Thanks for the recommendation, I might watch that in fall when I need a good relaxing stress relief in between classes. | It is not by the same studio. Monogatari series is by SHAFT while Katanagatari is by WhiteFox, the studio behind Steins;Gate. But yeah, they have similarities when it comes to trippy-ness in dialogue because both adaptations are from NisioIsin(author's pen name). Actually, Katangatari has a short novel prequel about the origin of Maniwa ninjas...but I don't know what happened with that.
NisioIsin is also the one behind Medaka Box but it is not as charming as his other works. I read it myself and it has some boring parts but I keep on reading to only see the 2 great characters in the manga. Quote:
