maybe after his training and in sage-mode he can perform a normal rasengan without clones
and only need them for this special giant rasengan

i don't think this shows he can manage the rasengan without clones. as we know the clones disappear after the rasengan is formed. an here the rasengan is already completed...

so...i don't remember when he creates a rasengan without clones...

I saw him. There were no clones. He did not have a rasengan. Then I saw him again. He had two rasengan. And there were no clones.

That's what I'm basing my conclusion on.

yea i do feel it would be really dumb if he couldnt do a rasengan with out a clone i mean its his specialty
