Default Fantasy Zero OOC Thread

Welcome to Fantasy Zero Online, a virtual fantasy experience unlike any you've had before. If this is your first time here, please review the user guide below:

Fantasy Zero is the story of a future age where an emerging game company has developed technology that allows users to put on a helmet and enter the game. This has been most popular and successful with Fantasy Zero, an MMORPG used by people of all ages around the world. However, one day the system malfunctions, and players find themselves unable to exit the game. As people die in the game and are subsequently turned into vegetables in the real world, the players are faced with a very dangerous choice: find the virus and stop the hacker who has infiltrated the system, or have your mind scattered across cyberspace.

GameMasters:
Prisma*Illya - Head GM
Animefan Nl - Assistant GM

Rules:
  • No godmoding or metagaming.
  • No arguing with the GMs. You can ask questions and bring up points to discuss, but our word (especially mine) is final so don't harrass us for making a decision you don't like.
  • Laziness is not tolerated. I understand when people have reasons they can't make post or make it on, but "I don't feel like it" is not a valid excuse. Due to the nature of this game, it is very easy to kill off players when needed, and this will be enforced. If you can't post, please let Animefan Nl or myself know.


Fantasy Zero allows players to create a character from one of eight classes, each with its own strengths and weakenesses. They are:

Character Classes

Alchemist
By combining the chemistry of the strange materials of this world along with some magic they can create various ways of combat. Make elixers for temporary boosts or potions to use against your enemies. Create items with special powers and properties. Imagination is the limit.

Class skill: Alteration - change the physical properties of objects you touch to bend your environment to your will.



Assassin
Fast and flexible fighters of the shadows. Use stealth to surprise your opponents and poisons, knives or throwing daggers to take down your foes.

Class skill: Presence Concealment - hide your appearance and presence from foes for ease of navigation or to sneak up on enemies.



Channeler
Magic users who can travel across the plain of spirits. Call forth powerful spirits to fight for you, or channel their spirits to gain their powers for a short amount of time.
Note: Only one summon or channeled spirit can be out at a time.

Class Skill: Attunement - sense the presence of monsters and enemies before they appear to avoid fights or plan ambushes.



Gladiator
Powerhouse fighters who shun magic for purely physical skill. Can use two-handed weapons or dual-wield single-handed weapons.

Class Skill: Eternal Arms Mastery - can travel with different types of weapons and switch them at will.



Guardian
A defensive warrior who uses a sword and shield, as well as defensive magic to protect himself and his allies.

Class Skill: Protective Aura - gain a boost in defense for you and your nearby allies.



Mage
Masters of the arcane arts with access to vast ranges of spells. Become a master of one type of magic or practitioner of multiple arts. Use staffs and tomes to help channel power.

Class Skill: Spell Mastery - gives the power to access many forms of magic. The more focused your form of magic is, the stronger it becomes.



Ranger
Warriors of the wild who fight with bows and long knives. Use different types of arrows and bow techniques to overpower your enemies. Employ tracking skills to find your way in the hardest environment and the power of nature to heal your allies.

Class Skill: Tamer - tame beasts to fight alongside you as companions.



Templar
A light melee warrior who uses a one-handed weapon like a sword, rapiers, and others. Specializes in one type of offensive magic along with his melee skills and speed to overwhelm your foes.

Class Skill: Magic Resistance - take less damage from magical attacks.



Magic

Magic comes in several forms in the world of Fantasy Zero. They are divided into two categories: offensive and defensive magic. Each contains a vast number of discplines and spells, categorized as such:

Offensive
Fire Magic - conjures fire in various forms to smote enemies
Water Magic - manipulates water and ice to attack enemies
Air Magic - calls upon the powers of wind and lightning to best enemies
Earth Magic - summons the powers of the earth and its bounty to overwhelm foes
Dark Magic - unleash curses and the power of darkness on foes; usually contain secondary effects that add negative status effects to the target.
Light Magic - wield the powers of light and unleash holy spells on your foes; usually contain secondary effects that add positive status effects to the caster.
Meta Magic (Mage-class exclusive) - uses the raw power of magic (non-elemental) to destroy foes or bend the world to their choosing

Defensive
Buffing Magic - support your allies by increasing their stats
Barrier Magic - create shields and barriers to defend you and your allies from physical and magical attacks
Healing Magic - restore the wounds and fatigue of you and your allies

Character Creation

If you are a first-time member, please submit the following application to enter Fantasy Zero. When choosing a character, keep in mind the specifications above. Fantasy Zero allows a free growth system that allows you to customize your skills in accordance with class regulations and power them up as you gain experience points. Characters can even store up three experience points to gain a new skill!

How realistic is inventory? It seems like it would severely limit the Gladiator's ability to carry multiple weapons.

It's within reason. You can't carry three axes, a club, a sword, and a mace. Obviously there isn't enough room. But if you can figure out a place for them, you can carry multiple weapons to your choosing.

Hmm well I suppose it's probably a good idea. :0 I don't anticipate it coming up much but I guess it's good to keep track of things just in case.
