Berserk - awesome concept, even more awesome art. Haven't read or watched, so I can't say much on it.
Gantz - seen it. Have to disagree with you, it's pretty boring as shit in the long run. Naruto is much more gripping.
Hajime no Ippo - this series is being squeezed dry for all it's got. It should've ended a long time ago imo. The pacing sucks, the story got old and repetitive a long time ago.

The only show I can accept as being better than Naruto is One Piece and only by a little.

Everyone doesnt want to fill their void with ecchi etc. A great story can be told without gratuitous fan service or hentai like interactions. Perhaps their void isnt so much as stupid as it is more diverse than it is of those who settle for those kinds of things.

the gantz anime is bad but the manga is insanely epic... its ending this year though

I haven't seen any noticeable drop in quality in Hajime no Ippo. It moves slow but I don't read it chapter to chapter as they come out anyway.

I still like Hajime No Ippo. Takamura is awesome despite his questionable pranks. Ippo is about to make his big push. Its a good sports manga/anime.

HSDK - It's a bit more than ecchi, in fact the ecchi isn't even all that frequent, unlike other series that use it. And those series, such as Air Gear and Tenjho Tenge, happen to be very epic themselves, regardless of the amount of ecchi content. The plot of HSDK, however, is very awesome, and the fight scenes themselves are really good. Couple that with a mangaka that actually devotes screen time to not just one or two main characters, but side characters also. Something that even Kishimoto struggles with at times. Only someone who can't see past something as small as minor ecchi scenes would overlook everything else.

The same with Gantz, the story line is unique and very different from typical manga, and the artwork is fantastic. And there's a reason Hajime no Ippo has been running for the number of years it has, like Beserk, it's just that good.

Is it? One Piece seems to be doing just fine squarely in the center of the typical shounen demographic w/out the extra stuff. I wouldnt point a twelve yr old kid towards Berserk for instance no matter how great it is/was. They can find that on their own. But thats just me. Full Metal Alchemist is great also without the extra and still deals with darker concepts. Speaking of which I need to finish Brotherhood.

Well what you're talking about all boils down to personal tastes and specifics, not general overall information like what was originally asked for. And generally I would rate those manga as being on par with or better than Naruto, ecchi content or not.

I dont consider Berserk ecchi lol. At times its like a well written hentai. I never said HSDK wasnt great as it is even with the stuff that does nothing for it. But if someone was coming off of Naruto I'd point them towards something thats along similiar lines thats well written like One Piece if they werent already into it. Thats all I'm saying.
