The Girls With the White Socks Series [ One Shots ]

This was first written like a short story for a contest ( even had it here) but i wrote a sequel to it and a side story

The girls with the white socks

" It is raining, all looks so empty, the world goes numb just like us. We are empty from inside. I know you can still read my thoughts. You’ve been a bad girl Kao. Those chains are your punishment for what you have done. A dog like you should never be set free nor be allowed to disobey his master’s word. You hear me..."

" What an eerie place. And I thought I’d seen all kind of scary things in my life". Said a man watching the river. The man was detective Naoki Ringo, who has just transferred from the city in this " godforsaken place ", that he called the Meira village. He opened a bottle of water because his assistant, a 20- year-old man, from the police station , almost fainted because of the bleak view. The corpse seemed to have been sucked from inside , becoming just bones covered by small parts of flesh and skin, only the face was almost intact .The eyes were wide opened and almost out of orbit and he looked as if he was smiling. The local witnesses found him with the face downwards , under the bridge.
" So...". The detective could not finish to spell out his thoughts when the people who gathered to see what had happened started to scream "it’s their fault, those monsters...".

A man came near the corpse telling the detective that the man who died had been working in the house from the hills. Everybody called the owner- a girl with white socks. From hundred of years all the women from that house have been using long, silky and white socks. It was a hallmark set by the society of those times. They are cursed. All the men near them died or disappeared
.He warned the detective not go there, to let the things how they were. The man was scared more for his own family’s safety , the same as any other local from Meira village. Never cross the forest during the night, never stop near their house, never look in the girls’ eyes.

"Those are just superstitions and stories told by the old people." Said the detective, looking at his assistant face. "We are going there Shima. I need to hear if the owner knows something about this man. These people are all crazy ",he said to himself , looking at everybody while entering in the forest.

The house from the hill was big, old and seemed as if it was about to collapse, as the years were passing by . In front of the rusty gate was an old man, looking towards the two people who were coming slowly because of the bad weather conditions and the broken road.

" The young lady is expecting your visit Mr. Ringo", said the man with the black old cape. The house was in blackout because of the storm and all the living room was illuminated by hundreds of candles, which appeared to be livened. The old man invited those two to sit down while waiting for the lady. In a few minutes from the second floor was coming a girl with white socks. She was like a normal teenager, but in the candles’ light she looked like a specter. Her long black hair was like some black velvet and her eyes were dark, and heartless. She smiled and started to answer the detective’s questions , while outside the night and the storm were falling slow upon the old house.

"Do you wonder why local people fear us?", said the girl watching toward the window.
" Well, I am new in this village, said the detective. I don't know much about those parts. But I suppose that all those rumors are just …. rumors , pointless ,ancient dicta . "Maybe, maybe not, said the girl smiling, while pouring more tea in the cups. I'll tell you a short story I’ve heard from my mother, while we’re waiting for the storm to pass. Both became curious about the young girl’s story.

" Once upon a time there was a princess known to all like the girl with white socks. Everybody feared her, even her parents. It is said that all who look in her eyes during the sunset will die or bad things will happen to them. People started to avoid her ,saying that she might put a curse on them and the white socks ware a sign for all to avoid eye contact with her . She moved here , in this house , built especially for her, alone in isolation. But people were still dying from the same death - all their organs have been liquefied and drank by something. In spite of their terrible sufferings , they had a smile on their face . They all thought that was the little princess’ fault. She was supposed to be “ The Monster” . They came into night and burnt the house, after chaining her fragile body of a pile of the house. She screamed for help while her heart became numb and empty from inside. On sunrise she was just a burning shell. “Revenge!” that was her last word . A year later all the people from the village had been killed. All said it was a beast’s fault , others claimed that was the curse made by the princess’ family, a curse made by the women. Since that moment all women from our family were made to use the same distinguishing mark - white long socks. Well... the truth is that we ,the Ayame women , can see people’s thoughts. And yes , that is a sad story detective, we are still hated and avoided for something that people are too scare to understand.", she let her cup down and looked towards the two detectives, smiling looking towards the ceiling, where she could see a big spider’s web. The room got darker than the night while the candles one by one were burning down.

"Aren't you afraid detective? In this darkness you might just vanish . This is the "forgotten place" afterall. The detective became numb while the little princess’ dog was slowly sucking his life ....

The girls with white socks were just specters in the night, wreaking vengeance on every man that was ever passing their house’s doorstep .

The old house vanished in the mist covered by the darkness. Only the detectives screams could be heard, but slowly fading away, while the thunders became louder trying to get rid of the horror that those two men were having before their death. Since morning on hills and forest was a deep silence. Days passed and nobody saw them. The office was empty, the cups of coffee were still full since middle, all were let the same like there were before those two men leave towards the Ayame house, on the hills, beyond the sinister forest from which always on the windy days a rotten smell of death came over the small Meira village.

