Brooks line never makes me laugh. Maybe thats because im not all the time easy to please.

On reflection I would agree with you there. I thought his lines highlighted the importance of life. What was so touching about it was that even in midst of death, having been impaled and already expressing his desire to live. He harboured no bitterness, no resentment.

And he remained true to what it was that he wanted from life which was to be loved and find out if it was good he was ever born.

Out of all the desires a man could have, to be content with such a small thing. That is the most touching thing of all.

It now makes me wonder if Luffy broke down crying because it was such a touching speach, or because he was in deep mourning.
