My ex just dropped off a wedding invitation for him and his fiancee. No, actually, I'm not even remotely upset about this. I'm happy for them both.

there are no lies. If this upset me, I would say it upset me. I had lunch with her today, and she asked my permission before inviting me. My ex and I parted on good terms. We went thru a LOT of counselling to get over the bitterness between us BEFORE we split, and when we realized that it simply wasn't going to ever get better, we agreed to end things. I'm truly happy that he won't be alone, and I hope she can help him find the healing I never could. He won't be able to hurt her the way he hurt me, she won't let him.

the only thing that really upsets me, is that I tried for 14 years to help him heal, to show him a better way of dealing with anger... with no success. Then, after I end things, he finally figures it out. I feel like a failure in that regard.