" On other news. In the small Meira village, were a man been fund dead under the bridge and few other local people disappeared, between them are the two police officers which were in the charge of this sinister case, detective Naoki Ringo and his assistant Shima Youske, which are been gave missing since last week. The police even still didn't comment about this out sources are saying that they are believe being dead. From the locals is known that last time were being seen limbing towards the forest to interrogate the people who lives there, the young ladies from the Ayame family, known also like the girls with the white socks. Miss Ayame said to us that she never saw them that night and been all the time with her little sister which was sick at that time with a cold. More informations ...."

" Close the tv, please. We are here to find out what happen and find any clue and not in a visit". Said a man who was looking on some papers from the detective Ringo desk.
" Read through the whole report about this bizzare murder he was working." Said the other person while he was watching the TV. They were the new police officers send from the city to investigate what happen.
Days were passing , people were stll vanishing one by one, were most the witnesses from the bridge murder case. After a rainy day the officers got a phone telling them that a new body was fund in the river. When they arrived they knew who it was. He was looking the same like the other body, sucked from inside , becoming just bones covered by small parts of flesh and skin, only the face was almost intact .The eyes were wide opened and almost out of orbit and he looked as if he was smiling.
" It seems we found detective Ringo'. Said an old man who was taking photos of the body for the investigation.
" What monster could do this?". A hard question for everyone which gathered there.
" The girls with the white socks !!" screamed a young women from the bridge. "They are heartless and sadist, filled with hate towards us. We told them to not go there. Don not believe them. Not a single word. Beware of that they called princess, that monster. I know, is true, i saw her hungry eyes through the forest leaves. It is a hideous creature"....
Nobody payed attention of that crazy women , how the police called her , soon they all forgot the incident because of a phone they got. The message was simple," We found the young man". The officers rushed to the hospital hoping that he was still alive.
When they saw him he was looking pale, skinny and watching in only one point, toward the ceiling mumbling something like' she will eat us all with only one kiss" on and on.
In the room they noticed that Miss Ayane was there two. Came to see if she could help, at the detectives request hoping that she will make a wrong move.

After only one hour she left but before that she whisper at the detective Ringo assistant ear" We're leaving at midnight. Try and catch with us. If you can. The princess is moody". After that she smile and kissed him on the cheek, telling to all that is a custom in the Ayama family. A goodbye kiss.
The two police officers got back in he village, to read the medical report about Shima since he was found.
" Pay attention. Ill start reading maybe we will find something. Said the older one.
" " The patient been found wandering naked with deep wounds on his back and chest, from were a yellow fluid was found, a kind of poison. At the moment he was found he was only saying without stopping " Darkness. Only darkness I can see." After which he was always starting screaming. " They are cursed. Those girls with the white socks. They will eat us all from inside" . After he was always scratching the wounds making the bleed. "
" Sick". Said the other one." We on't have any time to waist anymore. Will go interrogate them..." But they never finished their thoughts because the phone rang announcing them that Shima Youske room got in flames and he vanished from the hospital without nobody can see him.
They rushed to the Ayame house finding it empty, like nobody lived there in years. On a table was just a picture left like was on a purpose ...
" I'll be damn", said one of them. In the house basement found all the people who vanished. Nobody were alive.

"I think i told you to keep an eye on your dog Ayame. I had to scratch to bleed to clean up the wounds by her poison, dear sister.Is the princess behave or i'll have to punish her? She been a very bad dog playing with all those people."
"I don't see why you're complaining big brother, it was your plan. The detective had to die, the other knew to much about us. You're her master, you can control her much better than us but u never been around. So is your fault about all this

On the image left behind was in it Shima Youske, his twin sister, which in her eyes was only hate and darkness. On the back was written" 1920"

The Boy Who Lived in Darkness

" Will I ever be happy?"
"The years pass and I'll never be able to bring them back. I'm missing on so many things. Will I ever find someone to love me the way i am? I wish to find someone to make me forget the pain i feel in my soul and body"...

These were the thoughts of a young man which lived all his life in darkness, alone, without talking to someone, without having a friend. Never seeing the light of the sun or the rays of the moon, not even the little glimpse which were entering through the little holes of his cage. For the world outside, he was a monster. Afraid of his cursed golden eyes, the humans took his light with a spell that they learned from the young man clan. He has been cursed never to open his eyes, unless someone he loves kisses them. But the years were passing and nobody came and slowly he faded away without knowing the mercy of those called humans. Year after year, humans pursued and killed all the "monsters", afraid of them because they could take the form of a spider in their rage. It is said, that after 500 years , the bloodline has vanished from this world or got mixed up with human blood and was forgotten....

