I disagree with you, the baker is her father even if he is not related to her biologically. Your father is the person who raises you and who is there when you need him; he is the one who takes care of you when you are sick and when you are healthy, moreover, he is the one who teaches you a lot of things and cares for you. Hauro hasnt done that, he went to jail and has been absent in her life, even if he is the biological parent, he is not her father. Imagine that you raise a child for eight years as if she was your own child, and then someone comes out of nowhere and plans to take that child away from you just because he provided the genetic code for the creation of her life; that is unfair and pretty messed up if you ask me.

While i do agree with you, i still don't think you have the right to hide the fact that he was her father, especially when Mariko wasn't even his girlfriend

For me i dont think the baker is a evil person i think he did a great thing to raise the child but, mariko never asked him of anything and im assumeing she wanted to have the baby for her and haruo if that is the case then the baker is being wrong and selfish of wanting to keep secrets from his daughter and haruo
