And what do you mean no elemental recomposition for fire jutsu? The use of an elemental jutsu requires element manipulation.
Also, as I said but didn't explain properly, he might have focused on Lightning because he thought Itachi would know all about Fire jutsus.

If you couldn't learn a jutsu without having an affinity for it, and Kakashi is stated on the wiki and in the manga as being lightning, then how was he able to use the Great Fireball technique and the Mizu bunshin, the latter of which he copied and used in mid battle? If it's just about elemental affinity, then there would be no ninjas with multiple jutsu types except for Rin'negan users.
Hence why I said, with the right amount of training, a ninja could learn a jutsu regardless of whether or not they had an affinity for it. As Sasuke was too young to know anything about elemental affinity or recomposition when he learned the Great Fireball technique, it's easy to believe that the justsu can be performed simply by molding chakra and performing the right hand signs.

As for Sasuke focusing on lightning jutsu in order to fight Itachi, your reason is just a theory, it can't really be proven. He could've focused on Lightning because it was his strong point because it was his affinity, rather than because Itachi knew fire jutsu.

There's a little inconsitency with my first post, sorry about that. I reverted to using just "affinity" for what I previously regarded as "primary affinity" to compensate for the fact that my post wasn't agreeing with terminology.
So to correct that, you can't use an elemental jutsu without having that element in your arsenal. Affinity would be your primary, natural element.

Now then, on to the points:
1. He can't. That was anime-only, and can be considered filler. It was before he properly explained elements, so the studio probably thought he could use any jutsu he'd ever copied or something.

2. His second element is water, I forgot to write that when affinity was listed, it was under "elements" and then affinity was written in parenthesis after Lightning. That was when I decided to correct my terminology.

3. Perhaps, but I find it easier to assume that he could do it simply because his fire element was hereditary and "active" so to speak. If someone else tried that technique without Fire in their elemental arsenal, I'd say nothing would happen.

4. I know it's just a theory and can't be proven(at the moment), exactly the same as yours.


And Vega, he already has a "wind shuriken" themed jutsu, but I think I get your point

Really? That's peculiar, I'll have to go research and look that up. I know spatial recomposition is what Sasuke uses to perform the chidori blade that he used on Orochimaru.

Alright, I went to the Naruto wiki site to look at the information on the site, and I've discovered some things.

1) While Kakashi had some water based jutsu that was anime only, the water clone technique was used by him in both anime/manga (this is because any technique used only in the anime is listed in parenthesis as "anime only"). However, it also states that he has 3 chakra nature types (4 in the anime): Lightning (primary), with Earth and Water as secondary types.

2) Sasuke is stated as having 3 chakra nature types: Fire, lightning, and a new Blaze type (which seeming enhances his fire jutsus). As his lightning affinity was not gained until he learned the Chidori, I'll concede to your point that his original nature was indeed fire, being that he was an Uchiha and most Uchiha were fire types.

And yeah the Blaze type seems to be kind of an enhanced fire jutsu, seeing as it uses Amaterasu fire instead of "normal" fire.
