CLAMP Fans official thread

I'm new to the whole creating social-groups part of AC, but I've started a CLAMP fans group in which everything CLAMP will be discussed. (CLAMP being the mangaka group that created Cardcaptor Sakura, Tsubasa Chronicle, xxxHolc, et cetera).

I do love clamp :O though I've only seen cardcaptor sakura, tsubasa and I couldn't find XXXholic in non megavideo *searches for it again online*
But they're awesome, their drawing style, plot and characters are one of my favourites ever :O

Cardcaptor Sakura is so different from Tsubasa, too. I think that's what makes clamp so timeless. They go to more than one genre. Thanks again for joining. When more members join *crosses fingers* I'll open an official discussion within the group.

Yeahh, none of their works are really similar :O just the characters and all :O
I'm currently getting XXXholic :'D then I'll read the manga too :O
I want to watch / read X as well, but apparently that's stopped due to well.. political reasons or something

Ah, not so much political, but this is the reason apparently:
"X started serialization in Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Asuka on May 1992. Publishing the series proved troublesome on account of its subject matter. As the series portrays earthquakes as a sign of the end times, the motif became a point of contention after the Great Hanshin earthquake of 1995. Following letters from concerned readers, the manga was temporarily pulled from Kadokawa's magazine. After the murder of eleven year old Jun Hase in 1997, the attention shifted to X's gruesome imagery and the series was pulled once again.[9][10]

Serialization stopped in March 2003.[9] The editors of Monthly Asuka were concerned with the increasingly violent stories and, rather than censoring themselves, the artists opted for a hiatus. Columnist John Oppliger, however, is of the persuasion the members of Clamp do not have a clear ending in mind and, contractual obligations notwithstanding, the rumored dispute should not impede publishing the remaining chapters"

Huh. Sounds like silly mass hysteria to me. "Oh, since what they're writing might happen in the future, let's tell them to stop." Thanks a bunch for explaining that!! I admire them for saying they won't change the story, but it sure is killer for us fans!

I still have to watch / read it, which is better? usually the manga is better.
But yeah it is, it's a shame when something gets cancelled due to those sorts of reasons

I've only started to watch/read it, so I can't give you a strong opinion on which is better. The art is breathtaking, of course, but I know the anime has an end, whereas the manga does not.
