It would definitely depend on the situation, as well as, the person.

I seem to have more tolerance with individuals outside of my family. I hate confrontation because if I can't or am not allowed to express myself verbally, I have a tendecy to lash out. Therefore, I try to keep a level head; regress and reel in my temper. If that doesn't work; "heaven help the recipient of my anger".

With my family, its "no holds barred". We will talk crap, trade insults back and forth; even take it outside. But... that's the love of family.
