I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere if you run out of chakra you die.. But I could be mistaken.

Nope, Kakashi is dead. If he lives I'll be kinda pissed off because I like it when some of the main characters get killed off.

he could have meant he would because he wouldnt have enough chakra to escape or fight back

i honestly feel he isnt dead yet, not because i dont want him to be, but because i dont think he would have been killed off before more was resolved in the story

pein is destroying konoha, sasuke is planning on attacking as well, madara still hasnt revealed himself to the "good guys"

for all that to be going on, i dont think a main character would be killed off like that without a worthy sacrifice

jiraiya already died to give info on pein, i dont think it would be repeated like that

at least not without an epic battle like jiraiya's

Kakashi is probably still alive since we didn't see him die yet we only saw him talk with his dad so I think he is almost dyeing bt he won't die. since it isn't his time yet
