I think Hidan being considered an S ranked ninja is an overestimation by itself. His jutsu is far too specific to be that dangerous to elite ninja who know about it and despite taijutsu being one of his best and most used skills in the end he still got trolled by someone absolutely horrible in it.

He still got owned by Naruto and Kakashi. The only reason Diedara survived so long is because most fighters are short to mid range. So much Ninjas have lightening affinity and can cancel all his jitsu. If Sai were to lose his bird he can still defend himself throught taijitsu, mean while Dideras hands are useless in that senario except for giving hand blowjobs.
