I don't think both main characters dying would be a typical ending in a shounen (if they both die) (would be typical for yaoi though )

Tobi controlling everything there would be no one to fight him he would win and it would be over and that would be boring not to mention non emotional.

Do you prefer manga or anime?

Depends. If the anime adapts the manga without altering the storyline, and is generally well animated, then I prefer the anime.
So I almost always prefer the manga.

When they don't alter the story or disrupt its flow with fillers/recaps, they generally do fine with the animation for Naruto these days and it plays out nicely.

So yeah, with the exception of certain sequences, generally I prefer the manga.

I'm guessing he just got all cocky and started brandishing the talisman from a distance, but he'd still need to get up close to snake it into Itachi's Edo body.

1. Actually it was stated that Itachi negotiated with "Madara" to not destroy the village, and only destroy the Uchiha clan that "Madara" also had a grudge against. Originally "Madara" seems to have been thinking continuing what he failed to do when Naruto was born, in other words destroy all of the village. So we do know more or less why he was there.
2. I guess you are probably right.

I am an American Citizen and an Australian resident.

But there usually are lots of other good things if you are a citizen of the country you live in, you have more rights and so, for example right to vote.

Exactly, and let's not forget, as Mreaper pointed out, that Orochimaru also did the same. All leaders/villains/bosses tend to let their subordinates do the majority of the work. Sure, it may seem cowardly at first, but it's actually a much more strategic way of handling things. It's like playing chess, you use the smaller, weaker pieces to set up the big moves while keeping your royal pieces protected. You don't just go skipping out on the board with your King like "sit back pawns, I got this!".

I hope you are sarcastic. I hardly see Sasuke being capable of defeating Pain but defeating one of the paths is definetely possible.

That depends but generally I prefer anime. Seeing who is talking, hearing them talking, hearing the music in the series plus the opening and ending sequences, seeing everything move, seeing everything in colour and so on are just some of the things that manga lacks (actually it happens from time to time that I can't make out what is happening or who is talking because the speech bubble is strangely positioned or the picture is too small and so on and having colour not only makes things and characters look better but also makes it easier to see what is happening or to see which characters are in the scene. There are many manga where several characters looks to much alike each other, especially in black and white, so I have a hard time understanding the scene). But I hate when anime doesn't follow the manga (though I got to admit there are times when the anime is better than the manga, storywise, but it is very rare) and/or ends a long while before the manga.
