In the year 2476, an Arrancar army descended upon the Human city of San Francisco. By the time the G13 - the Gotei 13's descendant - could respond to this unprovoked attack, the vast majority of the innocent human population had been slaughtered, their rotting remains strewn throughout the streets they once called home. In the face of such unfathomable, rampaging hatred, many of the Shinigami defenders fled the field, or turned against their allies to join up with the vicious Arrancar. Many more were slaughtered.Even the timely arrival of a powerful, yet unknown Quincy was not enough to turn the tides. Once they had what they wanted, the Arrancar retreated back into Hueco Mundo, leaving the crippled G13 to lick their wounds. What followed, surprised nobody. With so many Shinigami lost, led by a loathsome creature of incalculable strength and power - a Vacio Dios -, the Arrancar legion surged into Soul Society; an abysmal crimson-tidal wave drowning the innocent souls in Rukongai before devouring the Seireitei. Despite having marshaled the largest army of Shinigami that had ever been raised, the G13 was buried alive beneath the sheer power and numbers of the Arrancar. Beset on all sides by an infinite hatred, Captain - Commander Urahara Kisuke saw only one way forward. He gathered the remaining Shinigami into his office; the very pinnacle of his glorious tower. Using a device he had rashly slapped together as the crimson tide rolled in, he began to drain the reiatsu of every being in the room. In total, it would amount to the combined reiatsu of 8 Captain - level Shinigami, and would be distributed as such. It would allow the transformation of normal humans into powerful shinigami. However, while it did transfer reiatsu to them, it did not transfer specific abilities. So while the newly awakened Shinigami would have tremendous reiatsu, it would be their own inner spirit that was manifested, not the spirits of the shinigami who were sacrificed. In doing so, the remaining Shinigami, including Urahara himself, sacrificed their lives. His final act, was to open a Senkaimon gate right there in his office, and cast the the charged device into the human world. The ravenous Arrancar arrived just in time to witness this final act of defiance, before Kisuke's body dissolved into the ether with his compatriots. In honour of Kisuke's sacrifice, as it plunged into the human world the device morphed into an old wooden cane, long since out of date in the technologically advanced Human World. Unfortunately, in his dying state, Kisuke wasn't able, nor willing, to properly choose the location where his device would land. As a result, the cane tumbled out of the gate and straight down onto the festering ruins of San Francisco. It has been 50 years since that ominous conclusion of the G13. Knowing that the Arrancar would seek the device, and knowing that if a group of humans were awakened by the device that same evening, the new generation of Shinigami would be exterminated and the plan would fail. So, just before activation, Kisuke rigged the device with two provisions, to ensure the plan's success: First, the device would lie dormant in the human world for half a century. Upon activation, it would distribute the energy residing within the first 8 humans who approached it, transforming them into Shinigami. However, to ensure that the new generation wasn't born, and hunted down, one after the other, the device would sever the souls of the first 8 humans who approached it, and would store them until it contained all 8 souls. Secondly, knowing that Humans would likely abuse the powers and knowledge of a Captain-class Shinigami if it was dumped upon them all at once, the awakened Shinigami would start at a low level, with only their Shikai unlocked for them, and must gradually earn their full power and knowledge. However, in the last 50 years, new events have rendered the spiritual and human realms nearly unrecognizable from what they were on the morning of the San Francisco invasion. Witnessing the devastation inflicted upon their brethren in San Francisco, every government across the world united under a single banner, and devoted their former military budgets into defending against further incursions by the spirit realm. This new funding resulted in massively upgraded anti-spirit weapons, putting the average human soldier on par with an Adjuchas-class Arrancar in terms of sheer killing power. The officers, known as "Seers", possess technology on par with Vasto-lorde class Arrancar. With this new technology, compounded with bureaucratic freedom, the new force was dubbed the "SOF - Special Operations Force". However, with unilateral decision making and unparalleled military might, the SOF quickly adopted a tyrannical stand point. Too afraid to divide the human race against itself, thus opening it up to another Arrancar onslaught, nobody was prepared to stand against these hard-line soldiers. More importantly, with the sudden unity of the international community, Humanity had become considerably more prosperous, with a drastically smaller gap between the wealthy and poor. This provided even less incentive for people to rebel against the SOF. Unfortunately, due to the Shinigami presence at the San Francisco attack, followed by the eerie silence in Soul Society, the SOF has grouped all Shinigami with the Arrancar as "Enemies to be Exterminated.". With nobody left to defend the honour of the Shinigami, this will pose an additional, unforeseen obstacle for whomsoever unlocks the device. In the Spirit realms, the Arrancar have completely transformed Soul Society, with plus souls locked in thick cages, to be devoured later. A small group of plus souls, with a greater than average reiatsu - souls that would have become Shinigami, had the G13 not been eradicated - reside within the forest, living as pilgrims and refugees. However, without solid leadership, they are always forced to flee if even a single Arrancar wanders into the forest. In Hueco Mundo, the urban wasteland has largely replaced the vast desert that once agelessly drifted beneath the ivory moonlight. With more souls than ever to devour, the hollow population has exploded, dragging with it the population of menos and Arrancar. Nobody has any idea how many legions now lie in waiting in the heart of that forest of metal pillars. Lingering at the pinnacle of his ivory tower, a shimmering blade so immense it parts the endless night, the Vacio Dios bides his time. What he waits for, not even his disciples know for certain. In the year 2526, the year of the awakening, the device waits silently in the ruins of San Francisco. While much of the debris and destruction has been cleared, the once-famous Fisherman's Wharf remains a sarcophagus of refuse and carrion; entombing the powerful device. On their yearly pilgrimage to the ruins of San Francisco - an annual event that schools in every corner of the globe enforce upon their students - 8 teenagers, of varying ages and backgrounds, sneak away from their guided tour of the desiccated city to investigate the still-ruined areas around Fisherman's wharf for themselves. Some use it as an opportunity to escape irritating classmates, others use it to find a deeper connection to the cataclysm. All reasons aside, every one of them felt a faint, unquenchable, perpetual humming in the air around Fisherman's wharf, that seemed to become more persistent the deeper they explored. It was an alluring hum, meant to pull them deeper. However, the SOF detachments accompanying their schools are not easily fooled, and have noted the suddenly absent students, and dispatched soldiers to find them. In addition to this, the CO of the local SOF detachment, a Seer himself, has also noticed the unnatural humming this glorious morning. Fearful of an anniversary attack, he quietly begins organizing his soldiers, while dispatching a tank brigade into Fisherman's Wharf, with orders to kill any spiritual being they come across. Seiryokugan have existed since the dawn of shinigami, though by the standards of the Old Gotei and the Central 46, they were frowned upon; viewed as a shinigami perversion of the Hollow’s Cero, a Seiryokugan were weeded out of the Gotei throughout history. A Seiryokugan, in basic terms, is a Zanpkuto whose sealed form is a ranged weapon. In the old days of the Gotei, these were often things like throwing stars, blow darts, and bows, however, in the year 2526, a large majority of Shinigami have no recollection of such ancient weapons, with guns being so prevalent in human society. This is partially the reason why the G13 accept Seiryokugan as spirit manifestations so openly now; many shinigami have never even considered a sword as a weapon. In modern day, the most common sealed Seiryokugan manifestation is a handgun. The ammunition fired by a Seiryokugan is as plentiful as the users Reiatsu, and varies in form from Shinigami to Shinigami. Sometimes ammunition manifests itself as reiatsu blasts, while other times it condenses into an actual physical form similar to a bullet.
