i discovered some new techniques too!

and i just realized that every single signature i make seems low quality when its uploaded ... gotta fix that soon

Save them as PNG file

but PNG has a higher file size, doesnt it?

i like to keep my signaures with a filesize less than 20 kb (maybe thats just not big enough)

could be that i just didnt find the right format until now but ill try png

normally i use png files for other cg stuff. for example when i did something with 3ds max and save my animation/simulation as a bunch of single frames

Well PNG saves all the quality. I would use that just to show off the signatures and then you can go back and change it to JPEG when you need to. This is a gallery so it's better to show off what you have in as much quality as possible

i dont really need png for that

i lowered the quality for the files to keep the filesize down so i will just leave the quality at 80-100% then there really isnt any noticeable difference between png and jpeg, but it seems to me that when i upload images to imageshack the quality drops.

@josemz: yeah i could sometime. i usually like signatures with game things more because the renders are often more detailed and also i cant really identify myself with anime characters (i do watch anime frequently though - im watching gintama (episode 110) and arakawa under the bridge (episode 6) at the moment - but i dont like to stick my nose in this too much. maybe its because i cannot be japanese and im fine with that). but feel free to request a signature if u want one ^^ im always happy to do a signature for somebody
