I think the fact he was willing to kill even one white Zetsu (in the process of abandoning the "lair," which looks to me like another attempt to leave N0bi behind) is symbolically significant

I think that rather than killing a Zetsu and abandoning the lair I would interpret it as testing his new eyes and heading to battle.

Only part of the chapter that was decent was Shino

Shino was kind of trolling.

Maybe the word wasn't really "looks?" That was weird. Maybe Neji's too proud-- but he could also have just said something for himself, so I don't know... took him long enough.

The footprints are not spread out, everyone is running close together. These are people that have all been at war against each other, and up to the current war, did not harbor much goodwill towards each other at all. And yet at this point they are all running closely together towards the same place. That place, literally, being where Naruto is.

However, there's more to it than that. The footprints are all in the area covered in rain. Where do footprints come from? From places people have previously walked, obviously. All these people have walked through difficult, troubled, and sorrowful times. But now the footprints are headed towards the rising sun. They are heading towards a new and brighter future. They are heading towards Naruto.

Compare that to the next pages. We see a lone set of footprints, not even in the same region as the others, as they are the only ones visible in an extremely large area. Not only that, but they are moving away from the sun, and towards the storm. The path these footprints are taking leads only to more grief and pain.

Probably the most imagery I've ever seen Kishi use.

Notice the text that says, "Their paths have yet to cross". I don't believe Sasuke and Naruto will fight yet. That leaves only a few places he could be heading; Itachi (not likely), Kabuto, ET Madara, the king/emperor dude (forgot his title), or possibly even Konoha. That could be what the "carnage" is referring to, a slaughter in the village.

Well if you go by a certain interview I seen he said he was in favor of it and planned to end it shonen ai but I believe the interview is fake. Good for you huh

He is very aware of the narusasu fandom and he does not do much in interviews to refute it as you seen he never mentioned the girls in that interview but did mention Naruto and Sasuke progress as a pair.

I have read all his interviews never once have seen anything where he confirms or denies anything but he does make quite a few comments here and there about Naruto and Sasuke that includes his databooks where he called that comical kiss passionate and would it melt Sasuke's heart, guess Kishi just like writing comical comments on things in the databook too, he brings it up 3 times calls it passionate twice. Said he done it cause a love triangle Naruto stole Sasuke's first kiss that Sakura wanted, Naruto seen Sasuke as a rival, Sakura seen Naruto as a rival and she even mentioned that Naruto gets in the way of her love life.

Although the part about Naruto getting in the way of her love life is more because he interrupts her from going after Sasuke by going after her.

But couldn't this be what Kishi means when he says it's not going to be a feel good ending? Naruto not being able to save Sasuke and Sasuke dying would not be a positive ending for Naruto. It might end with Naruto being Hokage and he at times goes around and remembers having failed to save Sasuke. I can actually see this happen, it could be very nice.

That's a very good point Beedol, but be careful! You're approaching that debate w/ logic, and logic rarely wins out in that subject.

So what do you think the chances are that when sasuke finally gets the the battle here in a few chapters he kills somebody.

I think it would be pretty awesome if sasuke just showed up and slaughtered a bunch of the good ninja. I think that would make for an epic final battle between him and naruto.

Although I seriously doubt it would happen, but it would be even more epic if he killed sakura.

Depending on who dies and how it would effect Naruto then maybe that could good but usually I dislike characters dying so I would prefer that Sasuke doesn't meet with those armies.
