Default A Day To Remember [fanfic from Midnight Sun of the Twilight series]

yes, i know, wrong title, its supposed to be Breaking Dawn..but my stupid behind was reading about Midnight Sun while i was posting and so the title mix up...srry...but enjoy ne way...the story has three parts: the banquet, the ceremony, and the wedding night.

Part 1: The Beginning

Laughter floated up around her, surrounding her in the merriment and joy of the moment. Everyone was here today, one of the best days of her life. In just a few short hours, she would marry the love of her life, and everyone was here to celebrate it. Bella looked around her and smiled as she surrounded by those she loved and those she cared for. Only a small trace a melancholy crept over her as she realized she would soon have to be leaving them all behind.

It was all actually easy to explain away when anyone ever asked her. She simply told them that she would be living with her in-laws after the wedding. Everyone had accepted her explanation fairly easy except for Charlie and Renee. It had taken a bit more convincing for them. Once she had convinced them that she was only moving away to go to a college that she and her soon-to-be-husband had both been accepted to.

Sure that was not the whole story, but that was all the reason that anyone need to be told. No one needed to know that her family-to-be were all vampires or that her beloved was over a century old, or that she was about to join them in the undead-hood. No, they did not need to be told all of that. It would only case them undue worry and hurt or worse, it would lead them to dislike her and her new family. Like Jacob.

Bella let out a low sigh as she thought about her old friend. A little over a year ago, Edward had thought it would be best for her if he were to leave. After leaving her sitting in the middle of the woods and asking her not to do anything crazy, he and the rest of his family packed up and were gone before the hour was out.

Instead of listening to him though she had done the exact opposite. After months of stumbling around like a zombie and ignoring her friends, she had gone out and bought a set of motorcycles. Sure they had been broke down and Charlie would go crazy at the thought of her on one. But she had bought them anyways and taken them to the only person she knew could fix them and keep them a secret. Plus she could always give him the second motorcycle as a way of repayment.

So she had taken them to her friend, Jacob Black. They had many fun encounters on the bikes and she had reveled in the danger of riding at high speeds. At that time she had not really cared about her own life. She had did everything that she could to put herself in danger, because it seemed to be the only way she could hear his voice again. At one point during their friendship though, Jacob started to change and tried to push her away. Eventually, she figured out that it was because he was a born werewolf. Once that obstacle was overcome, she and Jacob were best friends again.

Charlie was ecstatic with this since he had never like Bella’s original boyfriend. But then things changed again. One day, while Jacob had gone out running with his pack, Bella decided to try cliff diving. This turned out not to be a good idea. While under the water, she had seen a flash of red, like hair and became afraid because she believed it was the red haired vampire, Victoria, who was out to get her. At the same time though, his sister had a vision.

After having dived off the cliff, that was where the vision had ended and they all assumed Bella had ended her life instead of living on without her beloved. But they had been wrong. Only two things could cause a vision to end in blackness, and that was either the death of the said person, or the involvement of the vampire’s enemy, the werewolf.

At the last moment, just as she dove in, Jacob and a few of his pack had shown up. After seeing that she was not going to surface Jacob jumped in after her, causing the vision to end, and successfully pulled Bella out of the water. But her beloved did not know this.

After receiving word that a vision concerning her had ended in blackness, he had assumed she was dead and decided it was time for his own existence to end. So, he had done the only thing left to him. He went for the top form of vampire suicide. There is one big rule that a vampire must always follow: a vampire cannot expose their existence as a vampire. This meant that they could not be in direct sunlight, because it would cause them to shine unnaturally, and they could not use any of their vampire abilities or feed while in public view.

Her beloved had decided to go to a festival spot, where vampires where the ones being celebrated, and was getting ready to step into the direct sunlight and expose himself for what he was. Luckily for her though, her beloved’s sister had shown up on her door step and taken her to Volterra, Italy, where he was. Sadly, the ancient vampires, the Volturi, had already noticed what he was trying to do. So even though she had managed to keep him from exposure, he was still taken into custody. Bella, her beloved, and his sister all went to meet with the Volturi.

While there, the Volturi discovered that Bella had been in constant exposure to vampires, and none had yet tried to turn her, more so her beloved since her blood was like an aphrodisiac and always called to him. Surprised, they decided to call for a deal. If, by the end of the following year, Bella had not been turned, that the Volturi would be the ones to turn her, her beloved would be killed, and his family would be forced to move.

Unwillingly, her beloved had agreed.

She returned to her home after disappearing for three days and Jacob discovered what she had done. After ending their friendship, he returned her bikes while Charlie was present, earning her a permanent grounding and limited visits from her beloved. What Charlie had not known though was that her beloved snuck into her room every night and watched her as she slept, seeing as to how as a vampire he could not sleep.

Since then, Charlie had begun to accept her beloved and his family, and Renee was overjoyed that her daughter was going to be happy. Many of her friends were happy for her, and her beloved’s family adored her and already accepted her as family.

“What are you thinking about, my love?” asked a husky voice from behind her.

Bella smiled widely as she turned around to meet the person the voice belonged to. The first thing that grabbed her attention was his butterscotch eyes that were locked onto hers, then she took in his perfect smile and white skin. She knew that if she were to reach out and touch him, that he would be cool and hard as stone, but she did not care. He was her beloved and her soon-to-be-husband, Edward Cullen. Smiling wider, she wrapped her arms around his neck and rose on her tiptoes to place a gentle kiss onto his lips. Her lips were warm a supple against his cool and hard, but she still reveled in the feel of the difference. Anyone with blood rushing though them could give her a warm kiss that meant nothing to her, but only Edward could give her a cold kiss that meant everything.

He slowly returned her smile as he wrapped his arms around her waist. Looking up at him, into his butterscotch eyes, she teased him. “You still can’t read my mind can you?” His smile stayed in place and Bella felt a wave of giddiness grip her. When a human became vampire, he or she retained their most powerful human ability. Where one of his sister’s abilities was to see the future, Edward’s ability was read everyone’s minds. But where he could read another vampire or the mind of a werewolf, Bella was a complete blank spot to him.

Letting out a small giggle, she rose onto her tiptoes and kissed him again. “Don’t worry, love. I was only thinking about what has happened.” Returning her grin, Edward dropped a kiss onto her forehead, “Hopefully happy thoughts.”

She let out a low sigh as she turned her head and let it rest on his shoulder. “I was actually thinking about after you had left.” She felt Edward stiffen but continued on. “I was like a zombie for the longest, and the only thing that came even close to bringing me back was Jacob’s friendship.”

“What are you saying, my love?”

“I don’t really know. I guess I just wish he could be there. You know, at our wedding. He was like my best friend those months you were gone. I just wish he could be here and see how happy I’ve become.”

She knew that she should not have spoken about him, but Edward would have just picked at her until she had. She really did miss having Jacob as a friend, but his pack’s rule was that they could not be friends with a vampire or a potential vampire like her. It had saddened her when Jacob had quit visiting, and she thought she was happy know that Edward and the rest of the Cullens were back, but she still missed having her best friend.

It was not long before Edward pulled back, dropping another kiss on her brow. His smile was still in place as he looked down at her and Bella could not help the thread of unease that went through her. She knew he was about to do something. “Edward, what are you planning to do?” He chuckled lightly as he caught the eyes of each of his family members. There was a silent message in them, and Bella could not help but wish that she could read his mind.

