Guardian

The idiot girl just keeps walking; I shook my head and yelled at her “SASHA!!” She didn’t even turn; I floated over to her and stood right in her path “STOP!!” She didn’t even flinch, just kept walking. I followed her for a while; I had to do something before she got home. I went up and put my mouth near her ear and whispered “Sasha, stop walking.” She stopped and looked around, wondering why she felt she shouldn’t continue, she spoke to herself “Maybe I’ll just go to Cassie’s house.” She turned and walked the opposite way down the road; I let out a sigh of relief and followed her closely. This girl was going to be the death of me; Joe appeared near me “Travis, master wants to know why you did that.” Keeping one eye on Sasha, I looked at Joe “Why I did what?”
“Stopped her from going home.”
“She’s not going to have an enjoyable experience if she goes home.”
“You are her guardian, not someone who tells her what to do. It was her choice to go home and you changed it.”
“No, she didn’t really want to go home, I just nudged her in a different direction.”
“This is your second warning Travis, one more an you’re out.” My focus was now on Sasha as she crossed the street, a car was coming and she thought she could make it but I knew she couldn’t, I slightly whispered “Car pass.” Softly enough Joe couldn’t hear but Sasha was listening so she could. She stopped and let it pass then continued, I glanced back at Joe “Fine! I’ll watch myself.” Joe shook his head and disappeared. I ran back up next to Sasha and walked along side her.
We reached Cassie’s house and Sasha knocked on the door and after a few seconds Cassie opened it “Sasha! Hi girl what are you doin here?”
“Honestly, I don’t know, was walken home and decided to come here instead.”
“Well come in, come in.” Sasha walked in and I followed closely. Mark was sitting on the couch, I sat down next to him, he shook his head “Travis, Travis, Travis, hear you got another warning.” Making sure to keep one eye on Sasha I laughed “Yeah, I stopped her from going home.” Mark tapped my head “You’ve got it bad, don’t you.”
“What?”
“You fell in love with her, with your Sasha.” I was quiet and Mark appeared in front of me “You’ve gotta be real careful now Travis.”
“I know.”
“No, I don’t think you do! Do you know how hard it is for me?!” The girls had moved into another room and I was getting ancy. Mark shook his head and we went into the other room, I spoke “Yes, I can see how hard it is for you but I love her.”
“I know you do, let’s keep both of our loves between us.”
“Deal, how are you and Cassie getting along?”
“We are actually doing good. She listens and hears my ever word now.”
“Really? Every single word?”
“Yes.” Cassie interrupted us by calling Mark’s name “Mark? Who else is here with you?” I blinked a few times “She can hear you THAT good?” Cassie laughed “Yes I can hear you both.” Sasha laughed at Cassie “Mark’s here?” Cassie laughed “He’s always here.”
“I wish I had a guardian.” I took a step forward and ran my fingers along Sasha’s cheek “You do baby, you do.” Cassie smiled at Sasha “Who says you don’t? Mark who is he?” Mark walked over and put his arms around Cassie “His name is Travis, he’s Sasha’s guardian.” Cassie smiled and Sasha bounced “What, what, what did he say?”
“You have a guardian and his name is Travis.”

