Post Dream High or My Princess?

I know there is no comparison between the 2. They are completely different dramas in terms of plot, age target, direction... basically everything.
But they started airing at the same time and, from what I have read around the web, seem to have devided the audience in two "parties".

So, why not make a poll on DC too?

To be honest I'm totally biased...because I haven't started My Princess yet.
A drama has to catch my interest fast and really seem appealing to me for me to watch it while it's still airing...I can't take the impatience, but I know that if I can't wait for the next episode it's obviously a show I enjoy. My Princess doesn't really appeal to me...it's probably the whole age-range thing, as well. I learned the hard way not to keep watching a currently airing drama if I don't enjoy it wholeheartedly...even though I had all that suffering with Secret Garden because I loved it, maybe just swearing off currently airing dramas will be good for me, haha.

I don't know, I might watch it in the future, but I don't want to put time in on it when I could be watching other things, like good classics that are already complete. I'm started Paradise Ranch last night and I'm watching Dream High - I want to keep my levels low.

If someone talks me into it, I might watch My Princess. Right now though - I think I might only try it out after it is done airing.

I enjoy Dream High a lot more than I thought I would. I thought it was going to be a Korean High School Musical, but it surprised me pleasantly and I couldn't be more happy. It makes me want to keep watching. (Not just because of Samdong either...coughcough...)

Well, I apparently hate myself and have taken on three currently-airing dramas recently-- Dream High, My Princess, and Paradise Ranch xD ^^;; I have to say, out of those two, I honestly really, really look forward to new episodes each week (Paradise Ranch also, but this post didn't include that one, so...) They are really different, but both (at least in my opinion) have more to them than meets the eye, if that makes sense. I had a hard time getting into Dream High at first... (please don't hate me! but) it seemed kind of superficial and silly, and juvenile. D: But I persisted, mainly because I didn't have any other dramas I felt like starting, and after a few episodes, I realized that lo and behold! I had emotional attachments to the characters without even having realized I was forming them. Every character has so much depth to them; they have reasons for what they do, and goals that they reach for and work for no matter what... Even if the acting is a little rough sometimes (but it gets better quickly) and it drives you crazy from the cold-air breath-puffs indoors D: Dream High is very, very inspirational. Which I guess you could kind of tell from the title :P

My Princess, on the other hand, is... different xD But I still really really love it. In my opinion, at least, it is acted VERY well ( I know some others disagree, but...) and I love the twist on your average poor-girl-finds-out-she's-rich story, with the princess thing. The chemistry just is great between all the characters, and honestly, as much as I !@#!@!ohmygoodgracious LOATHE the two resident mean girls (the "other woman" and the sister) I have to say that any actor that can adequately play a character to the point of instilling such strong emotions in a viewer (even negative) is doing their job well. :3

Sorry for writing a book xD And then not even really choosing :P I suppose I'll go with Dream High, since right now I am obsessively checking for the subs of Episode 12 xD But both are really great, in my opinion. Not Secret Garden level, obviously -- but a very nice way to start out 2011. ^^

Welcome to our world, hahaha.

I agree with you a lot with Dream High. At first I didn't really feel it but later on I realized I liked it a lot more than I thought it has definitely gotten some depth since it started. The actors can be rough, (Hey, all of them are idols and have little to no acting experience - it's going to be rough on them but I think they can handle it.) but at the end of the day it is a good watch.
It does kind of make me personally feel like a bum when I see them dancing and getting sick from it and bearing the below freezing INDOOR (still majorly bugged by it) weather all for their big dream and I just sit on my bum watching them...it's motivating but I don't really think there are any Kirins in my area. If there was, I'd enroll in a heartbeat.

Secret Garden. You will forever be missed. If you think you wrote a book...never read over that topic for your own safety and sanity. LOL.

Thank you for writing comments. It's what I long for.

Honestly, at first I thought about opening a 3 choice poll and include Paradise Farm, but I felt it would have complicated matters needlessly and wouldn't have been fair towards Paradise Farm, since it seems to have a much smaller audience than the other 2.

I am, I confess it, a little pissed by my princess because it attracted a lot of viewers with false pretences, i.e. it was said to be written by the same author as Secret Garden. Which was obvious after a couple of episodes it can't possibly be, unless Kim Eun Sook has swapped brain with a koala bear. No way the witty, clever dialogues of SG or City Hall can be compared to those of My Princess. Which, mind you, can be enjoyable as any other show out there, but the style is undeniably, totally different. As a matter of fact, MP's script was written by Jang Yang Shil, Kim Eun Sook's protege, and not herself.

I adored SG because it was clever, every single line of it. I'm not expecting to find anything on this level in the very next future, but if I have to trade, then either with something brilliantly acted and directed, or with a 180° change of scenario (like dream high).

No idea - stopped watching My Princess and have not started on Dream High. Amrita, luv.. I will miss catching up with you guys here as I have an urgent dateline to adhere to. Apparently it is time I finish writing the draft of a novel I was working on since last year or the fans (and my manager) will give me hell for turning in late. It is waaaay past midnight here in Aus and I am still working. Came here for a short reprieve and glad to read the posts. Time for me to return to my work (and loads of coffee!)......*ganbatte to myself!!!*

Btw, SG spoiled everything for me. Now, I could not watch another drama and not think "This drama sucks!" In a way, it is a blessing for me for I can now take a short break from dramas and focus on the draft I am working on.
