Which Akatsuki member do you think is Overrated? (Possible spoilers)

Sasuke almost died and had a dimensional escape plan in storage. He could see exactly what Deidara was doing which is why he could easily avoid his jutsu. If it weren't someone with such a powerful bloodline it would have been much harder to do.

With Sasori it depends on the jutsu. I find it difficult to picture someone getting close enough to him as land hits without them being genius. Chiyo had knowledge of his style and Sakura had antidotes. A jutsu would require them to avoid his attacks and he himself could just avoid the jutsu.

Getting the blood is big problem to people who don't fight carelessly. He also has to draw a circle of blood on the ground which allot of people wouldn't allow. He's immediately at a disadvantage to most long range fighters. There's just too many lower ranked ninja I can see beating him. 3 of the sound 5 for example. What other akatsuki member can boast that?

Kakazu starts a fight with his condition filled so it's not the same.

True, Vincent, that Deidara's style of fighting would make him very difficult to attack head on, something Hidan is known for, but that still doesn't make Hidan any more overrated. All it really means is that the two were experts in different fields, as we've seen hardly any evidence to support that Deidara had any melee capabilities.

How is discussing the bijuu the same as discussing the Jinchuuriki? It isn't, you simply assume it is. Last I checked, the demons and their containers were two separate beings, even if they shared the same body. So discussing one most certainly does not imply discussing the other, that is where you're twisting my words. Also, I don't have to add my claim on the bijuu onto the wiki, as my point that Kishimoto used key points from folklore as inspiration still stands.
I have proved that by listing the examples I used earlier. In fact, I'll give you one more, the fact that both Sasuke and the 3rd hokage received their respective names from a legendary ninja, Sarutobi Sasuke. The series is chalked full of evidence to support my claim, while you have STILL yet to list any evidence to counter it. The only thing you can do is continue to accuse me of speculation, because you can't prove me wrong otherwise. So until you come with some facts to support your claims or disprove mine, as far as I'm concerned this discussion is over and any accusation you continue to make is moot.

You admitted the intention of your post was implying Yugito was stronger. After you do that it makes no point to deny it. You could have made that argument before admitting that you were implying she was stronger but not afterwards. It's like a guy admitting he was stalking then saying he was there for something else.

I never said Kishimoto didn't use myth as a base(which is the only thing you proved). Your point was that the tails determine the power of the demons(which you seem to have forgotten). You haven't proved that Kishimoto used exactly that part of myth in that fashion. It's obvious that the myths were not copied down exactly. Was Orochimaru ever a follower of Jiraiya? Is Orochimaru's real name Yashagoro? Those prove there's a difference. The only thing that can count as proof is from the series or from the author.

Not the point. Hidan would have problems fighting a large amount of people. Any of team 7 and Sai for example. Well it's not set in stone with Sakura.

1. why is barely losing to the "good guys" an indication of being overrated?

2. expertise ? hidans taijutsu/combat skills are highly exceptional??? he scratched asuma on the cheek & chased kakashi around in vain...

3. the underrated deidara and sasori are capable of taking out armies...deidara would beat hidan in close range as well (clay clones + a few bombs). he is at least as effective at this range as hidan by virtue of very basic ninjutsus...

Sasori isn't that strong with his puppets.

Deidara isn't that strong either and even his most powerful Jutsu was escaped easily by Sasuke..

i mean if the lowly sasuke can barely escape him, deidara must be a scrub, right?

The post you keep referring to was one I made in response to your original speculation that Gaara could be stronger than Yugito. I've never denied saying it, I just simply stated that you were the first to bring those two into it. I never would've even mentioned them had you not brought them into the discussion. The point is clear, you started the implication, I merely responded to it. Stop trying to renege on your words, if you said it then admit it, because anyone can go back and read it.

No he didn't name Orochimaru Yashagoro and make him Jiraiya's servant. Of course Kishimoto wouldn't go that far, it'd just be plagiarizing, and any self respecting artists wouldn't do that. Instead he named Orochimaru after the 8-headed snake creature that Susanoo killed (would you look at that, another reference to Itachi sealing Orochimaru away with a technique of the same name), and gave him abilities that had to do with snakes. Once again, this proves the fact that he used critical aspects from folklore as inspiration, which again, you can't disprove. If the author has said he drew inspiration from folklore, and the proof is practically etched throughout the series, then you have your proof right there. End of discussion.

I still think he's overrated. I just hate how everyone thinks Deidara is overrated. It's like, I have a disease where my brain swells up like a balloon when I see someone talking shit about Deidara. So I just felt like saying that.
