Great episode, once again ! Making children laugh with Kenji Miyazawa's verses is indeed an exploit. I mean, as much as his stories are fantastic, his poetic bits are hopelessly weird. Usually the translators try to cover it up by substituting meaningful text, like in this English translation of "Matasaburo" :
The wind blows, blow hard, blow harder !
Blow over the green walnuts
Blow off the sour quinces
The wind blows, blow hard, blow harder !
But if you look at the Japanese original, you'll see that it's just a series of sounds, with here and there an explanation :
Dod-do-do-do-doudo dodoudo-dodou
Aoi Kurumi mo Fukitobase
Suppai Karin mo Fukitobase
Dod-do-do-do-doudo dodoudo-dodou
Thanks for subbing !
