Which Akatsuki member do you think is Overrated? (Possible spoilers)

Which makes your point invalid, he has his weapon, he has his means of attacking, thus he isn't weak nor overrated.

Except where his sword decides to go AWOL because he likes munching on Bijuu chakra, but that's an incredibly rare occurance seeing as it's not happened before, not even with the kyuubi chakra.

Well that's not entirely true. I think he's overated in terms of abilities. (weapon usage) His weapon looks great but, imo, you can't compare it with the destructive force from the ..let's say.. eyes from Itachi which are by far stronger then a sword with some capabilities.

+ kurenai could still tackle him with some genjutsu..but..that's just based on whisfull thinking

regenerate a ripped open chest either, he blocks and absorbs taijutsu and chakra related attacks, he was shown to have awesome reflexes, he can create that giant water bubble which follows the enemy, if they can't breath underwater they're at a disadvantage, plus the lower mobility rate underwater.

Comparing Kisame's Samehada to Itachi's sharingan is an unfair comparison, based on the fact that one is simply a weapon with limited abilities, while the other is a bloodline limit with multiple capabilities. Even if you wanted to compare them, you'd have to do it in their respective fields (such as neutralizing chakra or copying/neutralizing ninjutsu). Kurenai is certainly very talented when it comes to genjutsu, but Kisame being as experienced as he is, as well as being Itachi's partner (who probably exceeds Kurenai in the genjutsu department) and having a greater chakra supply, would probably know what to look for and perhaps even be able to break her genjutsu.

You've got some good points here, Kisame has definitely shown us he's far more capable with/without the use of his sword. Keep in mind though that the sword is the major source of his strength, and was the main reason he was able to perform the actions contained in your spoiler. It's debatable whether or not Kisame could perform those same actions without the intervention of Samehada. The actions of his weapon as of late though do seem incedibly sudden and odd as well.

I couldn't agree more...but it's ''somewhat decided'' that a weapon is also a part of ones ability so that makes this comparison kind of valid I suppose....anyway..apart from that it's obviously your own opinion + motives which one is overrated and that's a good thing

I really like to see her in the future...or another genjutsu ninja (apart from sasuke and itachi ofcourse)..but that's ofcourse another ''discussion''

I agree with you on both of those accounts. With the comparison issue, like I said, it depends upon the point of view. Both have abilities that make them unique to a given situation, but I think it's still a bit unrealistic to compare the two without giving a proper scenario. I do respect your opinion on this as well, NL-JA (what does that stand for anyway?)

when did Samehade taste the kyuubi's chakra, i remember it tasting Naruto's chakra when they went to that hotel.

and i think that kinda shows how strong Kisame is possibly without the Samehade if he isnt worried at all about the word leaving him, straight field goaled that thang. lol