It’s raining again but I still can't escape the blood taste from my mouth

" It looks like they were bitten by a large animal"
" What? I can't remember having such an aggressive animal in this small town.” said the one who was taking care of the forest, while on his forehead drops of sweat started falling from his forehead. He was shocked since he entered the little room, painted in blood, which belonged to his men. From outside, the new detective came in, looking around and faking a sickness at the image in front of him.
" Bitten? The corpse looks suspicious.” Then he started mumbling something like "Only darkness inside. Bad dog.". But he couldn't finish what he was thinking, because a scream from outside took all the attention. An officer, which was looking around in the forest, found a young boy laying naked and in the fetus position, in a bed of red flowers, not looking older than seventeen years . He had beautiful long hair, but his body was filled with scars. The police noticed broken chains on his arms. In their eyes he became suspect number one. They took him out of the forest . The boy didn't fought back. He was feeling numb , not caring about what was happening around him. To weak to run away.
" Detective?” said an officer. "I see you are new here. Will you be the one interrogating him?"
"Yes. I'm detective Ayame." Said the young detective.
" Be careful. He already bite the nurse who tried to take care of him while she was washing his wounds"
"Oh... I see. So we have a stray puppy around us."
In the hospital room, the detective found the boy looking through the window, having only a sheet on him, with all the scars on his back showing. One of the officers said with a low voice" poor kid" when he turned their side.
"No! That isn't a kid anymore. Look at his golden eyes. They are piercing us. Checking us like a wild animal. Waiting to feed. I have no doubt he killed those innocent people from the forest hut. " said an other scared by the boys appearance. He still had blood on his hands, face and hair, and his golden eyes were looking like two candles, burning everyone souls.
" Let me alone with him". Said the young detective Ayame. Even if the others said that he might be dangerous the detective said he’ll be ok , because he is like him in a way, and the others should not worry.
" Yes! ... The color of the blood suits you better. I see you have the same smell like my "princess". Two stray dogs in this world. Two monsters, in the humans eyes. But you can keep your pretty face even if you get angry". Said the detective smiling.
" I didn't killed them"

The young boy started hardly telling over and over' I couldn't kill the only people who took care of me, even if they caused me pain everyday"
" Oh! So you can speak." Said the detective with sadness in his eyes. He knew what the kid was. He knew that the man who took care of the forest and his men kept the boy there since he was little. He felt pity. He was a monster himself. He had "cursed" eyes since the moment he opened them the first time. He could see the persons past , while gazing in their eyes, like an open book.

The past he saw in the boys eyes was filled with darkness and suffering. From a young age the boy was beaten because of his eyes, which were shining in dark more beautiful than the sunlight on a bright day. The one who found him in a small cave was the forest keeper . He spent there more than 250 years.

" Let me tell you a little story."
" Your father was a normal human but your mother is a monster. But before she died in pain, after that man raped her and beat her up, she was a human too. The monster side came from the hate and suffering. Because you see, she wanted revenge for all that happend. She had the hideous shape of a spider, feeding only with on humans. It seems you were found in a cocoon, inside of a human corpse. They knew that you weren't normal but from the moment you opened those beautiful eyes of yours, they got afraid recalling about a long forgotten stories, about monsters with golden eyes. So they locked you in a cage made in the basement of the hut, calling you" monster" and beating you every day. How can you tell me you loved them?

But two days ago screams could be heard from the house. You escaped the cage and what you saw was pure darkness. All the room was covered in blood and above you a huge monster in a spider shape and it looked like it had human skin. Every vein had a blue color toward green and was smelling like a rotten corpse. She was feeding from one of them while the blood was falling upon you like a heavy rain. The beast threw up the corpse in front of you and started licking your face with her long tongue and started to rub her body against yours. But one shot stopped her. Behind you, you saw a girl with black hair and black piercing eyes, looking the same as me . And she said - Down Kao. Your master will punish you again-. You ran away in the forest, scared. Because of your open wounds, you fainted in that sea of flowers. There your past film stops."
"Don't be afraid of "her". We are your family"
"Poor kid!" I'll be taking care of you. Don't be scared. I found you at last. The only child that my "princess" gave birth.
After those words the hospital burned and only one body was found. It was the body of the real detective.
"Kao! How could you forget about your son. I’m still paying for the sin i committed years ago. I was a coward and let my sister suffer. I could not oppose our father when they took you at that place where you died alone.
" I feel so bad that she lost her heart and that innocent smile" said the young women from the room. “Now she is only a beast. She forgot how beautiful she was”.
The police closed the case after a few weeks. For them, the number one suspect has died and his dead was regarded as a suicide. After another week the young detective vanished from the town, without leaving a trace.
" Mother. You are beautiful , the way you look now"
In front of the boy was a small girl in chains, not taller than 165 cm, with short black hair , which looked like she didn't had more than fifteen years, skinny and white like the milk, with big black eyes. From her fangs , some kind a liquid was falling. Near him stood the young lady and the detective.

giant spider shaped monster with human looking skin....uuuggghhhh creepy! i got goosebumps. Thats an amazing story.
