|  [Request] Darma: Journey to the West 1996-1998
Thank you so much for all the work you do to bring us these shows! I would love love love if you could put up "Xi You Ji/Journey to the West" which was the classic Monkey King serial put out by CCTV (I think it was 1996-98?). It has ****ey Cheung and Benny Cheung playing the role of Sun Wu Kong/Monkey King in two different seasons (I think the second season was called Journey to the West II, not totally sure on that though). It is NOT the same as the Monkey King: Quest for the Sutras TV show that you already have up on dramacrazy that also has ****ey Cheung in the same role. The Monkey King you have up is the "romantic" retelling from 2002. The original one, Xi You Ji, is closer to the book and has more action and comedy. English subs over Mandarin audio, can I request that? It would also be kind of cool if you made a small note on each c-drama summery if it is Mandarin or Cantonese (I am trying to learn Mandarin, but sometimes I watch something in Canto thinking it is Man and end up confusing myself). Again - you guys are AWESOME! THANK YOU FOR THE ANIME AND DRAMA! |

Hmm if im not mistaken their are two Journey to the West, made in two separate years. Can you tell me which one you are requesting? I think they were both made in 2000+

yeah i love dickey cheung. I believe he also played in a few hong kong movies if i got the right Actor Fixed the censorship settings

Here is one more link that has info on the series: www .vbtutor.net/Xiyouji/relatedfilms.htm (I had to put a few spaces between the www and the rest of the address, just omit those) Most of the page is about other retellings of Journey to the West but If you scroll halfway down the page there is a description under the heading "Xi You Ji a.k.a. Journey to the West (starring Dicky Cheung)" which is the series that is/was such a huge hit. |
