I think naruto has a good heart and is a good person.I don't think naruto ever kill one of his friends just to carry out a order , or for other reason .and also i think if he was in itachi position ,he would act in a better way and certainly he would not kill his family members or anyone else

It was one clan or a civil war that would eventually grow into a new great ninja war. If it was Naruto(not that Naruto had an entire clan to kill in the first place) he'd probably screw it up and then there goes the world.
And as for Akatsuki he was just an infiltrator.

But seriously, what could Naruto have done in that position? Said "hey, don't fight!" and expected them to stop?

i don't know ,naruto succeed to change many characters that before that, you have been thinking they'll never change,like: sasuke, neji ,gaara, negato, ,the old woman that give her life to save gaara after naruto change her feelings ,(...)

We're talking about Uchiha's here, and an entire clan.

Gaara was kinda mad, Neji suffered from his father's death, Nagato was pretty much the same as Naruto, and Chiyo... heck she was about to die anyway, might as well do something with the life she had left.

But the Uchiha? Too many people, and what had they lost? Not a single person.
They were out for revenge because of their humiliation, not because of personal loss.
Persuading a clan of such arrogant elitists would be near impossible.

And what are you talking about, Sasuke? Sasuke is still emo, the minimal change that Naruto had on him was for naught.

it was enough to change the mind of the leaders of uchiha clan.
uchiha itachi choose the easy way.
He could just defeat them, if it was absolute necessary, he could kill the uchiha leaders, to force the others uchiha members to give up.
It was so needful to slay to the last woman and child of the uchiha clan?

2.
Yeah, great, beat everyone down, kill their leaders, and hope that they'll all see the error of their ways.
As if segregating them from the village wasn't enough, you're supposed to kill their leaders(which everyone would then know about) and hope that they won't rebel in the future?
Not to mention, if the whole thing went public(which it would, survivors would surely talk) then many of the previously ignorant villagers would see the entire clan as criminals, stripping them of any honor they had. So rather than have his clan face a dishonorable death in a rebellion later(which would still destabilize the country and allow others to invade), Itachi choose to put an end to them there and then, and take the dishonor upon himself.
I hardly call that they easy way out.

if itachi was so powerful to kill every member of uchiha clan(except sasuke ,of course).
then why don't claim the leadership?
and as they leader chancel the battle.
there where so many ways to dealing whit this,and this is just my opinion,i think itachi choose the bad one.

itachi wasnt brainwashed the senju clan were also planing the extermination of the uchiha in which they would blackmail them and disgrace them, itachi had to do it for the better of the clan and the village
