Default The "Like-Button" Problem!!

Hey i just saw facebook's "Like-Button" below a movie and remembered about an article i read a few days ago.

i think this is very important, as it originally does something that might be unwanted. i blocked this function...

the script that one has to enter to get that button shown on your site contains the following lines...:

Code:
GET http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?locale=de_DE&
href=http%3A%2%2Fwww.spiegel.de%2F...00.html... HTTP/1.1
Host: http://www.facebook.com
Referer: http://www.spiegel.de/.../0,1518,758141,00.html
Cookie: datr=12...f; lu=T...XQ; c_user=100...20; sct=13...539; ...
the red part shows, wich site you visit and the purple part sends it to the facebook-server.

this means, even if your do NOT press the like-button, facebook will recieve a short package containing the website you are currently visiting and - if youre logged in to facebook in an other TAB of your browser or didnt log out the last time(the cookies in your browser dont care if you have another tab open if you want to be logged in permanently) - your current session id.

this way, they get to know, wich sites you visit, how often you visit them...

now imagine, when you surf the internet for half a year.. buy amazon-products, visit filesharing-sites frequently....
they could easily create a profile about you, containing political attitude, your financial situation, family yes/no, ....

i dont want facebook to know what i like if dont "like" it on their page!

if you want to disable this, you just need to block "third party cookies" in your browser. this requires just a few clicks.

the only problem of this is.. even if you want to "like" a video via youtube or a recipie via some cooking site... it wont work

if you doubt me or want proof (although its german) here's the heise.de link. they provide reliable information about IT.
