This movie is amazing! I love when L straightens his back, it's hilarious. Kenichi Matsuyama plays L perfectly. His delivery is really good, dry and very L-like, but not totally flat and uninterested. I think he portrays L's certain amount of social and emotional ineptitude. Not to mention Kenichi is very good looking. I cried at two points in the movie. One, when Maki is listening to the voice records, something in that scene just touched me. I think it was realizing that Maki has lost her mother, her father, and now her savior of sorts, L. It's heartbreaking. And two, I cried as L was walking away from the little boy, Near, and straightens his back and walks a few feet. It was cute and funny, but it's also sad to think of him walking away literally to go die. It is L's last moment of happiness on this earth and since anyone who uses the Death Note can neither go to heaven nor hell, it's very upsetting to an L fan such as myself. Over all, best of the Death Note movies as far as writing and acting, and one of my favorite movies of all time officially. |