Letting out a huff of air, she eyed him down and stepped closer, but before she could do or say anything, he was gone. Another huff of air was dispelled and she silently screamed and cursed him for his vampire speed. Before she was through cussing him though, she felt a tide of ease surround her. Ignoring it, she turned until she found another set of butterscotch eyes watching her. She looked the man in the eyes and tried to summon as much anger as she could and let out a silent, harsh whisper that she knew only he and the other Cullens could hear using their vampire hearing. “I swear if you know what he is up to, you better tell me now.” The man replied with a repressed shrug before he smiled and turned away.

Huffing again, she turned and tried to catch the eyes of each of the Cullens, but they all managed to avoid her gaze. Wanting to cry out her anger, Bella silently cursed each of the Cullens and their blasted sense of humor. She knew Edward was up to something, and they all knew it. Silently, she slipped outside and stared up at the sky. Again, she began to curse the Cullens, all seven of them. From Edward to his mother and father, to each of his brothers and sisters. All of them were adopted of course, since vampires could not reproduce in the normal sense, but they still acted like a family, and all seven of them were what are called vegetarians, meaning they only feed on animal blood. Though it was very hard on Edward’s oldest brother, Jasper Hale.

It was because of him that Edward and his family had ultimately left. It was the night of her birthday when everything had gone wrong. After receiving a paper cut, Bella’s blood had slowly seeped out and Jasper had went into a frenzy trying to get her. And it was the next day that the Cullen’s had packed up and left. Bella understood why Jasper was the way he was though, and could not even begin to blame him. Before he had been turned, the vampires who captured him used him as a feeding toy and so had repeatedly bit him and fed off of him. Now, the only thing he wore were long sleeve shirts and sweaters. Anything else, and the bite marks would show. Bella herself had only seen them once, and even then she did not like what she had seen. Up and down both arms were what resembled a knitted pattern, but what were indeed hundreds of bite and feeding marks. Even after all of this though, he was still the one of the bunch who had the ability to manipulate emotions and settle things into a calm atmosphere.

After him would have to be his wife Alice, who could see the future in visions. No one really knew the story behind her turning, and she remembered none of it. Over a year ago though, they had gotten something of a hint, and Bella still had the crescent scar as a reminder. A few months prior to this event though, a group of vampire had come through and one had instantly taken a liking to the call of Bella’s blood. And so, after a while, and ignoring the claim the Cullens had on her, had tricked her into leaving her home and go to where she had grown up with Renee. Fearing for her mother, she was blind to everything else until she ran into the vampire. James was his name. It turned out that he had lured her by using an old family video, but once he had her, he had her. Gloating, he carried on about having gotten her from Cullens, and hinted at knowing what happened to Alice.

Foolishly, she had tried fighting back but only succeeded in getting bitten before being slammed into a wall and seriously injured. Luckily for her though, Alice had received a vision and she, Jasper, and Edward had arrived just as she was thrown into the wall of mirrors and knocked unconscious. Quickly, Edward defeated James and Alice woke Bella up. Instantly, she had been surrounded in a world of pain. At first everyone thought it was because of the knocking around she had taken, but then they noticed the bite on her hand. Jasper worked on disposing of James while Alice sat down and watched the video that James had made of his encounter with Bella. Meanwhile, Edward sat with Bella and tried everything he could to draw the vampire venom out of her, sucking out the poisoned blood and spitting it out.

Eventually, she had recovered and was taken to a hospital, where she laughingly explained it all away as having fell down a big stairway, which was easily believable due to her constant bad luck and clumsiness that always put her in the position of needing saving.

After Alice though, it was a toss up. There was still Emmett, who had super strength, his wife many times over, Rosalie, whose abilities were still unknown other than her beauty, her intense dislike of Bella’s decision, is thought to be Jasper’s twin sister, and was originally turned to be Edward’s companion though it never happened. And finally in last place would be their adopted parents, Esme Cullen who was passionate about many things, and Dr. Carlisle Cullen who was very compassionate and serves as a doctor in town, therefore making him the most resistant to human blood. Though the most susceptible to her blood would always be Edward.

Sighing again, Bella continued to look up at the sky. It was getting to be late night and the stars were just beginning to show through the clouds. That was one thing that Forks, Washington had going for it, Bella mused. It was always either cloudy, rainy, or snowing. That was why it was such a perfect place for a vampire family to live, there was rarely any sunlight. And even when there was, the Cullens would simply call in sick and use the time to go up and hunt wild animals.

She smiled sadly at the thought of never returning here again, but she easily eased the pain by reminding herself that she would still be with her beloved. Turning, she headed back into the banquet and caught each of the Cullens’ eyes were she silently waved goodnight before finding her parents and telling them she was heading home. Charlie replied with a small smile and nod and Renee dropped a kiss on her forehead before turning back to her new husband, Phil. Used to this from her mother, Bella accepted the kiss and moved on to head for her truck where she quickly climbed in, started it up, and headed home.

In an almost zombie-like trance, she followed all of the winding roads until she reached her house. She climbed out of the truck silently and stood, holding onto the door while she looked up at the house she stayed at with Charlie. A wave nostalgia washed over her as she realized this would be her last night here. All of her things were already packed up and moved to the Cullen’s house, where she had unpacked them into Edward’s room. After the wedding reception tomorrow, she and the rest of the Cullens were supposed to leave and head up north, towards Canada. But that was just what the town had been told. In fact, she and Edward were not going to be heading out until another week, while the other Cullen’s would be leaving as soon as the ceremony itself was over.

Smiling, Bella remembered how long it had convinced Edward to agree with her. Alice had automatically sided with her and convinced everyone else to too, but Edward had taken a bit longer. He had wanted to get out of town as quickly as possible so that when it was time to turn her at the end of the week, she would be as far from her family and friends as possible. Eventually, she had talked him into staying behind and celebrating their honeymoon at his house, and in return she would wait for another month to be turned, which would put the changing at a week before the Volturi’s deadline.

In the end, everyone was happy. They would get a chance to better prepare for her change, and she would be given more of an opportunity to change her mind about the change. For them, even if it was against the Volturi’s wishes, it was still ultimately her decision. And if she happened to choose to stay as a human, they would protect her with their own lives. While Bella found this sweet and an unnecessary measure, she assured them that she would not change her mind. She loved Edward, he loved her, and she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. It was not the way Edward wanted it to happen, but he did not want to watch her die later in life either.

Smiling now, Bella made her way into the house and went through her nightly routine before going into her room. Surprised not to find Edward waiting for her, she went over and made sure the window was open before looking out of it. “Weird, normally he would be here by now. I wonder what he is doing?” Sighing again, and trying to hide her worry, she silently turned and crawled into bed, her thoughts still on Edward and what he could be doing.

~ * ~

Slowly, she woke to the sounds of morning, a bird somewhere outside of her window, the sound of the wind whistling through the trees surrounding her house, and the moans and groans of an old pipe system as someone tried to coax them into an early morning shower. Next came the warm feeling that seemed to surround her inside and out that left her feeling relaxed and so well loved. Then there was the cold wall of her back, a chill along the side of her neck and face, and the cold bands that were wrapped around her midsection.

Bella let out a low yawn and stretched out her tired muscles with a contented smile on her face. Turning her head slightly, she gazed into Edward’s butterscotch gaze as he returned with his own dazzling smile that still managed to leave her breathless. Silently, she snuggled down into his embrace again and smiled wider as he wrapped his arms more securely around her. Her own arms came up and wrapped themselves over his and she basked in the warmth of her love.