Zanpakuto Spoiler
For the majority of Soul Society’s history, Zanpakuto have been the only accepted weapon of a Shinigami. Originally meaning “Soul Cutter Sword”, the term Zanpakuto has come to be a label for all spirit manifestations that are bladed in their sealed form. While the Gotei 13 only accepted Shinigami with Zanpakuto’s, the G13 is more lax, however, will always accept a Shinigami with a Zanpakuto as a weapon. In modern day, the year 2526, traditional Katanas are no longer the most common sealed form of a Zanpakuto. Non-traditional bladed weapons and weapons such as beam sabers have become so common in the Human World that there is a natural overlap in Soul Society.

The Shikai is the second form (or first "upgraded" form) available to a Zanpakuto or Seiryokugan. To activate it, the Shinigami needs to learn the name of their Zanpakuto or Seiryokugan. This is not as easy as simply picking a name, as the living spirit of the weapon already has its own name. Therefore, the Shinigami must be able to communicate and harmonize with their weapon effectively, which requires being able to speak to the spirit within its world.
Bankai Spoiler
The Bankai is the second and final upgraded form of a Zanpakuto or Seiryokugan. To achieve Bankai, one must be able to materialize and subjugate their weapon’s spirit. Materialization means the opposite of getting dragged into the inner world. Instead the wielder needs to summon the Zanpakuto or Seiryokugan’s spirit into the physical world. It usually takes 10 years or more to achieve, plus the experience needed to master it. The power and forms of Shikai and Bankai are dependent on the weapon. They also vary according to the wielder's strength and training. But in general, one's power can grow 5 to 10 times greater. Only the strongest Shinigami can use it. It is also the ultimate technique of a Zanpakuto or Seiryokugan. Even among the exceptionally talented, Bankai is very rare. Vizard Spoiler
Having begun as Shinigami, the Vizard appear entirely Human and bar those times where they are using their powers are indistinguishable from ordinary Shinigami. To gain access to their Hollow powers, a Vizard dons a Hollow mask. This allows them to augment their Shinigami abilities with Hollow powers, as well as giving them access to some of the more generic Hollow abilities. Their spiritual pressure likewise changes into a mix of Hollow and Shinigami. This process of donning one's Hollow mask is referred to as Hollowfication.

1. Sai (塞, Restrain) Locks a target's arms in place behind their back. Incantation: unknown. 4. Hainawa (這縄, Crawling Rope) An energy rope entangles the target's arms. Incantation: unknown. 8. Seki (斥, Repulse) Creates a round shield that seems to temporarily paralyze and repel whatever strikes it. Incantation: unknown 9. Geki (撃, Strike) Engulfs the target in red light, completely paralyzing them. Incantation: "Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini!! Look upon yourself with horror and then claw out your own throat!" ("自壊せよロンダニーニの黒犬!! 一読し・焼き払い・自ら喉を掻き切るがいい!") 9. Hōrin (Disintegrating Circle) Causes an orange hued tendril with spiraling yellow patterns to erupt from the users hand and attempt to trap a target. the end of it remains in the hands of the user allowing them to control the path of the tendril before and after capture. The Kidō is able to connect with another one of itself if both have captured a target and bind them together. Incantation: "Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini!! Look upon yourself with horror and tear out your own throat!" ("自壊せよロンダニーニの黒犬!! 一読し・焼き払い・自ら喉を掻き切るがいい!") 21. Sekienton (赤煙遁, Red Smoke Escape) Creates a blast upon activation and is used like a ninja's smoke bomb. Incantation: unknown. 26. Kyokko (曲光, Curved Light) Hides the target from sight, by bending light. The spell has the ability to totally hide the presence and reiatsu of the user or specified object. Incantation: unknown. 30. Shitotsu Sansen (嘴突三閃, Beak-Piercing Triple Beam) Forming a golden triangle with one's finger, it shoots three beams of light that pin the target to one place on a surface, slamming into his or her body in three places in a shape of a perfect triangle. Incantation: unknown. 37. Tsuriboshi (吊星, Suspending Star) Creates a star-shaped cushion of Spiritual Energy, which anchors it to nearby objects with "ropes" of spirit particles. It can stop falling objects, acting like a safety net. Incantation: unknown. 39. Enkosen (円閘扇, Arc Shield) Summons a shield of condensed reiatsu to block opponents' attacks. Incantation: unknown. 46. Kyōmon (鏡門, Mirror Door) Tōshirō Hitsugaya used this to seal Momo Hinamori's hospital room. It creates a glass-like barrier which is difficult to break from the outside, but quite simple to break from the inside. Incantation: unknown. 56. Hachigyou Sougai (8 Joined Twin Cliffs) A barrier developed by the Vizard Hachigen Ushōda. The barrier is a double dislocation barrier, which has the ability of erasing whatever is within it from existence and removing the space it takes up from an outsider's inner consciousness, making it so that one is not even able to perceive it is there. The very thought of getting close to it doesn't even occur to those outside it. It is so powerful and unique in composition that it cannot be undone by Shinigami Kidō. Incantation: Unknown 58. Kakushitsuijaku (摑趾追雀, Summoning of the Tracking Sparrows) Tracks and locates any spiritual force the user focuses on. To activate it, the user must draw a circle on the ground, cut into four parts with a specific character in each. The incantation animates the circle, causing various numbers to appear within until the specific set is found. The number set seems to be a variation on longitude and latitude. Incantation: "Heart of the south, eye of the north, finger of the west, foot of the east, arrive with the wind and depart with the rain." ("南の心臓 北の瞳 西の指先 東の踵 風持ちて 集い雨払いて散れ") 60. Nankan Unnamed Barrier This technique was used by Sōsuke Aizen. Aizen summoned his barrier to block a sneak attack by Shunsui Kyōraku. Incantation: Unknown 61. Rikujōkōrō (六杖光牢, Six Rods Prison of Light) Summons six thin, wide beams of light that slam into a target's midsection, holding them in place. The target is then unable to move any part of their body including the parts that were not struck by the beams. Incantation: "Carriage of Thunder. Bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into six!" ("雷鳴の馬車 糸車の間隙 光もて此を六に別つ!") 62. Hyapporankan (百歩欄干, Hundred Steps Fence) A rod formed of energy is thrown towards the target before it disintegrates into numerous short rods which are used to pin the target to the surroundings and render them immobile. Incantation: unknown 63. Sajo Sabaku (鎖条鎖縛, Locking Bondage Stripes) Similar to Bakudō No. 4, but stronger, this spell binds the arms of a target. Incantation: unknown. 73. Tozanshō (倒山晶, Inverse Mountain Crystal) Creates an inverted pyramid-shaped barrier around the caster. Incantation: unknown. 75. Gochūtekkan (五柱鉄貫, Quintet of 1 kan Iron Pillars) Summons five incredibly tall and thick pillars which are connected to each other by chains to pin a target to the ground. Incantation: "Walls of ironsand, a priestly pagoda, glowing ironclad fireflies. Standing upright, silent to the end." ("鉄砂の壁、僧形の塔、灼鉄熒熒、湛然として終に音無し 77. Tenteikūra (天挺空羅, Heavenly Rickshaws in Silken Air) Transmits messages mentally to anyone within an area of the caster's choosing. In addition to reciting the spell, the user must draw specific markings on their arms, which are animated by the spell to convey the messages. The messages can be spoken either by the caster or by another within the vicinity of the caster. Incantation: "Black and white net. Twenty-two bridges, sixty-six crowns and belts. Footprints, distant thunder, sharp peak, engulfing land, hidden in the night, sea of clouds, blue line. Form a circle and fly though the heavens." ("黒白の羅!二十二の橋梁 六十六の冠帯 足跡・遠雷・尖峰・回地・夜伏・雲海・蒼い隊列 太円に満ちて天を挺れはし) 78. Hakufuku (白伏, White Crawl) This technique muddles the consciousness of its target. Momo Hinamori uses this spell while imprisoned to knock out a guard and destroy everything within a certain radius of herself. The Bleach Official Character Book Souls states that it is a Binding spell. Incantation: unknown. 79. Kuyō Shibari (九曜縛, Nine Sunlight Traps) Creates eight black holes that emit spiritual energy in the personal space surrounding the target with a ninth black hole manifesting in the center of the targets chest. Incantation: Unknown 81. Danku (斷空, Splitting Void) Creates an energy barrier in the form of a rectangular wall. According to Byakuya, it is capable of stopping destructive spells up to #89. This is seen also when Aizen uses it to block Tessai's Hadō #88. Incantation: unknown; although Tessai hinted that it has an incantation when he fights Aizen. 