I mean, we can surmise about Kakashi's Sharingan having been Obito's and the natural potential of "Obito's" Sharingan? I guess?

Well the one way in which to get MS was revealed as: killing the person closest to you/best friend etc. but we assume that Kakashi didn't do this. So my question was how?
I'm not sure the potential in Obito would count because the Sharingan is just like a tool and its not about the potential of the tool but its about that of the user who could use the tool to its full potential. Well thats how I think of it anyway. I can't really think of a plausible theory for how Kakashi got his though.

Sounds pretty legit Feyblade. Has there been any indication that Madara's space/time manipulation ability is apart of his sharingan? I don't think there has. So maybe he has a mangekyou like Kakashis. But he can do it incredibly fast because he's had so much experience with his sharingan.

I agree, Karyu, it is a shaky theory...I was grasping at straws! =]

I wonder if Madara may reveal another way to get MS...only Itachi said that to Sasuke and you know, that always bothered me, with the big reveal that Itachi was a double agent and actually "good," so to speak, that he killed his cousin (whose name I forget). I mean, I guess he would've gotten killed anyway, but, yeah.

It could be because Kakashi mentioned that its more advance than the 4th Hokage's one because he used no visible hand signs and tattoos to do it. So we could assume its one of his eye techniques.

He got it right when he killed Itachi. He didn't have any chance to use it until that Amaterasu trap was unleashed on Madara.
And Itachi got his when he killed his best friend, he trained with it while he was getting ready to execute the Uchiha massacre plan.

First time we saw Kakashi use it was on Deidara.
But when did he unlock it must be long before.

here he says that all close persons to him were killed. By "all" I assume friends and family.
Who would be the one he killed to obtain it ?
We saw in the Gaiden that he obtained the normal sharingan by obito. So it must be after that. And we saw how obito was killed. But we never saw how Rin was killed. Maybe he killed her for some reason?
My guess would be that after the Naruto vs Pain fight we will see a second Kakashi gaiden considering Kakashi's life/death situation.

There is NO way Kakashi killed anyone to get the MS. Hmmph.

I guess we'll see a second Gaiden too but I agree with Fey, I doubt Kakashi would kill Rin to obtain his MS. After all the charater development we've seen from him I think its a fair assumption to make that he wouldn't.

If he was in a situation that could not have done else, yes there is imo.
We saw the gaiden where Obito one of his 2 best friends were killed.
And he made the promise of protecting Rin no matter what. Yet Rin was killed.
She was important to him as much as obito, and thats what makes me think we are going to see a second gaiden.