Hands


My hands, stained with blood, shook as the rain poured down around me, the bloody dirt slowly becoming red mud. I couldn’t believe it, couldn’t believe they we’re all dead. I was on my knees over K.C.’s body; he had long since stopped breathing. No one would be coming, it was a secret mission, told us if things went bad they would disown us. I laid my head down on his chest and closed my brown eyes, wishing to die.
My eyes opened, my hands were handcuffed behind my back and I was sitting in a chair. My senses automatically went on high and I looked around. Three people were in the room, terrorists by the look of them. I wiggled around and one of them glanced over, his brown eyes looking me up and down, he said something in a language I didn’t understand and the other two looked over. I could feel my body tensing up, where was I? What was I doing here? How did I get here? Those questions ran quickly through my mind as the one who noticed I was awake first, walked toward me. I watched him closely, his face was cold as stone, no emotion. One of the other men put his hand on his shoulder and said something I couldn’t understand. The man shook it off and continued forward, stopping a few feet from me, speaking to me in his language. I shook my head “I don’t understand you.” The man cocked his head and spoke broken English “You wake.”
“Yes, I’m awake.”
“Who?” I blinked a few times “Who what? Who am I?” He nodded “Yes, yes.” I watched his face slowly speaking, remembering what I was taught “I’m an American citizen, here for a trip, sightseeing.”
“Lie.”
“Not a lie.”
“Yes, lie! Found over man body, way out!!” He pointed toward the wall. I shook my head “Just sightseeing.” He got right into my face “Lies!!” I didn’t even flinch, “Sightseeing.” He smacked me across the face “Stop!” My breathing increased and I spit out blood. The man shook his head and about hit me again but one of the other guys spoke, he turned as the door opened and a man walked in. The three who were in the room stood at attention, this man looked in charge. He walked over to me “Well, well, well, a woman? Odd how Americans think these days.” I eyeballed him “And who are you?” One of them men stepped forward but the man in charge put his hand up to stop him “You are a very idiotic lady, you know that?” I laughed, “So I’ve been told, so I’ve been told.” The man knelt down in front of me “Why are you in my country?”
“Like I told your buddy here –“ I nodded up at the man who had hit me “I am just sightseeing.” The man laughed “What can I call you?”
“You want my name?” The man nodded as I cocked my head “You can call me Becka.”
“Alright, Becka, you can call me Sir.” I laughed “Sir? Oh how original.” I nodded to the other three men “And they are?” Sir looked over at them “The one who hit you is Nate, the man who tried stopping him is Elix, and the other is Lany.” I nodded “Okay.” Sir stood up and motioned for Nate and spoke in his language, then looked back at me “He is going to watch you.”
“Watch me?”
“Yes, um, like take care of you, watch you.”
“Be my bodyguard?”
“Yes, kind of, also make sure you don’t get away.”
“Oh, yeah I understand.” Sir nodded and walked out of the room, followed by Elix and Lany. Nate stood up against the wall “Why I watch you?” I stuck my tongue at him “Cause your boss said so and no more hitting me.” He watched me “Your tongue.” I blinked “Yes?”
“Why stick at me?”
“First off, cause you hit me! Second, cause you have to watch me.” He blinked “I no understand.”
“Of course you don’t. Now, please uncuff me.” He walked right up to me and stuck his tongue at me “No.” My mouth fell open and I just stared at him. He cracked up laughing.

Austria

Austria ran her hands along the curtains in the castle hallway, her curly blond hair bouncing with every step, while her white flowing gown ran along the freshly cleaned floors. She smiled at each servant she met along the way to the throne room.
She knocked softly on the door; a servant pulled it open “Princess Austria, the king is waiting.” She nodded and followed the servant into the throne room. Austria kept her blue eyes on the ground as the servant spoke to the King “King Damon, your sister, Princess Austria is here.” The King waved his hand and the servant left. Damon sighed, “Tria –. “ She interrupted, sarcastically “I know, I know.” Damon flew up, his drink flying across the room “Don’t screw with me!” She stepped back as Damon came off his throne, I stepped into the room “I suggest you calm down, highness.” He turned sharply toward me “Dominic, when did you get here?” I crossed my arms at my chest “Damon, highness, sit back down.” He growled but sat back down “Fine Dominic, you deal with her.” I stepped up on the throne “Princess Austria, do you know what you did was wrong?” She cleared her throat and nodded “Yes, I know it was wrong.” Damon growled “Then why did you -.” I put my hand out to stop him from continuing “You said I could deal with it.” Damon slid his hand through his hair and motioned for me to continue. I nodded “Thank you, now, Princess Austria, why did you cross the river?”
“I wanted to know what it was like on the other side.” Damon flew up again “What the -.” I turned and grabbed the King’s shoulders “Damon! Sit down and stay sitting!” He let out a breath and sat back down. I turned back toward Austria “Okay you two I’m gonna drop the formalities, because it’s getting annoying. Tria what the heck did you think you would find on the other side of the river?”
“I don’t know Dom...I just wanted to see.” Damon shook his head “We’ve been told, by our parents, several times, that evil is on the other of the river. Why didn’t you believe them?” I glanced over at Damon, giving him a warning look to be quiet as Tria answered, “Damon, I believe and understand what mom and dad told us, what I don’t understand is why?” Damon shook his head but let me answer “Tria, why are you so curious?”
“You know why, you’re the one who told me. You said being curious was part of my nature.” Damon glanced at me and sighed.