95. Rokkaku Nankan This technique was used by Sōsuke Aizen against Ichigo Kurosaki. It is a powerful barrier which can be placed upon a part of the body and it activates when an attack reaches the point where it is cast. When the attack hits the barrier, a hexagonal shape appears. Aizen cast it on the back of his neck to protect his blind spot from attacks and it is powerful enough to withstand a point-blank black Getsuga Tenshō. Incantation: Unknown Bakudo 96. Kūkanten'i (空間転位, Spatial Displacement) A forbidden spell used by Tessai with Temporal Stasis to teleport a specified portion of space from one point to another, transporting even other active Kidō spells. Incantation: Unknown Bakudo 97. Jikanteishi (時間停止, Temporal Stasis) A forbidden spell used by Tessai along with Spatial Displacement. It is a spell that halts time in a specific area. Incantation: Unknown 98. Shisō Kekkai (四葬結界, Quad Burial Barrier) This technique was used by Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto, and is the seal used to lock away Kōga Kuchiki. Four spears are used to trap the target by their hands and legs. The target rises up into sky and is then sealed in a black coffin-like box with chains wrapping around it. The four spears then pierce the box all at once. Incantation: Unknown 99, Part 1. Kin (禁, Seal) Binds the arms of a target to their back like Bakudō #1, but with spiritual fabric and iron shafts. Hachigen has displayed a far stronger version that ties the target's arms on the back in addition to wrapping the spiritual fabric around the entire body, and continues to pin the target with the spiritual fabric stacked to the ground around the target with several iron shafts in an "X" shape. Incantation: unknown; although (Shinji Hirako hinted that there is an incantation). 99, Part 2. Bankin (卍禁, Great seal) This spell covers the target from head to toe with spiritual fabric (First Song), stabs them with numerous metal bolts (Second Song), and then smashes them with an immense metal cube (Final Song). The full power of the seal is still unknown as Ichigo broke the first two seals before the metal cube landed on him during his Shattered Shaft training. Incantation: First Song: Halting Fabric (初曲・止繃, Shokyoku: Shiryū). Second Song: Hundred Linked Bolts (弐曲・百連閂, Nikyoku: Hyakurensan). Final Song: Great Seal of 10,000 Forbiddings (終曲・卍禁太封, Shūkyoku: Bankin Taihō). 100, Part 1. Ryubi no Jōmon (竜尾の城門, The Gate of Dragon Tail) Hachigen Ushōda used this barrier technique to block Barragan Luisenbarn's aging ability. The technique works by creating over a dozen pillars which are arranged by hand gestures, making them form a gigantic shield or door like barrier between the caster and the opponent.[57] Together with Koko no Jomon, Kigai no Jomon and Hoyoku no Jomon, it forms Shiji no Saimon. Incantation: Brethren-in-arms withdrawing for the distance of 8 sun and standing still; blue bolt, white bolt, black bolt, red bolt; sinking into the ocean together seeking redemption. 100, Part 2. Koko no Jomon (虎咬の城門, The Gate of Tiger Fang) This technique is another one of Hachigen Ushōda new Kidō barrier techniques developed after he became a Vizard. This barrier appears out of nowhere and takes the shape of a watermill. It's inner section can be opened up like a set of fangs allowing one to attack through the barrier. Together with Ryubi no Jomon, Kikai no Jomon and Hoyoku no Jomon, it forms Shiji no Saimon. Incantation: Unknown 100, Part 3. Kikai no Jomon (亀鎧の城門, The Gate of Turtle Shell) This technique is another one of Hachigen Ushōda new Kidō barrier techniques developed after he became a Vizard. This barrier is created by many small hexagons combining to form a honeycomb-like structure. Together with Ryubi no Jomon, Koko no Jomon and Hoyoku no Jomon, it forms Shiji no Saimon. Incantation: Unknown 100, Part 4. Hoyoku no Jomon (鳳翼の城門, The Gate of Phoenix Wings) This technique is another one of Hachigen Ushōda new Kidō barrier techniques developed after he became a Vizard. This barrier is created from an obelisk and many planks combining to form a sort of lampshade resembling enfolding wings and a crude bird's head/body. Together with Ryubi no Jomon, Koko no Jomon and Kikai no Jomon, it forms Shiji no Saimon. Incantation: Unknown 100, Part 5. Shiji no Saimon (四獣の塞門, The Gate of Four Beasts) This technique is another one of Hachigen Ushōda new Kidō barrier techniques developed after he became a Vizard. This barrier is formed by combining Ryubi no Jomon, Koko no Jomon, Kikai no Jomon and Hoyoku no Jomon. Tsuzuri Raiden (製本電, Bound Lightning) Electric current flows through any object the user touches and is able to lead electricity, damaging any target that is in contact with the object the current runs through. Incantation: unknown 31. Shakkahō (赤火砲, Shot of Red Fire) Fires a ball of red energy at a target. Incantation: "Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, the sea barrier surges, march on to the south!" Sōkatsui (蒼火墜, Blue Fire, Crash Down) Fires a burst of blue spiritual energy at a target in a similar manner to #31, but over a wider area and with more power. Incantation: "Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws." A blast of spherical, red energy similar in strength to a Sōkatsui blast. While both number and classification of this particular spell is not expressly stated, it is clearly a Destructive spell. Incantation: Unknown 54. Haien (廃炎, Abolishing Flames) Fires a blast of purple spiritual energy that will incinerate a target completely when it makes contact. Incantation: unknown. 58. Tenran (闐嵐, Orchid Sky) A widening tornado-like blast is fired towards the target. Incantation: unknown 63. Raikōhō (雷吼炮, Thunder Roar Cannon) Fires a massive wave of yellow energy at a target. Incantation: "Sprinkled on the bones of the beast! Sharp tower, red crystal, steel ring. Move and become the wind, stop and become the calm. The sound of warring spears fills the empty castle!" ("散在する獣の骨!尖塔・紅晶・鋼鉄の車輪 動けば風 止まれば空 槍打つ音色が虚城に満ちる! " ) 63. Sōren Sōkatsui (双蓮蒼火墜, Twin Lotus Blue Fire, Crash Down) Essentially a doubled version of #33 (labelled as #73 in anime), this spell fires two shots of blue fire with greater potency than the single-shot variety. Incantation: "Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! On the wall of blue flame, inscribe a twin lotus. In the abyss of conflagration, wait at the far heavens." ("君臨者よ!血肉の仮面・万象・羽ばたき・ヒトの名を冠す者よ!蒼火の壁に双蓮を刻む 大火の淵を遠天にて待つ") 70. Hyōga Seiran (氷河晴嵐, Glacier Vapor Storm) This technique was used by Kōga Kuchiki. A spell that fires a massive wave of ice capable of freezing its targets and surrounding area as well as destroying a group of Menos Grande through sheer power. While both number and classification of this particular spell is not expressly stated, it is clearly a Destructive spell. Incantation: unknown. 77. Gaki Rekkō (牙気裂光, Raging Light Fang) This technique was used by Kōga Kuchiki. A spell that makes a circle of energy, before firing blasts of green light from its center in a cage-like formation. While both number and classification of this particular spell is not expressly stated, it is clearly a Destructive spell. Incantation: Unknown 88. Hiryugekizokushintenraiho (飛竜撃賊震天雷砲, Flying Dragon-Striking Heaven-Shaking Thunder Cannon) Fires a gigantic electricity blast of spiritual energy resulting in an truly enormous explosion. Senjū Kōten Taihō (千手晃天大砲, Thousand Hand Bright Sky Cannon) Summons several spears of light that are all fired towards the same focal point where the intended target resides. Ittō Kasō (一刀火葬, Single Blade Cremation) A forbidden spell used by Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto. It is a spell that causes a huge pillar of fire to erupt from the ground in the shape of a katana's tip. Reiatsu is the only stat. You start at 15, with Shikai unlocked. Whatever your reiatsu is at is the level of bakudo/hado you can use (for example, you start at 15, so you can use any kidou that has a number of 15 or lower). The only way to increase your Reiatsu is to fight; to use your abilities. This can be using Kidou or using you shikai. For every post where you actively use kidou or your zan abilities (no, hoho and shunpo do not count) you gain 2 reiatsu levels. This implant grants the ability to see spiritual beings as clearly as one sees a normal human. After the assault on San Francisco, during which the vast majority of civilians could not see what was tearing into them, it was believed a necessary defense that everyone could be able to see their netherworldly attackers. These implants do not, however, counteract spiritual abilities meant to cloak a being