I think it is dealing in a funny way with the situation in Japan that many people don`t get married due to work overload. So no time for meeting and getting to know someone fo a serious relationship. So a Gokon seems to be a convenient alternative to the traditional omiai or just meeting someone...though our main hero isn`t all that intersted at the beginning. I lolled much at the first Gokon at Shige..he is quite a funny character. Also the whole neighbourhood was great.

Actually such Gokon parties have swapped to Europe....also here it is getting difficult to find the right partner...;D

what are your Gokon thoughts? I think it is somewhat easier to approach someone when you are not alone...and many Gokon parties are not as formal as the one in the first ep. I am sure for a Lady it is also saver.
For me it looks fun...but I am not sure if I would attend one...
