I think it is a japanese-Chinese production at least.
An asian horror.

Original title: Jian gui
English title: The Eye
And the american version made 2008 or something with Jessica Alba as main charachter, with the same name.

But my first "japanese movie" was probably ringu. Later on "the ring". I love horror. Besides that im voting for Howl's moving castle, or Nausicä of the valley of the wind

Animé movies should be okay, can it be more typical japan`? O.o

If its an anime movie it would be: The strager with the sword - it had awesome graphics + a good story line.

A movie with real life actors, it would be: Lord of the rings - the two tower... Best movie for me and still today I haven't forgoten the awesomeness(if thats even a word) of this movie