from other spiritual beings. "Hercules" Leg and Spine Supports - thousands of Carbon nanotubes coiled through and around the leg and back muscles and bones to allow for mobility under the weight of the reiatsu of spiritual attackers. While it does not allow immunity from more gargantuan reiatsu pressures, it will allow some basic motion for humans who must flee or fight an attacking spirit. This technology is implanted a few days after birth, and requires special supplements and regular checkups. Note: All of these technologies no longer apply to the Awakened Shinigami, as your human bodies were destroyed, and you are now only spiritual forms. SOF Technology: Passive Technology: "Melange" Ocular Implants - A vastly upgraded version of the Oracle implants, this variant incorporates a Heads-Up-Display for greater combat effectiveness. It also allows measurement of the spiritual power of opponents. Also includes Nightvision, Thermal and Magnetic displays. This device is implanted into all SOF personnel."Atlas" Supports - A more thorough support system for the human body, this model includes organ support and regulation to aid normal body function when exposed to extreme pressures; spiritual or not. The number of nanotubes also increases the higher the rank, in accordance with the spiritual pressures a soldier may face. In essence: The higher the rank, the less effected by Spiritual pressure they are. "Sun Tzu" Spiritual sensor - This device is, to the humans, what reiatsu sensing is for Shinigami and Pesquisa is for the Arrancar; it senses the location and power of other beings. Every SOF base and outpost, no matter how small, has one of these. Most cities with a population over 5000 have at least one as well. All sensors, with the exception of the portable variant, have a range of 100 kilometers. However, because these sensors detect the reiatsu of every being, weaker spiritual creatures, or spiritual creatures who can suppress their reiatsu, are much more capable of blending in and evading detection. Reiatsu-based attacks are a dead giveaway however. Due to the high cost and maintenance requirements, these devices are not yet in wide use in smaller towns or the countryside. As a result, the SOF has resorted to storing smaller, less powerful versions in armoured vans which travel with rural detachments. The portable sensors have a range of only 25 kilometers. Without these sensors, soldiers must rely only on what is within visual range - making it much harder to defend against an ambush. Like the Melange and Oracle implants, this sensor system can also be fooled by techniques/abilities designed to hide one spiritual being from another. "Osiris" Nano-Regeneration - As the name implies, this is an implant, which produced nanites (nano robots basically) which aid in the body's natural regenerative ability. The cost of these units is prohibitive however, so only officers are equipped with the permanent variety, while standard soldiers require a medic or infirmary to receive a temporary dose of the nanites. The higher the rank, the more nanites you have. These nanites also help to reduce the aging process, allowing much older officers to be as fit and capable as their younger subordinates. Finally, these nanites also increase the density of epidermal tissue, allowing bare skin to endure a bit more punishment. However, no amount of nanites offer immortality... yet. Defensive Technology: Some of these technologies can be purchased on the Black Market (Once a contact has been made within the Black Market during the RP). The higher the cost, the higher the level of technology you get. (for example, the more you pay, the more powerful your armour will be). "Achilles" Combat Armour - unlike the armour of older militaries, designed to absorb/redirect the kinetic energy of a projectile, this armour takes a more ancient stance of rigidity. This energy-infused armour does not bend to absorb energy, but stands firm to repel it outright. While the material of the armour is used to repel shrapnel, the energy is used to vaporize penetrating materials as well as preventing kinetic energy from passing through the physical material and doubles as a barrier against energy attacks. As a result, this body armour doubles as an effective vehicle armour Due to the immense power requirements however, the generators required to power this armour are, also, distributed based on rank; with the less powerful generators powering common soldier armour, while officers enjoy much stronger power sources. If the generator cannot produce enough energy to stop an attack outright, then this armour is rendered useless. Low-level generators are also vulnerable to an electrical overload via electromagnetic attack. Higher level generators are EMP-hardened, however. Appearance: The appearance can vary from person to person in colouring and what they wear, but the generic armour looks like this Spoiler "Spartan" Personal Shield Type 1 - This device takes the shape of a glove worn on one or both arms. When activated, it produces a large, circular energy shield - similar in size to an ancient Spartan shield. Once again, power requirements are the limiting factor here; those with more powerful generators can withstand more punishment, last longer and can be used in succession more rapidly. "Spartan" Personal Shield Type 2 - This device is a belt worn at the waist. When activated it produces an oval shield around the user. As with the Type 1, power requirements are the limiting factor. In addition, this variant is only available to officers - and is generally a favourite of officers. However, neither this variant nor the Type 1 have the processor power to register friendly attacks, and so while this shield is active, the user cannot attack (with the Type 1, the shield simply cannot be fired through). Nano-Inhibitor - This device blocks the "Zerg Rush" Nanite effect, allowing a combatant to remain alert and ready for an engagement. This is a permanent enhancement, but has a high price, prohibiting most soldiers from attaining them. Offensive Technology: Some of these technologies can purchased from the Black Market. The more you pay, the better class of tech you get. "Hephaestus" Ammunitions: All human weapons rely on this brand of ammunition. Manufactured by a privately owned corporation, the ammunition is also tiered; the higher class of ammunition you can afford, the more powerful the rounds are. These rounds are equally capable of devastating the human and spiritual bodies. Given that spirit-killer magazines don't actually use bullets (they actually use compressed energy rounds), the magazines are actually more along the lines of battery-packs. There is no "caliber" restrictions on any gun (for instance, you could fire a round equivalent in force to a 50 caliber rifle round from a small pistol by appropriately adjusting the discharge), however the more powerful the round the more energy it uses and the less rounds you'll have in each magazine. However, for an extremely steep price, so far only afforded by SOF Generals, they can make unlimited-charge magazines capable of unleashing any desired level of energy discharge. "Hephaestus" Firearms: All human weapons are produced by the corporation. Weapons can be cookie-cutter (mass produced) or custom made for an equal fee. They can even make melee weapons, though these are much less common. As with the ammunition, the higher you pay, the better class of weapon you get. These firearms can fire conventional or special Hephaestus ammunition. "Zerg Rush" Offensive Nanites - Named for a common tactic in a popular video game, this device, usually held on a belt but can be tailored to be held anywhere, unleashes a minuscule horde of airborne nanites. SOF soldiers don't use these nanites to inflict actual harm, instead using these to infiltrate the inner ear of an opponent to deafen and disorient him/her. Vehicles: These aren't purchasable, but they can be stolen if necessary. Kagutsuchi Main Battle Tank - The Kagutsuchi Main Battle Tank is the intellectual offspring of an SOF competition to design a tank capable of engaging the colossal threat posed by the Spirit Realm. Out of 46 different entries, the Kagutuschi concept was selected for its compact, very maneuverable design (excellent for urban assault/defense), reasonable cost, exceptional versatility and considerable firepower. Despite extensive automation, the tank still requires at least a two man crew, with enough room to hold up to four people. Outside of Japan, the tank's unofficial name was the "Shinto Tank". Default Armour rating: Class 3 (Same concept as combat armour) Standard Weapons: 1 Main Energy Cannon, fires 1 shot every 10 seconds, each shot equivalent to a Gran Rei Cero, 360 degree turning radius 4 Double barrel machine Cannons, each firing 30 rounds per second with a maximum burst length of 10 seconds, each round with the power of an Espada's Bala, Omni directional 1 Turret-mounted Quad-barrel machine gun, fires 60 rounds per second, omni-directional, each shot has the power of a Lieutenant's Hadou 31. 