This is in addition to the First Investigative Division’s Unsolved Crimes Unit. He has two subordinates who were transferred to the unit for causing trouble. They are problematic but not mediocre. One of them is Toma Saya (Toda Erika), who is exceptionally smart and qualified for Kyoto University’s Faculty of science even though she did not attend regular and cram school. She has an IQ of 201 and an inability to read the atmosphere in social situations. Because Saya is very smart, she treats superiors disparagingly. Furthermore, people think she is a geek but she is unexpectedly feisty. She sustained serious injuries to her left arm in a fight with a criminal during her first year at Unidentified Crimes and has had her arm in a plaster cast ever since.