Even though he no longer breathed in air, ate human foods, or generated heat like a normal being, she still loved him. She loved him with all of her might, and today she would be marrying him, and in just one more week, she would be joining him as one of the undead. In one more week she would be a vampire, and would no longer be allowed to visit her family, and would never be allowed to see Jacob or the others in his pack.

But she would still have Edward. Her beloved. Her soulmate for life.

They continued to lay like that for several moments, their bodies spooned together, before the sounds of pipes quieted, only to be followed by silent footfalls. Sighing, Bella turned over and nuzzled her face into Edward’s cold chest and let out a mournful sigh. “Renee and Charlie are going to be coming in soon.” Edward silently nodded his head. “This means you have to leave soon, doesn’t it?” She could tell he was smirking without even looking up. It was in his voice as he reached up to run a hand through her silky brown tresses. “Yes, love. But it will only be for a short while. We still need to get ready for the ceremony.”

Bella let out a low groan before snuggling deeper into his embrace and whined softly, “Why did we set it for the morning?” Edward’s chest jumped slightly at his silent chuckle. She felt as he reached up to affectionately flick her nose. “Because you wanted to have it early morning.” She groaned in response and lightly hit him. “You could have convinced me otherwise.”

“But I did not want to deprive you of your choice.”

Bella looked up to him and stuck her tongue out at him. Smiling again, she put her head back down and continued to stare at his chest. It was bare and shone out a bright white against her blue coverings and she could not but help to laugh at the contrast of his white chest to the black of his pants. Edward calmly encircled her with his arms and he held her close. Guessing what he was about to ask, she quickly answered. “I was just thinking about how you’re already wearing white and black. You’re practically already ready for the ceremony.”

Looking down at himself, Edward noticed the same thing and started to chuckle. “Yes, but I do not think it would be appropriate wear for a wedding.” His smile stayed in place and he looked down at her, his expressions now shuddered so that she could not read them. Slowly, his gaze went from her to her door and Bella knew that it was time for reality. It was so easy to forget about the world while in his arms and staring into his butterscotch eyes. “Renee, Phil, and Charlie are on their way?”

Mutely, she sat up and stretched again. Reaching up towards the ceiling, one hand bending down to cover a yawn, she ignored her shirt as it rode up to reveal a line of her midriff. Edward quickly diverted his eyes from the sight and slowly sat up before standing before her. Smiling sadly, Bella looked up at him and let her arms drop down to rest on the bed on wither side of her. Edward returned the smile before placing a gentle hand on her cheek. She shivered slightly at the touch as the cool of his hand came into contact with the warmth of her cheek, but it was a good shiver of anticipation that turned her smile into a happy one. Guessing the same thing, Edward gave her his sexy grin and leaned down to drop a kiss on her forehead. “I’ll see you at the ceremony.” He leaned farther down and dropped a more lingering kiss and then he was gone in a breeze of wind.

Bella still had a dazed look on her face when all three of her parents entered her room only seconds later. Charlie and Phil both gave her a quick look over and gave a few mumbled congratulations before they each managed to give her a quick awkward kiss on the cheek and made hasty exits. Renee just gave her a knowing look as she set a pile of boxes down on the floor by the closet. “Thinking of Edward again?” Blushing slightly, and hoping her mother did not know that Edward practically lived there with them, at night at least, Bella nodded her head. “Just thinking about how I can’t wait to see him.”

Walking over, Renee silently sat down beside her and her smile changed to wistfulness. “Can’t stand to be away for minute, can you? That’s the way it should be. But you’ll just have to wait for the ceremony. It’s not good luck for the groom to see his bride before the ceremony on the day of their wedding.” Bella smiled up at her as she got up and left. She was still smiling as she thought about how her and Edward were no ordinary couple and that they already had their own fair share of bad luck. With them though, nothing as simple as the wrong cake or mixed sitting arrangements would mess up their big day. No, with them it would be more like a pack of wild dogs, a delusion revenge-craved maniac who was out for their blood, or the Volturi decide to renege on their part and show up almost two months early.

Last time she had talked to Jacob, he had made no secret that he was against her becoming a vampire and would try anything to save her. Then there was still Victoria. Not too long after Edward had left, and shortly before the cliff diving incident and a few days before Bella figured out Jacob’s secret, Victoria had come back for her. She had gone to her and Edward’s special meadow, where he had first revealed his reaction to sunlight, where they had shown her how to play lightning ball, and where they had first run into James and Victoria and a few other vampire.

Bella had gone their in hopes of calming down or some other thing, when Victoria had shown up wanting to claim revenge. In her eyes, it was fair exchange. Since Bella’s mate, Edward, had killed Victoria’s mate, James, she thought she could get even by killing Edward’s mate. As far as she was concerned, vampires mated forever. What she did not know at the time was that Edward had already left. Luckily though, Jacob had shown up in time, in wolf form, to chase Victoria off.

And again, shortly after Edward’s return, Victoria had come back with more than enough backup. In order to keep the town safe, the Cullens and the werewolves were able to form a temporary alliance and together they met the enemy forces head on and destroyed them. Shortly after that, once the werewolves were gone, the Volturi had shown and while handling their business and dealing with those who had surrendered, they decided to check up on their arrangement between themselves and the Cullens. Quickly, the Cullens had assured them that the change would happen, and promised that Edward would be the one to handle the change.

With her luck, another vampire would show up and claim that Edward had killed their mat in the battle and would try to get revenge during the wedding. If not that, then a Volturi would show up and kidnap her in order to change her early on and keep her for themselves. Bella shuddered at this last thought as she thought back to her first meeting with them.

Suddenly, she was pulled from her thoughts as she felt a cold hand on her brow, followed by a soft, lyrical voice. “Bella, are you alright? You look whiter than me.”

Snapping out of her thoughts, she quickly looked around and noticed a petit girl infront of her who had spiky black hair and pale white skin. Her lips were in a thin and pretty smile adorned by a light pink lip gloss and her butterscotch eyes were made more noticeable by the soft white and gold eye shadow that would have looked bizarre on anyone else. But the most noticeable thing was white dress that was tight in the bodice, down to the elbows where a small gold ribbon tied it off above the elbows before a sheer cloth floated down to her lower forearm. There were gold ribbons outcropping the bodice at the neckline and crisscrossed across the front and backs, with a small pink rose at each intersection of gold. From the waist, the skirt flowed down to mid-calf in a princess-style skirt with several layers of tapered material trimmed in gold ribbon.

Smiling brightly, Bella stood and quickly crossed to the doorway and into the girl’s open arms to give her a quick hug. “You look like a princess, Alice.” Pulling back, she noticed the girl’s quiet pout and slowly backed away. Silently, Alice followed her in and absently shut the door. “But you do not. Why not? You look like one of those girls on the front of them magazines I see in stores, where the girls are in their swimsuits and underwear. Why?”

Blushing slightly, Bella looked down at her attire and gave Alice a questioning look. She had stopped wearing her usual pajamas a few months ago, havin decided to opt for a simple tank top and her bikini cut underwear. She was more comfortable while in this muggy summer heat, and Edward never complained about it. And her simply hung about her now, going down o past her waist since she decided to let it grow as long as it would grow.

“Why do they dress the way the do, or why am I dressed the way I am?”

