I hope so, or I have just major spoiled it for you. :P
This drama is indeed full of surprises. The main love story - the encounter - is played mostly in the first episodes, so there's a lot more space dedicated to the intrigue left.
I loved it all, but I think I understand your feeling. I too was somehow disappointed by the turn of events. Perhaps it's a little over the line, with all the twists, but I loved it nonetheless.
