I, personally, think that Tobi is Madara's son. I mean, look at what's been revealed so far: First- he knew enough about Madara to imitate him well enough that everyone except Kabuto was fooled. That would mean that he would have to be well acquainted with Madara himself, which of course he would be as his son. Second- Madara had knowledge of him and of his plan, which considering that Madara's been dead for a while is pretty impressive. Obviously, though, Madara should know his own son, and trust him enough to carry out the plan that Madara not-so-subtly hinted that he made. Third- the brief glimpses of his face under the mask show that he is an older man, which means he's gotta be at least Tsunade's age, if not older. This, of course, would correlate well with the theory that he is the son of Madara, considering that Tsunade is the granddaughter of Harashima and she's at least fifty. Fourth- despite never revealing one of his own, he is well acquainted with the intricacies of the Mangenkyo Sharingan, well enough to even find a way to avoid Amaterasu's flames. Fathers do generally pass on secrets like these to their sons, and Madara WAS (along with Izuna) one of the first to awaken his Mangenkyo, and the first to gain the Eternal Magenkyo. So, of course his son would learn how the Mangenkyo works. Fifth- he knew that even as an Uchiha he would be able to handle the Rinnegan and use its techniques, even if he didn't awaken one of his own. Considering that Madara revealed that he didn't get his Rinnegan (which, btw, really ticks me off to go on a rant... but, I'll save that for later) until shortly before his death, this would indicate that Tobi more than likely would have been around him at that particular point in time... which as a son he would've been, if nothing more than to make sure that his father got a proper burial. And even if these don't convince you, there is this to consider- the entire series seems to favor using the father/son connection as major plot points (Minato and Naruto being the most prominent, although Kakashi and his dad are a good example as well), so having Tobi be Madara's son would fit way too well with this. Well, those are my thoughts, anyway..

It's not impossible, if he survived long after the battle with Hashirama he might well have formed a family in secret.

no, no new chapters in jump this week. We've discussed the possibility Tobi could be Madara's son before (probably in the Tobi thread itself as well as here). I suggested once that Madara might have gotten involved with some woman from the Senju clan in secret. Or even an Uzumaki. Either of those scenarios would have a lot of potential to breed some pretty powerful resentment in their offspring (i.e. Tobi). However most of what you've mentioned, pimp, is only how it could fit. There's not really much in the way of evidence there (not even circumstantial). That he's old, for example, doesn't really mean anything other than that he's old. We don't even know if he's around the same age as Tsunade. For all we know he could be much older/younger, you know? That he knows Madara well enough to imitate him is meaningless except to others who would know him that well, themselves. How many such people are there? Probably only Oonoki and the ET Zombies (lol! band name, anyone? ). I do like the father-son theme you mentioned but I don't think it's nearly as important to the series as you say. You get what I mean, I hope.Anyway, it's still a valid theory, there's just not much behind it yet.