Grinning, Alice walked over and with a graceful swipe of her hands, her skirt moved to allow her to sit gracefully on Bella’s bed with her legs crossed Indian style. “You of course, I know why they are dressed that way.” Bella returned her smile and shrugged her shoulders. “I just woke up a short time ago and haven’t started to get ready.”

Cocking her head to the side, Alice gave her another questioning look. “But Edward was home three hors ago, and the wedding is only two more away.” Bella’s jaw dropped and she felt her pulse quicken in both excitement and anxiety. That meant she had been spaced out for two and a half hours. And the way she timed it, it would take her three or four to get ready and dressed in Charlie’s grandmother’s dress. There were more than three hundred buttons in the back alone, not to mention the ones on the sleeves and the boots that came with it.

As if reading her thoughts, Alice smiled wider and pointed towards the pile of boxes. “I brought them over this morning. Renee, me, and the others thought the dress needing some changes, so we came up with some ideas and here it is. Then on the way here I stopped to pick up a few more things, and Rosalie helped.” To say she was shocked would have been an understatement. Turning, Bella looked fully at Alice. Alice just smiled and sat Bella back down as she pulled out a case of make-up. “She already left for the field. Did you ever think to see the day when a vampire would b married by a priest? Or the day that said vampire would enter a church to get the priest?” Bella smiled absently at Alice’s chatter and sat patiently as she went to work.

Default Re: A Day To Remember [fanfic from Midnight Sun of the Twilight series]

Part 2: The Day of All Days

It was finally time. In only a matter of minutes, she would officially be Isabella Marie Swan Cullen and then she would have only one more month to wait before she would be his mate for all of eternity. Smiling to herself, Bella peeked around the sheet that hung between two trees to block her from view and looked out over the crowd of people that had come to the wedding. Everyone was here and taking their seats. Usually, everyone would be told to pick a side and sit, but she and Edward had both agreed it would be easier if everyone just mixed together. And to mix things up a bit, Edward’s family would be sitting behind her, and her parents would be sitting behind him.

Today was going to be perfect, she knew it. The sun was perfectly hidden behind clouds, but just in case, there was a gazebo set up over the ceremony sight and the reception areas. Her mother was smiling and looking so proud, as were Esme and Carlisle. Phil and Charlie were set on either side of her, ready to give her away. Rosalie and Alice were set to be her bridesmaids, and there would be no made of honor since the position had been reserved for Emily, who was mated to the werewolf pack leader, Sam. Jasper and Emmett were all set up as the groomsmen, and there would not be a best man since Edward wanted to keep the numbers even. But what really grabbed her attention was Edward himself.

Even though the sun was not shining and the sky was a dark gray, he still managed to hold a light all his own. All of the men were dressed in their best dress clothes, as were the women. Alice and Rosalie were wearing matching dresses, only Rosalie’s dress was white with pink ribbons and little yellow roses.

Smiling, Bella pulled her pink cloak closer and made sure to keep her mind clear of all the possible ways this day could go wrong and focused solely on Edward. At the moment he was turned away from her talking to the priest, but she could still see the color of his eyes. She could still feel the way he watched her every move and could feel the way his cool skin felt against her own. A slow blush began to creep its way up her neck and Bella quickly turned away in time to hear the music start playing.

Nervous and giddy at the same moment, she turned and watched as first Rosellia and Emmett made their way from behind the curtain, followed closely by Alice and Jasper. Excitedly, she waited for her cue. But it never came as the area was surrounded by silence. Several moments ticked by before their was an angered breath from one of the women, followed by a snarl from Emmett, “What the hell are you doing here, mutts?”

At first, Bella stood frozen behind the curtain until the full force of his words hit her. Without a second thought, she slipped free of her father and step-father’s grips and went around the curtain. Half way down the makeshift aisle, Jasper stood braced before Alice and Emmett and Rosalie stood side-by-side as the faced towards the back of the concession. At the front, she could see Esme and Carlisle in the same positions, while Edward stood at the alter as if at perfect ease, while everyone else sat turned around to see what the whole problem was about.

Following all of their gazes, Bella saw a group of people standing together. Several of them were muscle built, a few others were lanky, and at the front, beside the biggest of them all was an old man in a wheelchair who sat smiling.

From behind her, Bella could hear Charlie clap his hands and took a step forward, “Billy, nice of you to make it. For a while there we didn’t know if Bella had invited you.” He only took three steps before Bella snapped an arm up to stop him. He looked down and gave her a questioning look that she ignored. After a moments pause, she walked forward until she was halfway between her family and the Quileute werewolf pack from La Push. Ignoring Billy, she turned to the pack leader. Her face was hidden by the hood of her cloak, but everyone could tell by her voice that she was not smiling. “I didn’t invite them. Why are you here Sam?”

The wolf-man smiled, but it was more a baring of teeth, and he jerked his head to the side of him. “These two convinced me it might be a good idea if we went ahead and joined the festivities.”

Quickly glancing in the direction he nodded, she saw a boy with long glossy hair that was pulled back into a tight ponytail, and beside him was a small woman who had a set of claw marks going across her face. Instantly she felt a pang deep in her chest as she recognized them.

Silently, Alice came up beside her and grasped her hand. Grabbing hold, Bella turned back to Sam. “Even considering whose celebration it is?” Sam gave her another of his smiles before looking to someone out of her line of vision. “Seeing as to how the cold one showed up in person, in La Push, and invited us personally, and refused to leave until we considered it, I guess we really had no choice, now did we?” He snarled.

Shocked for a moment, she was not able to answer. Alice easily guessed what her next question would be and asked it. “Which cold one, you seem to be forgetting there are seven of us.” Smiling faintly, Bella squeezed her hand and looked into her eyes, “Might as well say eight now.”

Turning back, she saw as the boy with the ponytail shuddered and the woman with the scars smiled at her. Smiling back, she waited for the answer to Alice’s question. However, it was not Sam who answered. The boy with the ponytail stepped forward to stand slightly behind Sam. Looking at the boy, Bella felt her smile slip as she greeted him. “Jacob.”

Jacob looked her straight in the eyes and she silently met his gaze while he spoke. “The col– Edward, came to our area last night and explained the whole situation to us and tried to talk us into coming to the wedding. He told us about why you’re leaving and explained to us the deadline and what has to be done along with the consequences if it’s not.”

Stunned, Bella and all of the other Cullens turned to face Edward. Still at the alter, Edward kept his face blank as he faced the werewolf pack. “Last night, during the banquet I stopped by the La Push area, and Sam, his friends, and I talked about a few things and I asked them if they would come to the wedding, or the simple act of saying good-bye to Bella.”

Bella knew that there had been more than talking going on. La Push was the werewolves’ area to protect and vampires were forbidden by a signed treaty from entering. If caught, the werewolves could very well do whatever they wanted to. And to say that he had gone over to tell them ‘everything’ as Jacob had put it, including the deadline, stipulations, and consequences, meant he had told them not only about the wedding, but of the Voltaire and the bargain made.

“So you’re only here for the wedding, not to cause trouble?”

Silently, Jacob and the others nodded. After a few more seconds, Bella ran forward and wrapped her arms around Jacob’s neck. She heard as the woman beside him laughed and as one of the boys in the back chuckled, while another let out a low snarl. Ignoring the snarl, she hugged Jacob tighter and let out a slight wheeze as he held her too tight. Instantly, his grip lessened but she kept her hold as silent tears slipped down her face. She knew that both vampire and werewolves could smell the salt of her tears, but she ignored them anyway. “Thank you.”