2 Forward firing light machine guns, one mounted on either side of the main cannon, each firing 120 rounds per minute, each round having the power of a low-ranking Shinigami's Byakurai. All weapons except the main canon are fully automated. Top speed: 65 mph when not in combat. 12 mph when engaged in combat. Notes: With the exception of the upgraded Kagutsuchi-B, which are so expensive to make that only SOF Generals are authorized to use them, all of these tanks must divert power from their engines to their weapons and armour in order to fight. This means that, when not in combat mode, the armour of this tank is essentially useless and only the two forward firing light machine guns are operational (operating at 50% of their full power and rate of fire). Kagutsuchi-B differences: Black Armour Plating Enhanced generators, allowing them to move at top speed and remain in combat mode 2X the rate of fire of the original model. Armour rating: Class 4 Appearance: Spoiler "Eyes of Ra" Light Combat and Reconnaissance Aircraft - More commonly referred to as "Eyes in the Sky" or by an informal abbreviation, the "Eyes of Ra" LCRA represents the backbone in SOF First-Response Operations. These semi or fully automated Aircraft serve to acquire a visual lock on potential spiritual and physical targets. They sweep the skies of every major city, and are becoming increasingly widespread in the countryside as well (in the absence of permanent sensor installations). These craft possess omni-directional sensors that scan in Thermal, Magnetic and Spiritual views simultaneously, feeding all that information to their pilots, who are either flying these craft by remote from a nearby base (as is the case in most cities) or inside the craft itself (as is the case when over rural areas). Light armour and powerful engines offer this LCRA unparalleled speed and maneuverability giving them an edge in both reconnaissance and as a first strike weapon. However, because their primary duty is to patrol urban airspace, these Aircraft are rarely given the order to engage, used primarily to maintain a visual lock on a target while ground forces move into position. Only in extreme conditions does LCRA engage in close air support with its diverse, yet lightweight, weapons system. Armour Rating: Class 1 Achilles Armour. Does not have EMP hardening. As was explained in the Technology section, most technologies are tiered, meaning that higher-level SOF/Arrancar units will have better, more reliable, more powerful versions of the technology. There are 4 classes of technology, the price of each is dependent upon the type of technology, and will be listed in the Black Market section, once the characters have established a black market connection. You do need to buy the lower class of technology in order to buy the next class up on a particular piece of tech. Class 1 - This is the most basic level, used by the common footsoldiers and hollows Class 2 - This is the level given to lower level officers/hollows(SOF Captains or lower and Vasto Lordes or lower) Class 3 - This is the level given to most High level officers/hollow (SOF Colonels and Arrancar) Class 4 - This is the level given to the highest echelon of both the Arrancar and the SOF (SOF Generals and Vacio Dios). Throughout the RP, it will be important to remain undetected by the SOF and the Arrancar for long periods of time. Their main method of detection is to sense your reiatsu (Arrancar/hollow can directly sense your reiatsu output, the SOF Sun Tzu Sensor system will detect any kidou you use and any increase in your reiatsu output). Both of these detection methods can be fooled by spells specifically designed to conceal you. If you are unable to use such a spell (if, for example, you haven't unlocked it or you've used too much energy already), here is what you have to know: Both enemy groups can and will detect it immediately, and will immediately dispatch reinforcements. The moment you stop using kidou/your powers, they will still be able to detect you for at least 2 posts. If they haven't been able to establish a visual lock on you at that point, you will have escaped. If they have directly spotted you, they will engage. Hollows and Arrancar will engage indiscriminately, unafraid of killing civilians. In crowded areas (city centers mostly), the SOF will attempt to attain visual lock from the air, and then dispatch infantry to engage you. If, however, you cause too much devastation, the SOF will engage with vehicles, heavy artillery and close and ranged air support. Once visual lock has been established, you have a few options: 1)Destroy all the local forces (a challenge at any level): This will instantly result loss of target acquisition - meaning, they will no longer know where you are, because everyone will be dead. Note: Against the Arrancar/Hollow, this just means killing all the hollow/arrancar, preventing them from calling for reinforcements. Against the SOF, this means killing all their personnel and destroying any Sun Tzu Sensor towers that can detect you. 2)Destroy the units with visual lock on you: After doing this, if you stop using kidou or your zan powers, they will lose their lock on you after two posts, provided you can avoid any other forces from locking on to your position. 3)Run/Distract: If you can move quickly enough, or do anything that draws their attention away from you and disrupts their visual lock, you can escape them and they will lose track of you after two posts, provided that you don't use any other kidou/zan powers and they aren't able to establish visual lock. Note: It is much easier to escape once being detected in crowded areas such as cities. The more people around, the easier it is to lose. If you're alone in the woods somewhere, they will never lose track of you. Limiters: After a certain point (it will be announced in the RP) everyone with a reiatsu over a certain level (to be announced) will be required to wear a limiter in the human world. Failure to do so, or removal of your limiter, will result in immediate detection, and they will not lose track of you unless you use a kidou designed to hide yourself, or you restore your limiter (at which point, they will still be able to track you for two posts). While all officers carry a firearm and are equipped with armour (their uniforms double as effective armour), this variety of officers aren't particularly skilled in combat, and they also don't have particularly powerful equipment. Though their implants will be of a higher quality than the common soldier's, their armour and arms will probably be a little worse than a common soldier's. David harbours a strong dislike for his father, Paul Allen, made worse by being placed under his father's command. This distaste does not hinder his loyalty or obedience to the SOF, the attachment to which he developed on his own terms, having completely resisted his father's attempt to drill the SOF mentality into him. David has bonded closely with his subordinates, viewing them more as comrades rather than military pawns - a view completely opposite to his father's view of soldiers. History: Spoiler
