This was the first Korean drama I watched in 2010, after watching some Korean movies.I was afraid to get hooked on series, because I did not watch a lot of TV or films anyway the last many years. So many other things to do besides watching a movie.
But I started with it, and...I got hooked.

I have seen some newer and older ones by now, some of them twice.
Some very good, some just OK, and some I dropped.
Secret Garden has become a classic for me too, having it watched twice already.
But Painter of the Wind is still one of the very few Special Series I ever watched, either Western or Eastern.
The mix of drama, romance, suspense and drama, with beautiful Gayageum-play added, played by an outstanding cast gives this drama a feeling of being complete.

I watched Sungyungkwan Scandal, and liked that too, but this has a more authentic feeling in my opinion.

(By the way, no secret anymore, I posted this elsewhere too: Moon Geun Young is the best actress in this world at the moment, in my lately less-humble opinion )

^ 5 times? I'm impress and I do agree it was a great drama that worth a re-watch. Heck I might do the same thing soon. n.n

I know some people are not fond of the ending but personally I like the writer/s for being original and didn't succumb to pressure of making it satisfying to all.

Everything about this drama is breath taking; the story, the casts, the script and the drawings shown in each episode is a joy to look at. Even the relationship between each characters was beautifully made, I for one love Yun Bok and Jeong Hyang couple. >//<

Overall it is a great drama. More people should watch it.

I posted this topic more than a year ago, but I watched it already in 2010.
Only in April this year, I watched it again, for the second time.
( While I watched Secret Garden three times already, for example )

Not because I did not want to watch it, but I only want(ed) to watch every episode of The Painter Of The Wind in one go.
Not in night-shifts ( like I do with some drama's ), not in between other things, but just sit there and watch.
And enjoy

I still stick to my first post above.
As a drama it has a special place, and it confirmed me about the talents of " La MGY".

I've watched the movie adaptation of the novel and I must say it's a bit different from the drama but worth the watch all the same. ^^