After a few more seconds, the woman beside him spoke up. “Okay, that’s enough, I want my own hug.” Laughing, Bella let go of Jacob and turned to the woman, giving her a quick embrace, “Emily.” Several of the other wolves moved forward for their own hugs, though a few were somewhat resistant and others flat out refused. But Bella managed to greet several of them by their names. “Brady. Seth. Collin. Jared. Embry.” There were some she did not know, but she welcomed them. When she came to the last three, she gave Billy a quick hug. Turning to one of the men, she reached up and wrapped her arms around him in a hug, ignoring his low snarl before he begrudgingly returned the hug. Last was Sam who grudgingly gave his own hug, mumbling a low, “You stink like them. You need a bath.”

She and he both knew that the Cullens had heard what he said and she saw several of the werewolves hide smirks as it was said. Smiling, she stepped back to where she was before turning back to face Jacob. “So what, now you’re okay with it?”

He snarled. “Hell no, but it would be better with him.”

Sam stepped forward now and took over the conversation. “When is this deadline.”

Charlie spoke up from behind her, and she heard the same thought echoed by many others in the crowd. “What deadline? And what situation and stipulations and consequences are they talking about, Bella?”

Still a little leery, Alice kept her eyes locked onto the werewolves as she easily lied to the congregation. “Registration for college. We have to be moved and settled in, all the paperwork and books and fees must be had and paid before the deadline. If not, then the tuition triples and we’ll have to start the semester late, which will put us behind in work.”

Bella quickly caught on and agreed with the lie. “And we have until the end of the week to be moved in. Then we’ll have to deal with the books and tuition, followed by the paperwork.”

Billy looked at Bella closely and slowly nodded his head. “And so when is this deadline?”

“In precisely forty-three days.” Came a voice from directly behind Bella.

Instantly, the Cullens went back into their stances, with Alice flanking Bella as they faced the owner of the voice. Without even turning, she knew who the voice would belong to. She still had nightmares of them, of how they had people brought down from the city streets so that they could be fed on by the vampires.

There were eight in total, but only seven were present at the moment. There was a tall man with an olive complexion and black wavy hair that fell around his shoulders and man who was built more like Emmett but resembled the other man except for this ones hair was cropped short. She knew these two were of the special guard, as was the small girl between them who could easily be mistaken for a boy except for her face was too pretty for a boys. Bella knew these three to be Felix, Demetri, and Jane. Behind them were four more figures that she could easily recognize too.

There was Marcus, who could read relationships, with his paper-thin skin and long, black hair. Then there was Caius, whose ability was unknown, with his paper-thin skin and short, cropped hair that was as white as his and any other vampire’s skin. Alec was the short one who closely resembled Jane and could easily inflict pain with a thought, also like Jane, only his ability is much more advanced. And lastly was Aro, the record keeper, who had paper-thin skin and long jet black hair, but where the other seven have burgundy eyes, his are a unique cloudy and milky burgundy.

The eighth, and unaccounted for, would be their hunter, Heidi. She was one of those knockouts with her long mahogany hair and even longer and sexier legs, then throw in her burgundy eyes covered by blue contacts, and she is one lethal hunter. They were like vampire royalty, the high council made of the oldest of vampires. The Volturi.

Shivering, Bella turned towards her little curtain and threw her hands in the air as she started whispering harshly. “What else could possibly happen? A pack of werewolves show up and stop the wedding, I leave my beloved standing at the alter, and the Volturi decide to show up early. What else is there?” Turning sharply, she caught several of the werewolves and Cullens smiling, even Edward, and saw that a few of the Volturi were smirking at her comment. Huffing again, she continued in a low whisper, “Can we get back to the wedding before Victoria or some other murderous she-witch decides to show up and get revenge?”

Smiling again, Edward nodded and quickly got everything back in order, but before things were set back in motion, Renee stood up and glared back at the Volturi. “And who are they?” Gulping, Bella turned around and was getting ready to come up with a reply before Alec quickly stepped in to explain himself. “I’m the administrator of the school young Bella and Edward shall be joining. They were set to have arrived today, but due to the wedding plans, they obviously could not make it. So, in exchange for an extension, they invited myself and the rest of the council to their wedding, as a way for us to be able to vouch for them if you would. In exchange, they will have another week to arrive, but their deadline will still ve the same.”

The last part was added with a pointed look at both Bella and Edward who understood the message clearly. Once the matter was settled, and everyone returned to their seats, the ceremony was restarted. Once again, Bella found herself watching as Rosalie and Emmett went around the curtain, followed closely by Alice and Jasper. Consumed by nerves, Bella mutely moved into position and looped an arm through each of her fathers’ arms. They both smiled broadly as they held each grasped one of her hands and waited for their cue.

Their was a slight pause as the song changed and the new one picked up, which was supposed to be their cue. But as the song ended, instead of going around the curtain, the curtain was removed and tossed to the side. Looking to either side she noticed Emily and Jacob standing with smiles on their faces. Then she noticed the dress suit on Jacob and Emily’s dress that was an exact replica of Rosalie and Alice’s dresses, only in a light pink with gold ribbons and little white roses.

Smiling, Jacob and Emily led the way down the aisle where they took their positions as the maid-of-honor and best man. Silently crying again and overjoyed about everything, Bella slowly made her way down the aisle and smiled widely once she reached the end, where she stopped at a small platform meant for the bride and groom to stand on. When asked who gave her away, both Charlie and Phil spoke, after which they each turned and gave her a kiss on a cheek at the same time before reaching up and removing her cloak.

Everyone quickly admired her dress, taken aback at its appearance. Her dress was similar to those Emily, Alice, and Rosalie’s, but hers was a butterscotch color with white ribbons, her long hair was curled and brushed back to fall in silky waves down her back, with little roses strung throughout it and a thin ring of diamonds circled her head and rested lightly on her forehead with silver ribbons trailing out from the under the backside. But where Emily, Alice, and Rosalie’s dress skirts were puffed out like princess dresses and stopped mid-calf, Bella’s hung freely down to where it barely brushed the ground, leaving enough space to show the silver heels that had thin ribbons of string tied up to her mid-calf to hold them in place. If Edward had any breath left in him, the mere sight of her would have been able to take it away.

Once the cloak was gone and had been handed off to her mother, Phil and Charlie both held onto her right hand and gently pressed it into Edward’s with whispered threats and comments about her protection.

Still smiling, she looked up at Edward and slowly stepped forward onto the platform. As she went to put her other foot on the platform though, she slipped and began to fall forward until Edwards arms caught her. Several people gasped but Bella and Edward grinned as she looked up at him. “I guess I’m always going to be in need of rescuing.” Many people laughed at her this time, and several of the Cullens and werewolves smiled in agreement.

Once the laughing was over, the ceremony continued. It seemed to fly by as they repeated their vows and said their “I do’s”. Once it was said and done though, after Edward had gripped Bella’s left hand and repeated his vows of forever, he had slipped a diamond and topaz ring onto her ring finger and said the final words of “I do”, and when no one objected to the marriage, the priest told Edward that he could kiss his bride.