David was born in a hospital in Madrid, approximately 20 years after the disaster at San Francisco. His mother, Arcelia Rayez, had temporarily involved herself with Paul Allen, an SOF Lieutenant at the time, during a pilgrimage to San Francisco nine months earlier. When the pilgrimage was over she returned home alone, and Lt. Allen remained at his post in New San Francisco - the unofficial title bestowed upon the regenerated sections of the city - unaware that his brief romance with the young spanish girl had left her with child. Shortly after the birth, Arcelia took ill and died - it was later determined that a parasite had occupied her body during the actual birth, when her entire system was ravaged by the experience. After being checked to ensure he did not also have the parasite, the newborn David was transported to the San Francisco SOF base and delivered to Lt. Allen's doorstep. Having been in San Francisco during the Arrancar onslaught - as a mere foot soldier in the infant Seer program - Lt. Allen harboured a deep and lasting hatred for all things spiritual - much deeper than the average citizen or soldier who had not experienced the slaughter first-hand. As such, he was determined to drill the same mentality into his new son. However, when, at the age of 8, David learned of the true nature of his father's relationship with his mother - essentially an extended one night stand - David developed a hidden resentment for his capricious father, who had so quickly forgotten his mother. This resentment was further nurtured by Paul's tyrannical attitude and approach to discipline and teaching. Over time, David had even begun to question whether or not the spirits that his father so preached against, were really all that bad. By his early teens, David's hatred for his father reached its zenith. He marked this loathing by adopting his mother's last name of 'Rayez'; one more act of defiance among legions. Over the next few years, David divided his time between forced training and running away. Typically, during his brief escapes from home, David spent his time in the unrestored ruins of San Francisco. It was on one such escapade that David stumbled into the security office of a collapsed sky scraper. To his surprise, after more than 35 years of exposure, the security video logs were still intact. After tinkering with the electronics, and "confiscating" a power source, David skimmed through the security footage from so many decades before. The final tapes, unsurprisingly, contained footage of the attack. It so happened, that the footage also captured the young Paul Allen being swatted aside by a humanoid monster - visible to David courtesy of the mandatory ocular implants given to every newborn since the attack - which then tore into the rest of Paul's squad. Watching blood splatter across the camera, wall and street, David began to understand his father's attitude. While he could not rationalize his father's actions, David took a much kinder look at the SOF, and after many months of sullen considerations, David signed on. What he hadn't expected, was to be placed under his father's command. Presently, David Rayez commands his own platoon of 40 soldiers, accompanied by a total of 6 tanks and 4 armoured vehicles. Placed under the direct command of Captain Paul Allen, the Commanding Officer of the San Francisco SOF detachment, David's platoon has been named as one of the few elite squads in all of the SOF. However, this honour truly amounted to very little, as there had not been another true spiritual incursion into the human realm since San Francisco. The only threats that were dealt with by the majority of SOF platoons, were singular hellions that slipped into the human realm for a snack, but are easily destroyed or driven back. The only reason David's platoon earned its honours, is because they are the only ones sent out to destroy the monsters; the other platoons typically dealing with more human issues. A vast rift still exists between David and his father, despite being forced to work so closely together. A romantically fickle man, Captain Allen was notorious for pursuing many, much younger, women over his esteemed career as San Francisco's greatest defender. As far the SOF is concerned, Allen is supremely loyal. However, his hatred for spiritual beings supersedes his loyalty, and has often been chewed out for engaging spiritual beings against orders - which is why, at nearly 70 years old, he has been passed over for promotion to the rank of major for nearly 20 years. Only his skill as a commander and unhinderable pursuit of spiritual beings has pushed him to the rank of Captain. There is a notable divide between Paul and his only child - that he'll admit to - David. As a parent, Paul was a dictator - a fact he feels no remorse for. Despite his callous parenting, Paul does regret that the rift still exists now that his son is in his thirties and has, on many occasions, tried vainly to reconcile. Paul is a lover of poetry, yet possesses no poetic talents. In his youth, and even in his forties, his passion for which he had no talent earned him some womanly sympathy; they saw it as youthful exuberance, even in an older man, and were charmed by it. When his last year of high school approached its end, Paul realized he had no clue what he wanted to do next. Rather than really think about his future, he had spent his high school years relentlessly chasing the opposite sex to fulfill his fickle nature. When his schooling did end, Paul moved out of his parents' house and found his own apartment in San Francisco, on the opposite side of the country from where he'd grown up. For few weeks, Paul held a promising career as a secretary for a notable legal firm. However, after losing several vital files that led to the murder conviction of an innocent man, Paul was fired from this position. Desperate for money, Paul signed on with the army. After completing his training, Paul was assigned to the newly-formed Seer detachment. Like many of the Seer-assigned soldiers, Paul wrote off the spiritual aspect of his new job. He firmly believed at the time that the Seer project was really just a domestic surveillance assignment, and was content with this as it spared him enough time to continue his philanderous pursuits. It was found that Paul had a particular affinity for army life - even the administrative duties which he'd failed at during his tenure in the legal firm - and within a few months he had been promoted twice, to the rank of Sergeant. Now in command of his own squad of about 12 soldiers, Paul routinely led them out on "patrol missions" into the heart of San Francisco. These patrol missions usually ended at a local bar or gentleman's club. It was on one such mission that Paul's beliefs regarding the Seer Project were shattered; a full-blown demon invasion into the human world was underway. Paul shook his squad from their drunken stupor and dragged them out into the streets, double-timing it to the nearest checkpoint. His squad had traveled no more than 3 blocks before they first engaged an enemy. Their assigned Seers, using the helmet-mounted cameras that Paul had luckily remembered to reactivate after leaving the strip club, outlined on his squads' HUD a humanoid figure. Paul never even got to raise his rifle before the phantom brushed him aside, breaking every rib in Paul's body and shattering his right leg in eight different places. Crippled and bloodied, Paul was forced only to witness his squadmates, whom he'd bonded with quite closely over his military career, torn asunder. He was even so lucky as to be drenched in the blood of a good friend, at which point Paul slipped out of consciousness. Apparently ignored by the hulking legions that swarmed the city, Paul awoke several hours later and dragged his bruised carcass out of the city. It was miracle that he was able to keep his leg, which had suffered additional damage since Paul had to pull himself from the wreckage of the city he'd made his home in. The trauma of the San Francisco assault forged an impenetrable resolve within him, and no sooner had he recovered, did Paul sign on with the newly formed SOF. Over the next 20 years, Paul would personally lead every attack on any spiritual creature the new SOF technologies could detect, making it his personal mission to massacre every last demon he could. His intense loathing for the creatures was such that, even when ordered not to engage, Paul would handpick a small squad to lead against any spiritual threat, even if it vastly outmatched. Despite many decades of subsequent injuries, this resolve still burns brightly within Paul. Approximately 20 years after the attack, Paul had a 7 day romantic trist with a young Spanish girl, only about 23 years old - a little more than half of Paul's age - which he promptly forgot about until 9 months later a small child was placed in his hands in San Francisco. Now in his early forties, Paul had actually been thinking alot about the future, and how few truly zealous loathers of the spirit realm existed within the SOF. Certainly, there was the odd demon who entered the human world and killed a few civilians before being killed or driven back, but nothing so unfathomable as the San Francisco invasion had happened in 20 years, and the fickle minds of the mob had turned from fearing demons to fearing the SOF's growing power. Unwilling to leave the SOF in the hands of those not vigilant against another spiritual assault like the one that had so ravaged him and his home, Paul decided that he would turn his own son into a disciple of spiritual hatred. However, as the years rolled on, it became more and more evident that Paul's previous contentment with romantic frivolity was working against him. Having discovered that his father had never really loved his mother, David - Paul's son - rebelled furiously against his father, even taking his mother's last name out of spite. However, in his late teens, David's attitude inexplicably changed, and without consulting Paul, David signed on with the