What is your religion?

Hey everybody.I know we tried this before,but I don't think we should avoid this topic.I am a person who believes in God.I would like us to discuss in a formal way our different views on the matter of faith and religion.Many of us will disagree on different issues but it is worth a shot.If even one person can walk away with a little info and guidance then it is worth it.We all have different views and standpoints but let's see if we can be polite and respectful is putting these views across...



I will start...

I am 28,a female and muslim.
I believe in God as one entity.I also believe in all the prophets that God has sent to humanity.I fast.I pray 5 times a day,sometimes more.I try to repent for any sins I have committed and I follow all of the commandments as well as other guidelines that are in a Holy Book called the Quran.This is my faith and I am open to any questions

I am 18,a male as of now not part of a certain religion

Of course i belive in one god and that prophets for sent to god for us. I do not pray on a regular basis. Yes i have committed many sin, but who hasn't. I have many question regarding religion so umm yeah. Don't know what to say from here. I am stuch between Muslim and Christianity

I am agnostic, meaning I am undecided whether God exists or not.
For me, I see evidence that God does not exist, but also an equal amount of evidence saying the opposite. At the moment, I am in atheist mode, but I switch periodically.

I have been to church, but only for the free donuts and I only pray before a big test. =O

hmmmmmmmm why do u feel like that, what makes you not belive? I think it is dumb how you take religion lightly only going to church for donuts that sso ***ed up wow....And praying before a test means you use god at your own convience. Also if you are praying you are acknowledging him......so you believe but aren't formally practicing a known religion like myself

Umm let's see... I believe in One god and his prophets.
Life is a test from god
I believe in heaven,hell, and Judgement day
I don't believe God has a son
and some other things I can't recall right now

I have a feeling this thread will get locked, just like the last one, but whatever.

I'm 17, male, and I'm agnostic.
I believe there is some sort of higher power, be it a concious being, or just a source of energy, that created life, through evolution.
The reason I don't subscribe to any specific religion, is because the "god(s)" worshipped by any given religion seem incredibly egotistical to me. I find it hard to put my faith into the existence of a presumably omnipotent being, that isn't aware of the fact that all of his children aren't necessarily capable of comprehending the concept of faith, and will punish said children, through eternal damnation, or a condescention in the cycle of reincarnation, or whatever retribution is seen to be fit by the laws of a given religion, despite the possibility that those people may have lived an exceptional life by the standards of the ancient story books published by these religions. A person can be good, but still be cast into hell for not believing in something that there is no physical proof of.

I also find the concept of an afterlife too farfetched for me, if I were to believe anything happens after death, which I don't, it would be reincarnation. But not reincarnation with the concepts of karma and Nirvana in the picture, just straight reincarnation, with souls either specific to a species, or distributed randomly throughout the population of earth.

All of that being said, I think that religion itself is an amazing thing. If you can attribute the effectiveness of any given society to one thing, it is religion.

I don't really know what I believe in I mean I guess I'll just see myself when the time comes.
