Synopsis

This drama is set in modern day where South Korea is governed by a constitutional monarchy. Lee Jae Ha (Lee Seung Ki) is a handsome and materialistic crown prince that doesn’t care about politics. He falls in love with Kim Hyang Ah (Ha Ji Won), a North Korean special forces agent.

This is another one worth picking up. It starts airing tonight and is the direct competitor of "Rooftop Prince". Both this drama and Rooftop Prince will be aired on the same days, the same time and with the same amount of episodes! Competition competition competition!

Between Micky (of Rooftop Prince) and Seung Ki, I actually prefer Seung Ki as an actor. The teasers for this drama did not portray a "comedy" feeling to it, so I failed to see where the "comedy" part comes in. Seung Ki had in the past starred in very successful romantic comedies (eg: My gf is gumiho, Shining Inheritance) and this could well be his first time starring in a more serious romantic role.

I'm currently in the mood for comedy, but I certainly will not write off King 2Hearts as it does have a more mature storyline than Rooftop Prince (from the synopsis, but we all know now that we can't rely on synopses for accurate descriptions of kdramas!). So, I am just baiting time until I get the mood back for more serious drama viewing, possibly after I'd finished the first draft of my latest novel. Anyho, do not let my "mood" deter you from picking this one up. The casts are definitely stellar and I have hopes for this one.....

Let's just see, 20 episodes from now.... who's the winner: King 2Hearts or Rooftop Prince? Seung Ki versus Micky... ROUND 1 begins tonight!

Ha Ji Won, oh have I missed you since SG! And modern monarchy, remids me of Goong XD. Although this one seems serious compared to a classical romance/comedy drama. Anyway looking forward to it! Thanks again for all the recommendations Aryael

I completely agree. Seung Ki is a better actor in my eyes but having both of these dramas going at the same time is going to be wonderful. I like to have a bit of balance, and this one looks very interesting. And as long as it has a solidly written plot line I think I'm going to love it. The point is to have a good script - they already have great actors.

Okay just started watching and I keep remembering the part where she starts naming actors that entered the army. And when she spots the picture of Hyun Bin ... okay I'm going to watch that part again it was cute.

I watched ep 2, and this drama is daebak ! if it keeps up, it may finish in my list of favs of all time !

i have to say this drama is soooo intensed... with south and north korean things... never saw such a serious army environment and really make me think things is definitely tensed... and the club m, with the bad ahjushi from the tree with deep roots is so creepy for me...though there are some comedy scene, it is definitely not the typical rom com (if it does belong to this genre- too lazy to check this fact)..
