Drama/Movies Recommendations Thread

i've watched like EVERY drama (i once watched two dramas in one week and then i started to run out) that has come out within the past 2 or 3 years and they start blending together, but there are a few that stand out within my mind.

i have to say i really try not to like johnny's people in dramas (because the plots are always so so similar in the big sense) and i really try avoiding them..but i can't for real when it comes to kimura takuya. wow he is so amazing in pride. i think i've watched that one drama maybe completely 10 times over and over again (not counting the parts i rewatched) the third person interference was not unpleasant like in other dramas and i didn't sigh and get angry at the main character's stupidity, because i never once felt that way in this drama. nor did i feel like i was wasting my time.

i also really really liked akai ito. maybe im into the crying child growth thing. but it really did impact me. i even went as far as to read the story online while watching the drama. its a sad but it made me appreciate my family so much more.

and of course..i can't not say it. hana yori dango. cute classic.

Gokusen was also my first Japanese drama ever and it really got me hooked. You should also watch My Boss My Hero..


And don't forget the crowd favorites, Hana Yori Dango and Hana Kimi.

After that, you're well on your way to watching more dramas.

My first one was Nobuta wo produce, but now that I look back I donno what hoked me to it that made me watch all of it in 2 days.
Other Jdramas I liked a lot:
School - Life, Gokusen, Dragon Zakura, Great Teacher Onizuka (one of the classics),
Romance - Kamisama Mou Sukoshi Dake aka God Please Give Me More Time (might be a little depressing but I fall in love with it), Kimi wa Petto, Hana Yori Dango/HYD, Majo no Jouken, Zettai Kareshi (also based on a manga like HYD), Strawberry on the shortcake
Other - Koshonin, Attention Please, Liar Game, Long Love Letter (a little wierd cuz its with time travel and also romance), Unfair, Seigi no Mikata (was funny watching the big sister being mean and getting good things for it)

Bold - my more favs
Underline - a little old but I liked it

My first was 1 Litre of Tears. That one sort of got me hooked on JDoramas in general.
Attention Please is my favorite.
Check out one or both of those and see if you like them. The first is more sad while the other is hilariously fun.

i started with hana yori dango(which i never finished...) and then went to hana kimi(which was pretty funny in its own way...) and then i went to stalking Horikita Maki's dramas.... kurosagi, nobuta wo produce, etc...... and then i went to becoming a total drama freak and went down the list and watched the ones for which i liked the descriptions or the people coming out. :P

I'm actually very new to JDrama myself. Kamen Rider Kiva is the first and only one I've ever watched and I think that its awesome. You should definitely check it out.

I've only watched 3 so far - Zeni Geba (Awesome!!), 1 Litre of Tears (break out the kleenex) and just got done with Nanase Futatabi (very good). I have no clue what I'll be watching next...maybe I'll check out some of the ones that have been suggested here.
