Oh yes it think they are. Here is another Ash vs. Red example. Ash has like Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charizard, Snorlax and Lapras while Red, the manga version of Ash had Poliwrath his first partner, Pikachu, Aerodactyl, Venasaur, Snorlax and Gyrados. See somewhat different first season partners. I think Red would win against Ash in this pokemon lineup.

Trust me the anime and manga are way different. Here are examples: Ashvs.Red they the same, but Ash is anime version and Red manga version. Ash never became champion while red did. Ash went with Misty and Brock, while red went solo and became a champion. Ash does not evolve his pokemon as much as red also. That is why I like Red better.

Oh it is pokemon. Technically it's the pokemon manga called pokemon special and I like it more than the anime. Redxyellow a good couple(Ash and blondie)^_^ I thought that you were a Bleach fan and I was right!
