreet" (with Johnny Depp) in the '80's. One of my favorites from 2002 is "Seven Swords." The director, Liu Chia Liang, was my favorite actor about 30 years ago and also has a leading role in the movie. Besides being a great actor, Liu is a real martial artist, decendant from a line of Hung Gar masters. Newly married to a young wife, I guess Liu wanted to demonstrate to her that he still "had what it takes." Gordon Liu of Kill Bill is his half brother. You might also like "The Bankquet," starring Zhang Zhiyi, the girl in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and "House of Flying Daggers." She plays an girl who marries the father of the man she loves (who is the emporer) and becomes corrupt. |

Baka-Sama gets points for mentioning Flash Point and Ong Bak 2, but I'd like to think of myself as the Hong Kong Cinema go-to guy on here... Any Donnie Yen movie is safe territory if you're looking for good action; he's hands down, the best martial artist/actor in the business right now...some recommendations are: Flash Point Sha Po Lang (aka Kill Zone) Ip Man (about Bruce Lee's sifu, the man who pioneered Wing Chun style martial arts...REALLY good) Ip Man 2 (I prefer the first one to this, but it's still pretty good; Sammo Hung as addition to the cast makes it instant win) The Iron Monkey Legend of the Wolf Legend of the Red Dragon Bodyguards and Assassins (not much Donnie Yen action here, but still a VERY good movie) The Warlords Also, you may want to pay Jacky Wu Jing some attention...he's a young up and comer with a MOUNTAIN of talent as well...some recommendations here are: The Legendary Assassin Sha Po Lang (aka Killzone, Jacky Wu is the bad guy in all white) Fatal Contact (a VERY good underground fighting type movie, Wu really shows off his stuff) Drunken Monkey (sequel to the classic Shaw Brothers film, Mad Monkey Kung Fu)... More great movies with kung fu action: Chocolate: A movie about an autistic child who learns kung fu (just by watching it) in order to collect money from her mother's debtors so that she can afford medical treatment...REALLY good movie, starring Jeeja Yanin, another up and coming martial artist with some SKILLZZZZZ!!! (P.S. she's like, 26 lol)... Raging Phoenix: I'm only recommending this because it stars Jeeja...I still haven't seen watched it yet, but from what I've heard, it's also really good... Shinobi-Heart Under Blade: VERY good movie about the conflict between two rival shinobi clans with superhuman powers that reside in the mountains...it's about as close to a Naruto live action movie as you'll get (the guy that uses his hair as a weapon reminded me of Sasuke for some reason)... True Legend: VERY very good movie, marking the return of Vincent Zhao in a movie acting role...about a retired Qing court warrior who's betrayed by his adopted brother...the third act is a little too patriotic and derivative, but the movie is golden, nonetheless...has that Shaw Brother's style to it... I wasn;t too thrilled with "Shinobi-Heart Under Blade" though. I think they over did the special effects and... they did not follow the original storyline.

hey, I have just finished watching a number of Kdramas, most recent being Green Rose. And I have to say I really enjoyed it. This type of storyline/genre is what i enjoy most. Are there any more dramas which have this similar storyline, well not exactly storyline, but like where a main character disappears, reappears as someone else (preferably powerful and rich), then reveals themselves, after achieving their goal, and gets the girl back again. Any like that? I know All In has a similar storyline like that as well, I just really enjoy those types of dramas. Also, any type of storyline like All In as well, I would enjoy any type of drama (country of origin, etc.) like this, as long as it has something along these lines or something similar. I watch all kinds of dramas, but these are the ones I am into right now, ones with this type of similarities in story. thx for all the help |

Just finished watching the K-drama Chuno. I don't know what genre you were referring to, but it's a traditional Korean martial arts type of drama where the main character starts off as a young master who falls lin love with a slave who works for his family. They are separated and he becomes a vicious slave hunter and she, a noblewoman. Not so much a love story as a very well written epic about man's struggle to change the world.