SOF. Proud of his boy's new attitude, Paul pulled what strings he could to have his son placed under his command. However, despite their geographic closeness, Paul was unable to reconcile the chasm that had grown between them in his teenage years. However, as persistent in life as he was in love, Paul never allowed David to transfer away, and has kept his son under his personal command; desperately trying to turn his boy into the champion of the SOF. In the interceding years between his son joining the SOF and the Shinigami Awakening, thanks to certain events in Italy and elsewhere, the mob's mind had, once again, turned to fear of the spirit realm, allowing Paul to focus once more on hunting his white spiritual whale and less on dispersing protests. Despite his advanced age, Captain Allen maintains an impressive physique and oppressive combat prowess and tactical ability. A soldier and an officer by nature, no interaction with Christiano can escape that strict military demeanor that weaves itself into every thought he expresses; be it through action or voice. While he labours to keep his interaction with strangers, officers and soldiers professional, he is prone to surges of sentimentality, kindness, emotion and camaraderie that might seem inappropriate to some for a man of his status. On one particular occasion, however, these swells of emotion unleashed savagery on an unimaginable scale; a vicious temper he shares with Ciro, capable of brushing aside all moral and military barriers in its path. While he has done his best to instill a military discipline in his only son, he respects his son's need to forge his own path, and frequently breaks military protocol to lend any assistance to his son. He is secretly extremely proud of the man Ciro is becoming. Many men have mistaken the aforementioned bouts of unprofessional behavior for weakness. All of those men have tasted either the back of his hand, or his boot heels for thinking so. His facility with weapons and combat tactics, combined with the brazen of youth and a cyclonic temper, made Christiano Soffiare a perfect candidate for officer training. Inducted into the newly forged SOF straight out of the unified Italian Officer Academy in Rome, Christiano's superiors always envisioned him commanding their legions in a counter-offensive in what was surely to be a monumental spiritual holocaust. Christiano, on the other hand, couldn't stomach the thought of leading from behind. Everytime the call went out, he charged ahead of his squad to meet the threat head on. His tactical wisdom and unconquerable courage earned him the moniker "Caesar's Dice". However, the great spiritual onslaught never really happened. Instead, except for the odd incursion into the human realm, the demons of San Francisco all but vanished, abandoning the rotting flesh of their victims and their dying brethren. As a result, the threat Christiano charged against was mainly his own species; human revolts and protests against the conquering SOF. Oddly, Christiano never felt any kind of racial guilt for turning the weapons meant for the unholy against his own kind. Initially, he rationalized the eradication of rebel elements as a means of cementing security and peace for all humans; ensuring human freedom and dominance. As time rolled on, and the demonized apparitions failed to appear en masse, that naive view slowly soured. Not having witnessed the massacre at San Francisco, Christiano felt no real connection with it; nor did he share the mass terror at every appearance of a demon. To him, they were just monsters; beasts to be conquered by man. As time progressed, and the demon incursions became fewer and fewer, and the human resistance increased, Christiano began to view these rebellious humans as a greater impediment to global strength and security than the demons they were securing against. While, for most of his life, he didn't view the dissidents with any unnatural loathing, he had begun to view them as less than human; as hopeless, inept scraps to be discarded and destroyed as necessary. As a result of this dehumanizing, while his subordinates and superiors referred to him as "Caesar's Dice", the refugees in society's underbelly bestowed the title of "Hope of all Tyrants". That spiteful title became a rallying cry for what would be the defining moment in Christiano's life. During a period of particular unrest in Rome, Christiano's command center, the newly-appointed Hunter General decided - rightly so - that his family was to be evacuated. At the head of every protesting column was someone he had personally wronged during his career-long campaign for unity, and Christiano knew it was only a matter of time before they destroyed what was most dear to him, as he had to them. His defensive actions were far too late however, and his wife was torn apart by the mob, he shredded flesh and clothing scraps strewn across the road. His newborn son was the only survivor of the ambushed convoy; Ciro's survival was perhaps the only reason Christiano didn't take his own life, instead subjecting the protesting public to his inconsolable agony. With his son secured in the countryside, Christiano called a public meeting to address the demands of the murderous crowds. Not one single protester questioned why, when the meeting hall was filled to capacity, no one from the SOF or the defunct Italian government was present. Using a device only just cooked up by the SOF's Research and Development Department, known only as the "Ambush Flare", Christiano exacted his gruesome revenge. Acting as a spiritual beacon, the Ambush Flare let off massive signal, to be mistaken for juicy spiritual prey for the demons to feast upon. The original intent of the flare was to attract hordes of demons to a site, surround them with SOF personnel and vehicles, and destroy them - a means of thinning out the demon numbers, testing out weapons and, perhaps, drawing out the more powerful and elusive demons, to see how modern technology stacked up against them. Christiano wasn't exactly misusing the new technology, but that rationalization made it no less horrific for the Captain who'd had to deliver the weapon - now sworn to secrecy as an accomplice to the massacre that followed. Only when the last protester sucked his last breath through a shredded lung, did Christiano summon soldiers to decimated meeting hall to exterminate the demons who'd shown up. Using that attack as justification, Christiano usurped the Italian government's final powers, and outlawed all public protests as a matter of public safety. With posters of the slaughter pinned up all over town, and images plastered all over the virtual world, nobody condemned the new law. Since then, Christiano's command has been fairly uneventful. Though the opportunity has presented itself occasionally, he has not personally led his soldiers into battle since the day of the massacre; preferring instead to spend as much time with his son as possible, though many believe that the slaughter broke his iron will. Truthfully, neither is entirely correct. While he certainly wanted to spend more time with his son, his job made that nearly impossible - desk work, which he'd always dismissed as trivial, seemed to keep him away from his boy longer than leading troops had. His iron will is as intact as ever. Indeed, the only thing that keeps him in the office, and away from the front lines of the scarce combat, is a private fear that, having crossed the line from political tyrant to the arbiter of mass murder, if he were to begin destroying an enemy; he might never stop. The rage, grief and malice he'd felt while overseeing that butchery had never really subsided, only withdrawn to the deepest reaches of his mind. If it were ever released, the resulting tragedy could be incalculable. As a result, he stays at his desk, letting his own demon fester within him, suppressing it with drink and what friendships he's maintained over the years. To Be Continued. Unlike her Prophet, Severin has no pride in violence. Instead, Severin sees violence as a sadistic, sexual experience, and seizes every opportunity to engage in it. Without pride in her work, she prefers not to take on real challenges. Instead, her affinity is with toying with opponents she knows to be weaker; that way there's no rush to kill them before they kill her, as there is no chance of that. As a result of that, she has been known to abandon combat if she cannot win, usually when enemy numbers become overwhelming, and return later to play with anyone who has strayed from the safety of the group. When against one of those rare opponents that is stronger than she is, she will also retreat and await a time where that opponent might be weakened so she can strike again.

