![]() There are really some dramas with characters we can openly relate to and it helps to understand how they face the trials in their lives. Although I know that they are all just made up, seeing myself in the shoes of the lead actress is sometimes refreshing, it gives a fresh outlook on one's life.

Even though Hispanics for the most part are very forward and very affectionate, I feel like such a thing is a little daunting. I can hug and cling to my friends, but somehow a romantic partner is different. It takes me a long time to say that I love them, it makes me feel weird to hold them in public... etc, etc. I dated an Asian man some time back and I have to say that I was the happiest girl in the world. He understood my reservations and shyness... he valued me, he valued my family [he was raised to respect & cherish elders] & it was the best relationship I've ever had. He was the right balance of flirty and respectful. I guess that's why I feel comfortable watching Asian dramas because for the most part [all places have their liberals] they hold some of my same personal values & act a lot like I do [romantically.] I'm waiting anxiously now for the Zettai Kareshi special that airs later this month, because I'm dying to see Hiro play the charismatic Soshi again ;D | |

^ I think I would be immensely frightened if I were to date European or American men, I know they can be a bit aggressive and well, not too sensitive with a girl's shy demeanor, especially since they've been around girls who are so open in the past. My family only believes in one thing: The treasure of a woman should be given to the person she will marry. Or perhaps to the one she really loves but it is kind of tough. But girls can only have that much self-control these days. And love has been twisted around to not mean anything much anymore. I guess dramas try to keep the essence of true love alive eh? (darn, do I sound like a hopeless romantic yet? )I have no problem in holding hands in public or maybe hugging since I hug my friends a lot and such, but that's how far it can go. Which is why I cannot picture how it is abroad with PDA everywhere. Glad you had the opportunity to date an Asian man, I guess it gave you more perspective on a whole new different culture. *fangirl mode* Oh yes yes yes! The special is soon to be out. I guess that's what Hiro is going to be busy with after the filming for episode 10 is done. I wonder if his relationship with Riiko has blossomed when they were away together? Oohhhhh.. More Night-kun to love. Hmm.. I have no idea what the special's story will center on though.

My ex boyfriend [I got back together with him after dating that fabulous guy; big mistake, but whatever] is Italian American. He was shy, but his thoughts were way too open. I don't know where you live, but here in the states it's just gross. People have no decency. I cannot go to a club without having to watch people have sex with clothes on. *shudders* I don't fit in with the crowd here ;D OMG yes, the special! My heart will break if Riiko and Soshi got together and she's somehow torn when they come back to find Night. =O BTW - do you have livejournal? XD |

i personally agree with nyleve i think it's better with the less intimacy and intense physical sexual stuff like in the spanish soaps lol and i kinda wish that people were more prude today --;; all that physical stuff isn't so "special" anymore, now a days it's not really a big deal to have sex with a person you just met and then you later get AIDS and die -__-; yeah and definitely still get like shivers and you can see the love that the characters have for each other just by their eyes and small gestures |

I assume it's even normal there to wear super short shorts when out shopping. ;DIf ever you're in Asia, you will fit right in. Okay, maybe not since you don't look Asian but I think you get the point. ![]() The ending was really sad! Although it definitely killed the Night & Riiko relationship, they left the Soshi and hers open for interpretation. I'm thinking that maybe something happens to her.. and then Night comes to save her, etc. I want a happy ending this time! No more robots kept in storage! ![]() p/s: I do have an LJ but it's pretty sucky. I haven't updated it in forever. I keep one on blog spot though and that's where all my fangirling go. ![]() @ymakrap: People being prude today? Haha, I wonder if that can ever happen again. People here are starting to be less conservative that it sometimes scares me. Thank goodness for the elders who try to keep things decent. I haven't watched a Western film without a touch of sex in them. ;D Excluding the kid movies of course.. even those have kissing! LOL

^ Yosh! I am not much of a manga reader but after watching so many manga-based dramas I guess it can't be helped. I do have to read the manga. Agh, I can just imagine the buckets of tears I'll be crying if I read the manga. I hear it ends slightly different than the series, ne? I know I cried too much in the drama, and that was unexpected cause the drama had a happy feel to it.
