Do you prefer animes with a sad ending or happy ending?

Sad doesn't equal bad. A good ending whether sad or happy is preferred. I also don't want anime to go on forever like some people say. Quality can't stay the same forever and the thought of dying without being able to see the conclusion of a story you've heavily invested in is depressing. More so than an ending.

Any kind of ending is fine with me as long as it doesn't suck. Although I wish the really good animes would never end.

I prefer endings like Psychic Detective Yakumo, FMA:B, and Code Geass that the ending isn't necessarily sad or happy. I like ones that wrap up the series well and don't seem rushed. I can't stand the sappy everything is awesome endings or the everything is f*cked up beyond any recognition endings. I like the ones where the charaters have hardships to deal with but still have a future ahead of them. I hate the ones that end in just death with no hope for the future.

Yeah, FMA's ending was quite fitting.
For example Elfen Lied and Nabari no ou had too sad endings. Both Animes itself were too depressing and such an end made it even more depressive.

both becoz i really don't mind ending it with sad or happy ones... i just want that the ending to be fitting for the story.......... like code geass* a great end in season 2*

That's like the ultimate question. I mean in an Anime like Initial D you want Takumi Fujiwara to win and he does, happy ending. But then I remember I cried so hard at the end of GUNDAM 00 *spoilers* When Lockon Stratos died. he way Haro was crying out his name it was really really sad. *spoilers end here* But even so, both were extremely good.
