yea the hotels are great, in hong kong, we stayed at a 5 star hotel, and after like 3 days, they were like, we like you, do you mind if we move you guys to suites (we had 2 rooms)

About pollution in China

Well Pollution is pretty bad in Asia ~ Especially in China because it's such a fast developing country ~ But the poor are REALLY REALLY poor and the rich REALLY REALLY rich. So there's a HUGE gap.

A joke back when I was in HS ~ A teacher asked some chinese students if they liked Beijin or Vancouver. They replied Vancouver because the sky is blue but in Beijing it is grey.

aww thats sad
but, i prefer china over new york, las vegas, and a few other places
because although china does have pollution widespread
america has cities with higher concentration of pollution, but its not as widespread

^that is the main problem in all developing countries. And it wasn`t different here back in the 50s 60s..all the nenviroment awareness started here around the 80s...but since then the air got much better.
It is the same with india. I was there last year. and shocked how luxurious the rich lived and how poor the poor were...but still I would like to there again..

Silk road party sounds so fun ~~~ we had multicultural parties every sunday when I used to be in Japan because we lived in a student center so we had lots of students from many places of the world. Which was kinda cool.

Dirty doesn't always mean it's not beautiful right ~ When I went to Paris it was god-awful dirty (in my opinion of course) but it's a beautiful city ~~ India is really dirty, but there are so many places I want to see.

Yeah people have these perceptions of Community countries being scary and stuff, but I think things have changed ~ But there are still many things I'm not happy about China (but that's political and I don't want to get into it)

I went to Cuba in HighSchool and my relatives and my parent's friends were like to my parents "WHY did you did let her go to a communist country?" blah blah blah.

That pic looks like it's from a painting ~ I was told if you go to that mountain you really are taken aback by the beauty ~ Just like off the stories you read in novels and paintings.

Yeah, we have quite a lot of PhD students from all around the world and we often meet..
Thius way you really get a better impression of that country.

yeah North india was dirty, but the south is really beautiful. If you look for nature than go for Kerala! I think it is Indias best province...but sure the Taj Mahal is great!

sometimes politics are just silly. I would also go to Cuba!..and if you look at the whole...neither fully capitalistic nor communistic runs good. It is all meh...

Cuba was beautiful ~ What really sucked was when we went we were kicked out of our original hotel (because there were all these international diplomats there) ~ and put in a really bad hotel. (There were 130 students plus 10 teachers) We had lots of fun as well ~~~

Politics just gets annoyings ~ And I think that's why it has influenced me so much in my dislike of China. I mean aside from that ~ I know China is a beautiful place and worth going to visit.

yeah..my friend went to Cuba and from the pictures I could tell that is is pretty there.

Ohh bad luck with the hotel...well diplomat or students??hehe....
