So wtf!? Does anyone think the fillers have any importance to the main story line? Do we learn anything about our main characters or are they just all a bunch of crap fillers?

It depends, if the fillers are written by the original author (such as tite kubo) then they could add to character background. If they are written by someone else entirely then they can do just the opposite, making characters act out of character.

Who cares about fillers, all they do is make it so that the anime doesn't catch up with the manga, so i guess they are important in some way.

yes they are even though it's sometimes to long and boring, but they all tell more of the whole storyline in general.

Well, I will say that Fillers are a damnation. They drag out the story, making it more and more episodes. They almost drive me insane. I'll tell you where this deep seeded hate came from........ Dragonball Z .... When I was younger I would be entranced by suspense and then... that voice..... "Will Goku save his friends in time, will the fearsome Majin Buu destroy te entire universe.... can Goku and his friends find the strength to stop him, can Goku reach Super Sayan 4? ...Find Out, Next Time On Dragon Ball Z!" and you wait and wait and then you realize, he lied. Nothing happened the next time on dragonball z. They would drag it out into another episode.... I mean come on, Majin Buu..... need I say more?! Please tell me exactly how many episodes he was in before the Majin Buu threat was over.

fillers are made with the only purpose to let the manga release new chapter, cuz an anime episode usually takes 3 or 4 manga chapter... so they have to come up with a line only in the anime, in order to have time for the manga...

so fillers have no obligations to be involved in the main story line, they are just a stop to have a little fun.... honestly I despise em...