Turning to her, Edward simply reached up and lovingly placed his right hand on her cheek, where he gently rubbed his thumb back and forth. Silently, Bella stepped closer until their foreheads rested against each other and wrapped her arms around his waist. A moment passed as they stood with eyes closed. Slowly, Edward reached out with his left hand and gently grasped her hand, playing with the ring as he moved his head to the side and leaned in close to whisper in her ear so that only she, and the vampire and werewolves with heightened hearing, could hear. “I don’t remember much from my time as a human, but I do know that this belonged to my grandmother back when I was Edward Anthony Mason. I want you to wear it always as a proof of my love for you, my Bella.”

Silent tears started to stream down her face as she realized what the ring must have meant to him, what she obviously meant to him, and she smiled brightly as she reached up to place her hands on either side of his face. Moving her head back, she gently touched her nose to his and looked deep into his butterscotch eyes. “I will always wear this ring for I will never stop loving you, not even if you do somehow manage to be able to read my mind, or when you decide you known what’s best for me and try to leave again. I won’t let you leave me again. I will always love you, my love. My Edward.”

Tears continued to stream down her face but she smiled widely as Edward reached up to wipe them away before he softly claimed her lips in a slow burning, passionate kiss. After a few moments though, she broke away for a breath of air and grinned as the claps and whistles and laughter filtered in. Smirking, Edward offered her his hand and she gladly accepted it as the turned to face the congregation and were announced as “Mr. and Mrs. Edward Cullen” in their own special field.

Silently, Edward and Bella saw the Cullens off as they left for the north, then they met with the Voltaire who reminded them of their agreement, next came the werewolves who congratulated them on a fine wedding, and finally came the seeing off of guests. Once the last of the guests had left, Bella turned and wrapped her arms around Edward’s waist, nuzzling her face into his chest. Edward grinned down at her as he brought an arm up around her shoulders and gently stroked her hair with his other. “So, my Bella, how does it feel to Mrs. Isabella Marie Swan Cullen?”

Grinning into his chest, she murmured, “Just about as good as it does to be here with you.” Resting his cheek on the top of her head, he asked. “And how is that?”

Looking up, she smiled dreamily, “Nothing can compare.”

Default Re: A Day To Remember [fanfic from Midnight Sun of the Twilight series]

Part 3: The Night of a Lifetime

Edward turned to look down at her lovingly, a small smile gracing his lips. He could never get enough of her, could never see her smiling face enough. She was not a classic beauty, but she was more than enough beautiful to steal his breath away, so to speak. Her dark brown hair was pulled back and curled loosely, with only a few layered bangs hanging forward to frame her heart shaped face that house a magnificent sight. Her eyes were a bit wide spaced under a set of straight eyebrows that were darker than her hair and a wide forehead, but the mesmerizing brown color of her eyes detracted attention as they were highlighted by gold and bronze eye shadow and touches of black mascara that lead to a devastating effect. She also had a thin nose and a narrow jaw that lead to a pointed chin, but her prominent cheekbones lit up her otherwise pale complexion as they were a splash of rose coloring. And even though her lips were slightly out of proportion for her jaw line, they still managed to mesmerize him as she smiled graciously.

Nervously her tongue darted out to her lips, causing them to have a glistening look over their natural pink color. Slowly, he reached up and placed his hand on her cheek and watched as her eyes drifted shut and she turned her face into the palm of his hand. After a few more moments he moved his hand and placed a finger under her chin, using it to lift her face so that he could see her eyes. “You ready to go home?”

Bella smiled softly and nodded. Turning, Edward knelt down and waited as she carefully climbed onto his back. Once she was on and her legs were wrapped safely around his waist and her arms around his shoulders, he flashed her a quick grin and took off using his vampire speed. She had long since gotten used to the speed and, where in the beginning she had to keep her eyes closed in danger of feeling dizzy, kept her eyes open and watched the scenery fly by. In mere moments they were standing inside a hallway at the top of a set of stairs. Silently, Edward turned and lightly grasped Bella’s hand. Their gazes locked for a moment, a silent message all their own passing between them, before Edward led her to the left and together they walked to the end and entered the last bedroom.

As she entered, Bella could not hold back the smile that came to her lips. Even though vampires did not sleep, Edward had always kept a small settee in his room. But where before it was the only place to lay, there was now a large queen size bed set up behind it in the far corner beside a wall of glass. It was a large canopy bed covered in white satin sheets with a matching comforter that had gold and silver patterns stitched in and there were even sheer white curtains with gold trimmings surrounding the bed.

And in the midst of this great bed lay a single white rose with red tipped petals. A small gasp of surprise and wonder slipped free and Bella slowly moved forward to pick up the rose. Carefully, she held it up to her nose and drew in the flower’s scent. She smiled dreamily and looked over the top of the rose to see Edward watching her.

She knew what was on his mind without having to read his facial features. He was going over their promises to each other and debating if it would really be worth it to continue on. When she and Edward had gotten back together, they had debated over when she would be turned. During the debate, Bella had said that she would only wait as far as graduation, but Edward refused and argued that the only way he would change her would be after they were married. At the time, she had been angry but eventually she came around and agreed.

Then she had came up with a stipulation of her own. She would marry him and would wait until after the wedding to be turned, but in return they had to make love while she was still human. Edward had been leery of this since both of them were still virgins and Edward did not know how he would react in the situation with anyone, let alone a virgin, not to mention that she was a virgin whose blood constantly called to him. While Bella argued this point, Edward thought it would be best if they waited until the night that she was to be turned, but it would have to happen after they were far away from Forks and all of her loved ones.

In the end, they had come to yet another agreement. After the ceremony, the Cullens would head out before them, leaving the two of them alone for the ensuing week. During that week, she and Edward could practice Edward’s restraint and see how far he could go without the bloodlust kicking in. Whenever the lust got to be too much strain, he would be able to pull back and Bella would not push him any further. In return for him giving her a trial week, she would give him an extra month before he had to turn her.

The agreement had been fairly simple to make at the time, but now Bella began to question if perhaps she had pushed the issue too far. Edward had wanted to wait to try and make love after they were far from Forks, so that way if he lost control her loved ones would not be in danger once the transformation was complete.

Frowning now, Bella lowered the rose and quietly asked, “Edward, do you really want to go through with this?” The silence was deafening to her, but she steadily ignored it as she waited for his reply. After what seemed like hours to her, Edward made his reply.

Taking slow, sure strides, he walked up to her and gently grasped both her hands, being extra careful with the hand that held the rose. He moved both arms up behind his neck and loosely wrapped one of her arms around his neck, while one of his hands grasped the one of hers that held the rose. His other hand moved down to her waist where h rested it on the flare of her hips.

His face was still void of emotions, but Bella knew that it was just a façade to hide how vulnerable he felt. Smiling again, she rose up onto her toes and softly kissed his lips. “Remember, we’re only testing tonight. That doesn’t mean we have to go all of the way yet.” Slowly, Edward returned her smile and leaned down to brush his lips across hers in feather light touch, “I know, I just want to take it a little slow so that we remember it, my Bella.”

There was raw emotion in his voice and Bella could not stop the tears that came to here eyes. When he looked up, the same feeling was reflected in his eyes and she carefully disentangled herself from his grasp. He could have easily held in her in place, but he released her when she made he first motion and stepped back to give her space. Turning, she tossed the rose onto the farthest pillow before she looked him from over her shoulder.

