I dunno if anyone has already done this thread or not, but I find it interesting what people's opinions are on this.
What one was better, in your opinion? Or, was it Meteor Garden that holds the favorite spot for you?

I'm...in between. I feel like the relationship between the two main characters in Hana Yori Dango was more developed and deep vs that of their Korean counterparts on Boys before Flowers. However, as much as I love MatsuJun...I'd have to say that Lee Min Ho is better looking. So, here's my picks...

BOF vs HYD
Lee Min Ho > Matsumoto Jun
Koo Hye Sun < Inoue Mao
Kim Hyun Joong < Oguri Shun
Kim Bum > Matsuda Shota
Kim Joon = Abe Tsuyoshi

But that's just me. Any other thoughts?

i finished both and my assessment is, HYD did better...

BOF is just so boring, PLOT WiSE! the special scenes wasn't justified in BOF.
the only credit is that they have the best looking f4, i mean all 4. (Taiwan's best Lead)

no sincerity esp, Jandi/Chandi's part. the facial expression seems empty?!
Kim Bum's girl did better than her!

HyunJoong is the most stupid characterization of Rui. argh.

what else? NO OFFENSE, all ive written are just mere my own judgment!

Lol, I wouldn't say he was a stupid characterization of Rui. I was just a deeper love that Rui had, I think. It was very hard to how he was with her and know how it would end. I thought the sappy line about the fire in her heart was sooo sweet...lol.
Anyway, yeah. This is all our own opinion :P

i thought hyd was also better. bof has too much problems. n they keep on going on n on... it seems lik itll never end. but in hyd, it was short n they had the exact same problems but they kept it short n simple

I enjoyed watching HYD because I feel that this is the best Handan version ever.
Although the cast for the Korean version is the best looking cast that being said
acting wise I think Min Ho got the Domyoji role down pat. I am for Inoue Mao as Makino
maybe because she is more innocent looking let's face it Jandi is a bit vintage to be
Makino. Shun is Rui (nuff said) I didn't like the Korean version focusing more on the Yi-Sung/Gaul love angle. The Korean version gave F3 complicated live except for Mimasaka Akira/Song Woo Bin why? He is my favorite F4 and I thought I would learn more about
him in the Korean version in the end I loved the Japanese Akira, he showed Akira as the true glue that holds the F4 together.

Production wise the Koran version had all the elements but forgot continuity. Remember the scene with the shoes? The pair Jandi wore was pink why did she end up getting the black shoes she threw back to Gu Jun-pyo?

Love the Manga...but I wish they'd have a special showing Mimasaka Akira and his secret affection for Makino

And I agree on the continuity thing. I also kept waiting for them to do something with the gloves that the rui character kept...but they never did.
But the love triangle between Yuki and Sujiro needed expanding, imo. How they did it in the Koren version was alright...but it did kinda leave Akira out in the cold.

"Night of the Crescent Moon" It was revealed in a special chapter that he actually had romantic feelings for Tsukushi. I am still looking for this chapter that was released in Japan in 2004.

Akira is a more complex character...

That being said. It's has happened. Mainland China is making their own version of Handan.

I saw the cast picture and I still say the Korean cast is STILL the best
looking F4 although the Makino is cuter. Wait and see...

Wow...I'm not suprised they're making one. If the US had dramas like this they'd make one too, I'm sure.

I'll have to watch and see how mainland China does it

And that's way cool that Akira is deeper than they show. Makes me like him more.

I've seen both, and I think BOF is better.
It's probably only because I loved Kim bum in it. Though I was really disappointed with the actress who played Jan Di.

Lol, it's called Meteor Rain...that's awesome. And they all look sooo young! Anyway...yeah, I liked Kim Bum...but imo HYD was better
