Kage Bunshin is a jutsu. The sharingan's specialty is to analize and copy jutsus, while the byakugan can't do that. Its as simple as that.

Anyway, Sasuke used his sharingan and you could see some sort of symbol on the bunshins, which determined that they were fakes.

sorry for double posting but i had to go back to were i was before and read my way up to hear

During naruto's training in the myobikazi sumthing while the twoo clones are there harmonising with the natural energy

he could only summon three more clones for a total five because any more after that and the other two clones couldnt concentrate

beacause of sumthing with the chakra levels

i may be a little off but correct me if iam wrong

i dont see how sharingan can tell clones apart aswell when byukugan is much better at readin chakra and stuff its probabaly cuz neji didnt know how 2 tell them apart or somethin it was the first time he saw it