She was nervous and paused for a quick breath before she met his gaze again and slowly brought her hair over her shoulder so that her back was visible. “Will you loosen the ribbon at neck- and waist-lines?” At first Edward did not respond. He continued to look at her back which, unlike those of he bridesmaids and made of honor, was open to view. The material swooped down from her shoulders down to her lower back where it curved into a gracious dip. The only thing that adorned her back were the thin white ribbons, one at the back of her neck that held the sleeves of her dress and neckline up, a small bundle of ribbons that were tied low on her back, and a few white strings that crisscrossed her back.

His mouth was suddenly dry and felt as if it was filled with sand and grit. She was still watching him from over her shoulder as he gracefully moved forward in a move that hid his inner tremblings. He handled the ribbons delicately as he untied them and let them drop down to hang. He did not move away once the ribbons were undone though. He stayed behind her and carefully brought a hand up to hover just bare of an inch from her skin.

She radiated warmth and her skin was a soft pink instead of its usual pale pallor, where he was like a pale white icicle. All ready chill bumps were beginning to form up and down her arms and back, and her heart thrummed with anticipation and excitement. Sure she and Edward had touched before, but they always knew that Edward would stop it before it got anywhere serious. He had always been the one to pull away from a kiss if it got too heated, or stop the caresses when thy began to wander too much. But not tonight. They both knew that neither of them would be able to pull back once they started.

Turning around, Bella shyly reached out and put her hands on his chest. Watching him carefully, she looked up into his eyes to see what they were doing. They were still a butterscotch color, only now they were a bit darker. Swallowing, she looked back to her hands and gently rubbed them across his chest. She could feel the cold of him through his shirt and smiled shyly as she moved her hands to the side and slipped his jacket off of him before tossing it onto the settee.

His hands found their way up to her back and she could not suppress the shiver that ran through her. Edward smiled down at her knowingly and Bella returned the smile as she stepped in closer. She moved her hands up to his shirt and she fumbled with the small ivory buttons. After several tries, she managed to get the last button undone and her hands were trembling.

She gave him a shaky smile to show it was just nerves and moved her hands to his chest. It was cold and solid to the touch. As soon as her hands came into contact with its smooth surface, they calmed and slowly began to warm up. It was a drastic difference, her warmth and light to his cold and darkness. But it was a good difference when mixed together.

They managed to create a heat all their own as they stared lovingly into each other’s eyes. Bella knew that there was no turning back and that she was about to lose her virginity, but she was happy that she would be able to give it to the one she loved, just as he was doing with her. A low giggle escaped her lips and Edward gave her questioning look as he removed his shirt to reveal a broad chest. She tried to give him her best ‘devious’ look before she reached behind herself and unzipped the back zipper. Then, slowly, she brought her hands out to infront of her and took a step forward as the dress fell down o her hips, were it snagged for a quick second before falling to the ground in a puddle of butterscotch satin and silver ribbons. She stopped once she was free of the dress and nervously brought one of her hands up to chew on a newly pedicured nail.

Edward watched as she nervously bit at her nail like she had a bad habit of doing. He could see the white nail polish chipping off at odd intervals, but what really grabbed him was what she was wearing. If not for him already being dead, he would have just died of a heart attack. Before him, Bella stood in a white corset with bright red flowers splashed across it. The corset itself was a sheer cloth that covered her from her breasts down till a few inches above her navel, and only went to her sides, were a set of strings were sewn on to help tie it in place. Below the corset, starting several inches below her navel, was a pair of skimpy white lace boy-cut panties. Along with the two-inch heels, that neither he nor Bella know how she managed to walk in, the overall effect of her would be enough to kill even the deadest of men.

Gulping in a breath of air that he swore he needed, Edward looked her over again. Other then the corset, panties, and sexy silver heels, the only things she still wore were the diamond ringlet and white ribbons and roses in her hair and her wedding ring. Everything else was bare. From her shapely shoulders and beautiful neck, her perfect little hips and enticing little navel, down to her tantalizingly long legs that seemed to go forever when combined with heels and ribbons. She was a vision of visions in Edwards eyes.

Bella was still standing before him and she was working on her third nail when he finally came back to her. Grinning shyly, she whispered, “Rosalie bought it for me for tonight.” Edward gave the outfit a dumbfounded look. “Rosalie?” Bella nodded and shifted her weight to her other leg. “Yea. And Renee helped with my hair and the circlet.”

“Renee?”

Again, Bella nodded. “Alice thought that you might like the heels, too.”

“Alice?” Edward gave her a shocked look, “Are you sure they weren’t trying to kill me again?” Bella stood confused for a moment as she thought about what he had said. After a moments pause she went back to chewing on her nail. “You don’t like it?” Edward finally snapped out of his trance and looked at her fully. Grinning, he walked up to her and placed a loving hand on her cheek. “My love, I do like it. It is just you seem to take my breath away.”

Bella brushed brightly and quickly tried to duck her head in embarrassment. Edward laughed softly at her response and gently grasped her chin and brought her head up. “Don’t be embarrassed, Bella mine. You look very pretty.” She smiled in response and eagerly met his lips as he lowered his head to taste her.

Silently, Edward opened his mouth too her and let her tongue explored the confines of his mouth. Her soft, velvety tongue brushed against his own cold and hard one before moving on to rub against the inside of his cheeks. She moved to explore his teeth and he tried to move back and stop her, but he did not have the strength to as her tongue caressed his fangs at the same time she reached down and freed him of the last of his clothing. Moaning deep in his throat, practically growling, he swung her up into his arms and carefully set her in the middle of the bed with her head resting against the mounds of pillows.

Swiftly, he joined her on the bed and lowered himself down beside her. Bella watched every move he made as he reached for her, but it was not out of fear for his bloodlust. His eyes were already black, but she trusted him enough not to harm her. She sighed softly as his cold hand brushed her cheek and she smiled as it slowly drifted down to the base of her neck were it rested. Slowly, the bed began to dip as he leaned forward and bent his head to her neck.

There was a soft breeze of air as he inhaled the scent of her and she could not help but let out a soft sigh as he placed a gentle kiss between her neck and shoulder. The next time she opened her eyes, he was overtop of her and he was silently asking for her to meet his gaze. The final decision would be up to her. It was either now or never. Deep down inside of her, she felt a fissure of fear at losing her virginity because of the pain, but she knew that it was what she wanted to do, and she wanted it to be with the love of her life.

She smiled hesitantly and nodded her head. Edward gave her his trademark grin before he leaned down and kissed the hollow behind her ear. His tongue darted out quickly and Bella gasped in surprise at its coldness. Soon, her body felt flushed with heat and she could not help but cry out as he slipped his cool hands into her panties and grasped her bottom. Just as she could not help crying out again as his cool tongue touched her skin moments late and began tracing its way down her body. It felt as if a melting ice cube were being drawn across her body in the place of his tongue. The feel of his tongue was exhilarating and Bella could not wait any longer. Crying his name, she reached out for him and begged him to come to her.

Edward rested his chin just above her navel and toyed with the elastic of her panties as he smiled up at her. He kept his eyes locked onto hers that now resembled a dark black and quietly drew her panties down her legs, being careful to lift each foot out before he tossed them to the side.

Without hesitation, he jumped up to join Bella and slowly lowered himself onto her. His body was like a slab of marble against her, instantly acting to cool her body, but even then she still burned for him inside. She wanted him to be with her, for them to become one being. Reaching up, Edward placed a hand on her cheek and searched her eyes for any doubts. Finding none, he leaned down a softly kissed her lips. “I love you, my Bella.”

