Naruto seem to be getting to an end though and with the base idea that Naruto got the strongest monster that ever existed trapped in him, he only has to "unlock" his power, whereas Luffy has to learn new skills and grow this way. Luffy only being halfway through his journey at the current time, I guess it would make sense to say Naruto is stronger at this point in time.

It's not like the Gomu Gomu no Mi was anywhere near considered to be the strongest DF in the world. Luffy got 1 DF amongst many others, and many could argue that most Logia's and Legendary Zoan's are technically better than his DF.

Ohhh wait I forgot Luffy was already a beast with Gear 3rd when he was a kid with Ace & Sabo .... or not.

The majority of Naruto's combat power and intuition comes from hard work, perseverance, and innate ability, thats not even tied to the demon itself. He's improved so much that its just one more mode he can access if he needs to. Your statement implies take away the demon and he's got nothing. Which couldnt be more wrong. What does Luffy have without his DF then?
