It kinda feels like he was powerful just so that Sakura could prove how much she had improved, and Chiyo was just there to make it feasible to beat him since Sakura couldn't possibly be allowed to actually beat a major villain herself.

Which brings me to this question: if Sakura can't do anything on her own anyway, what was the friggin point of powering her up? She trained under a Sannin for 2.5 years and has nearly nothing to show for it. Sure her medical skills are pretty nice, but is it really that hard to master like 4 offensive jutsu as well?
Kishimoto really goes overboard with making her annoying...

They pretty much powered Sakura up so that she wouldn't be completely useless aside from her medical skill me thinks

I think Sakura is a background character just like the rest of the characters in Naruto besides Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi, Akatsuki, and the kages.

i felt he did a good job of showin just how difficult it is to beat an Akatsuki, the Gaara Vs. Deidara fight didnt really show Deidara's true abilities.
But i definitely say not a pushover, i mean to beat him u had to dodge every single attack, and that was alota different attacks, and most didnt seem to easy to dodge.

I feel what you're saying. They just wanted to show that Sakura is strong enough to punch through a Kage's iron sand.
I don't really care about Sakura, I was just analyzing Chiyo's abilities vs Sasori. Her puppets vs his is what made the match amazing.

all i can say is that sakuras only true role is to put a bit of romance into naruto. but both charecters have problems dealing with the opposite sex. lol its a shame ichigo and rukia dont make out. they would make a gud couple

She's doin a horrible job. Hinata's doin a better job than her.