Bella nodded her head and wrapped an arm around his waist while her other hand went up to cup his cheek as his head dropped down for another kiss. Their tongues darted out to meet each other before the two mouths even met, and when they did they simple tangled together in a passion heated, soul searing kiss. At the same moment, Edward placed a bracing hand on her hip and kept his other hand on her cheek.

In one swift movement, before Bella even had the time to think about it, he surged up and broke through her virginal barrier. She pushed back into the covers, jerking away from him at the first sign of pain and her eyes squeezed shut as her lips parted in a low gasp of pain. After a few moments, Bella relaxed and looked up into Edward’s eyes. They were filled with both sorrow and pain for what he had done, but there was no sign of bloodlust even the scent of blood was heavy in the air between them.

She gave him a shaky smile and reached up to brush a strand of hair out of his eyes. “See, we’re fine. I didn’t break, and you haven’t gone into a frenzy at the scent of my blood.” For a moment, his eyes still held pain and sorrow but Bella grinned up at him and brought his head back down to hers in a heated kiss.

Bella ended up having to break the kiss in favor of air, but when she looked into Edward’s eyes again there was no signs of pain or sorrow, just a sense of heat, of want and love. He gave her his smile and she returned it as he slowly began to move in and out of her, giving her time to adjust to him. From the first, it felt like they belonged together, like he was meant to be a part of her. The cool touch of his skin quickly eased the pain as he continued to push into her.

She moaned deep in her throat at the sense of wholeness he gave her, at the feeling of being complete now that he was with her. He was moving inside of her, and above her, and his presence seemed to surround her with the warmth of his love. Her arms wrapped securely around him and she gripped his back as she arched into him, felt as he seemed to go deeper within her with every push. She could hear as he moaned his own pleasure, felt as he slowly entered her over and over again.

A slow warmth begin to build inside of her and she arched closer to him as it grew. And the warmer she began to feel. But it was not just hot as in her love, it was hot as in temperature. Even Edward felt warm to the touch instead of his usual cold that she had come to know and love. She gasped as the feel of his cool skin and her eyes jerked open as she stared up at him.

He was still there with his eyes closed and she could feel the hand at her back that held her close to him, as well as the hand that held her thigh close to his hip. She could feel him, it just was not the same cold touch she was accustomed to. Looking at him closer, she noticed his skin was no longer its pale whit, but indeed a very pale pink and even as she watched I continued to gain color slowly.

Gasping out loud, she looked up in time to see him open his eyes. Her hand seemed to act on its own as it removed itself from his back and moved to brush his hair back out of his face. Lightly, she touched a finger to the side of his eye and her mouth opened on a silent scream as the warmth inside of her seamed to explode all at once, while at the same time her mouth had opened on a silent gasp at what she had seen. Her eyes stayed locked on his as she reached her climax, and her voice managed to come out on a breath of air. “Green…your eyes are green.”

Edward’s facial mask cracked and he looked completely shocked at what she said, but before he could react his own release caught him. Bella felt as he jerked her tight to his body, she knew that a bruise would be left, but at the same time the thought flitted through her head, she felt another sharp sting in her neck.

Bella clung tight to Edward as he held her close, and her eyes closed tight as she felt the bite of his fangs piercing the skin of her neck. She bit her bottom lip to keep from crying out, but it did not stop her as she climaxed again.

Once she heart rate was back to normal, Bella opened her eyes and looked up into a pair of familiar butterscotch eyes. There were many emotions flitting across his face: pain, sorrow, despair, regret, shock, concern, and a deep love. He looked near frantic as he reached for her, but he stopped just short of touching her and his hands moved down to touch her shoulder before going down to her hands. Slowly, she watched as his eyes studied her and when he spoke, his voice broke. “Bella, Bella. Please look at me, I’m sorry. I should have known to stop. I should have. I’m sorry, my Bella.”

Bella reached up and carefully wiped away the blood on her neck before she grasped his hand and brought it up to her face where she nuzzled it. “I’m fine, Edward. Really. It was just a bite, you didn’t take much.”

He still looked worried and Bella huffed as she tried to sit up, but he would not allow her to. He still lay beside her, but now he seemed to have put some distance between them emotionally. “Edward, really I am fine. It was not the bloodlust. If it had been then I would be dead now. We both know that.” He would not meet her eyes and Bella pushed him onto his back before she quickly climbed on top of him. He instantly tried to move her, but she stopped any of his objections when she grabbed hold of him and guided him into her tight sheath. “Edward mine. M Edward. I told you today I would not let you leave me again, and I meant it. So you bit me, oh well. So I’ll change early. At least it was you and not a Volturi who did it. Don’t worry, we’ll be fine.”

Edward kept his mouth shut and closed his eyes, as if he was trying to ignore the fact that he was buried deep inside of her. She knew that was exactly what he was trying to do and purposely ground her hips against his. She grinned at his tortured moan and waited for him to open his eyes.

Once his eyes were open again, she leaned down and rested her chin on his chest. Grinning, she touched a finger to the side of his eye like she had done earlier. “Did I tell you that I saw your eyes change from black to green, at the same time I watched your skin go from pale white to flushed with color?”

This got the desired result and Edward looked down at her. “That’s not possible.”

Nodding, Bella grinned wider, “I did, while we were making love. You eyes turned black while were making love, but later on I felt your skin heating up, then I watched as it was flushed with color, and saw as your years went from black with passion to the green of a human.”

“But how?”

“Maybe it’s my special ability. Maybe you get to become human while we are making love.”

“But we can’t know that for sure.”

“Yes we can. I can barely feel the bite at the moment, you are more than ready, and I already know you won’t go crazy with bloodlust.”

“I won’t risk you, Bella mine.”

“Then I guess I can see if the same thing will work with a different vampire.”

Edward growled low in his chest and Bella quickly suppressed her grin. “You will do no such thing.”

Grinning down at him, Bella sat up strait and ignored his moan at her sudden motion. “Then that leaves you.”

Edward glared up at her and let his eyes drift shut. “Sure, what else could possibly happen? A pack of werewolves show up and stop the wedding, my beloved leaves me standing at the alter, the Volturi decide to show up early, my family tries to kill me by dressing you up for tonight, I almost kill you when I bite you, you’re going to become a vampire a month before we planned on, and now we think we’ve figured out your special ability but the only way o test it is by risking me biting you again. What else is there?”

Bella let out a huff of air and slapped him on the arm. Smiling, Edward reached up and smoothly flipped her underneath him. Looking down at her, his smile faded and he quietly searched her eyes. “Bella, are you are you want to try this?” Nodding her head, she reached up and touched his cheek, “Yea. Besides, nothing else can compare. I’ve only just got my best friend back,, I married my beloved, got a new family, we beat the Volturi, I get to become a vampire like you in just a few short days, and I was able to make love with you as a human for both our first times, and it was in a house I like in a room I love instead of some strange room I don’t even know if I’ll like. And the big thing is, I get to be with the one I love for the rest of eternity.” Grinning, she reached up and kissed him lightly on the lips. “Edward mine. My beloved, my husband, my soulmate. My Edward.”

Watching her closely, Edward reached beside her and picked a squashed rose petal out of her hair. “So you don’t regret anything about today? About the Volturi or your first time being ruined by a vampire bite that will turn you early?”

Smiling up at him, her diamond circlet sparkling in the dim light, she picked up her rose off the pillow beside them and held it up to her nose. “Not a thing. I must say, it was certainly a day to remember.”
