| Ultimate Hokage | One of the things I find most interesting in Korean is the fact that Sarang = love has the same root as Saram = people, to the point now and then it's hard to tell the difference when pronounced. It reveals quite a lot about their conception of love. ![]() On a funnier note, I always have to laugh when they say something is Pisang=expensive, because that's how Malay/Indonesians call bananas. LOL

i have a korean classmate who calls me bepu.. i ask him a lot of korean words but the pronunciation was really hard and because i watch a lot of sageuk it's quite confusing since sageuks isn't like modern dramas in terms of dialouge.. some words i know but i won't repeat common ones (i picked it up through watching and pestering my friend).. ichimaseyo- don't forget pi-blood bi-rain chogup-few/ small sonen- boy charmokesumnida- thanks for the food (my friend loves to feed us korean food^^) andwe- can't bepu-best friend chakamanyo- wait a moment kajima- don't leave hajiman-but kojimal- lie sesangye- world? i think they also use it as an expression gae-dog kaja- let's go gegori- frog ghiroro- giraffe putak- request (tricky spelling) chebal- please shipo- want kamja-potato sasoom-deer noransek-yellow kitadaryo- wait (sorry i don't know the spelling) dedura- kids (again not sure of the spelling) agi- baby yobo-honey napeun-bad kot minam- flower boy olmana- how much odi- where eopso-none chogyo- excuse me; calling someone iroke- like this choro- like/similar ex. pabo choro-like a fool kachi-together i still have some words in my vocabulary but i'm not sure of the spelling and it's from sageuk anyway.. argh i can't remember the other words my friend taught me i hope he won't see this haha btw if you see some mistakes sorry and just correct me^^ Last edited by racheose; 06-01-2012 at 12:43 PM. |