Severin's personal history is grotesque even by Hueco Mundo's standards. Born into a French family, from the age of 6 onwards she was routinely abused by her father, uncle and brother, who saw her as little more than an object to be subjected to the cruelest torture and sexual expectations. They'd treated her mother and sister the same way, however her mother had perished in child birth and her sister leapt into the path of an oncoming train on Severin's third birthday. As anyone would in her situation, Severin hardened to her surroundings, growing colder and morally backwards as years rolled on. Three months after her 19th birthday, long after her daily 'services' had been performed and the males of her house had fallen asleep, Severin's natural moral barriers finally dissolved at about the same time as the rusty cuffs that shackled her in the basement. She beat her father to death with the same wrench he'd used on her just hours before. During the onslaught, she tasted her first real excitement. However, this first taste was much too brief, and so she decided to prolong it with the other two men. Her initial efforts failed; her uncle's heart gave out before she could really draw any enjoyment from her ensanguined retribution. Her brother's last hours, however, rekindled a fire in her that she'd thought lost forever. From that night forward, violence was neither a choice, nor something to be bragged about. Violence was something just for her. It was the only thing that got her blood pumping; the only life she had left to live. One might summarize her lifetime achievements simply by saying that she became a prolific serial killer. In order to escape imprisonment for the murders of her monstrous family, Severin took refuge in the French countryside, staying for several years with a small farming family who took pity on what they believed to be an innocent young girl, cast out by her family. There, she assuaged her bloodlust through frequent trips to Paris. While her new patrons believed she was desperately trying to reconnect with her estranged family, she would trap new victims in the vast sewers beneath the city, and make a game of hunting them. On the particularly stifling evening of August 16th, 2171, Severin was enjoying her last "suitor" - the title she bestowed upon her victims - when he pulled a knife he'd hidden in his pant leg and drove it with his final strength into her chest, just to the right of her heart. Even as hot blood cascaded down her shirt and onto her suitor, she cried out in pleasure as he choked on his last breath. It was six weeks before the police tracked down the source of the stench. Naturally, she existed as a plus soul for only a few seconds, before the stark white flesh and mask clawed out from her chest and embraced her body. By the time of the final assault on Seireitei, she was a lowly Arrancar warrior, but proved herself valuable to the newly appointed prophet of violence when she discovered an internal conspiracy to oust him, and spent more than two years playing with the conspirators. Upon discovering her torture and eventual execution of the conspirators, the new Prophet of Violence brought her under his personal supervision and command. While their philosophies on violence frequently clash, he has grown rather fond of her. His nickname for her, a nickname that quickly spread throughout his camp, was 'Mon Cheri', in reference to her life as a French girl, and to the sexual pleasure she derives from violence. The force the whip it self can exert is easily enough to crush that of most materials, bone is an easy task. Sticking with the snake like theme the speed the whip is capable of moving from a motion of rest to striking is .08 of a second(slightly faster than deathadder's strike of 0.13), the crack that comes from the whip is capable of creating cutting 'forces' that extend a maximum of 2ft from the tip. Unlike the venom of actual snakes the venom of Hebinoo is highly corrosive or rather 'venomous' to that of non-living beings, the more dense in reiatsu/reishi that an object is determines how fast the acid like venom works, the venom itself can be injected through the actual snake hidden in the end of the whip or can be shot from the snakes fangs while it is still hidden. the venom may not effect a living being directly but it does have the effect of stopping blood from coagulating. A secondary mainly passive ability of the zan is that the user receives that of thermal like 'vision'. Ciro, by nature, is very impetuous and bold. Many of his decisions are based on immediate reaction, rather than rational thought. However, in calm, peaceful times, he is, or at least tries to be, very thoughtful. His mindful efforts towards inner serenity have, so far in his life, led to his rash actions to success, as his decision to act usually turns out to be the correct decision. All the same, his father worries deeply for his son's well-being, fearing that Ciro's bold nature will one day bring him great suffering. Romantically, he is a very determined person, to the point of foolish stubbornness. A fact which made his initial introduction to Adrianna Thorne, nicknamed "The Ice Princess" quite eventful. Ciro took to the Piano at an early age, finding that it's soothing, occasionally meloncholy, melodies pacified his inner audacity for a time. At the age of 12, his father recognized Ciro as a prodigy, and encouraged him to seek fame and fortune on the public stage. Ciro, however, in an act of defiance toward his father - neither first, nor the last - outright rejected such suggestions, though never explaining that his only reason for playing the piano was to bring peace to himself; that he had no interest in extending that peace to strangers. Since then, Ciro publicly denies that he has any facility with the instrument, only ever playing privately, when and where he is certain that he has no audience. History: Spoiler
Cirocco Soffiare was born to Christiano and Sofia Soffiare. The Soffiares lived a lavish life, supported solely by Christiano's paycheck, which always came specially marked as the paycheck of an SOF General. Naturally, General Soffiare was charged with presiding over all of Italy, with his headquarters in Rome, which is where he and Sofia resided before Ciro was born. At the time of Ciro's birth, Rome was crippled by cancerous protests against the ever-constricting regulations imposed by the SOF worldwide, one of the few times in the SOF's history such protests ever occurred. Fearing for his family, Christiano secured an extravagant mansion overlooking Lake Garda for his wife and child, and dispatched them via heavily armed and armoured convoy to the pristine hills overlooking the glistening lake. Sadly, his efforts were too late; the protesters had already decided that Christiano was a tyrant to be destroyed. Unable to hit General Soffiare directly, as his headquarters were surrounded by soldiers and tanks, the protesters ambushed his family's convoy, ramming the middle transport, containing Sofia and the newborn Ciro, with an old garbage truck they'd found sleeping in an abandoned junkyard. Ciro was lucky enough to be encased by the transport's wreckage, obscured from the hateful gaze of the ravenous protesters, who pulled Sofia from the wreckage, humiliating and torturing the terrified woman before tearing her apart in their furious fit. The convoy escorts finally managed to drive the protesters off, but not before Sofia had gurgled her last, blood-soaked breath. In the chilling silence that followed, they heard the infant's cries within the wreck, and evacuated him back to Headquarters. Seized by inconsolable savagry and loathing, Christiano made a public announcement that he would finally answer the protester's calls for debate on the tightening laws. When he was certain that the halls of parliament were filled to capacity with the angry protesters, he flipped the switch on a brand, spanking new device: The Ambush Flare. Cooked up in the SOF research labs in Germany, the Ambush Flare was a device similar to a certain Quincy device - not that the SOF knew that - in that it drew hundreds of spiritual beings to a particular location. Within five minutes, the hall was swarmed by a legion of lesser hollows. Thirty seconds after that, the final blood-choked squeal died out. Thirty seconds after that, General Soffiare ordered his troops in, who slaughtered every last hollow, and made sure to execute any human survivors. "An act of mercy", was how Christiano would later describe that execution order. Christiano Soffiare, and the SOF Captain who delivered the Ambush Flare, were the only witnesses to that gruesome scene, and are the only ones who know why the Hollows appeared in such numbers. Out of "fear" of future hollow incursions, similar to the one in Rome, the SOF outlawed all public protest gatherings "for public safety reasons". Far too young to remember the death of his mother, or even his mother generally, Ciro has grown up knowing only two things: The discipline of a loving father, whose conscience always seemed plagued by something unspeakable - Ciro simply assumed it was survivor's guilt over his mother's death - and the peaceful, serene, vista that surrounded his mansion home. Ciro was never told why his father continued with the move to Lake Garda, when he would have to fly back to Rome every single week to work. For as long as he could remember, however, his father had always been a secretive man; unwilling to divulge anything when asked, only revealing what he wanted to reveal, when he wanted to reveal it. As such, Ciro never asked about the move. While he was young, Ciro was prone to explosive temper-tantrums. He would scream and destroy objects, even those very dear to him, without thinking. His Christiano tried his hardest to instill a military discipline in his son, to counter-act this emotional side of his offspring; even going so far as to bring in martial arts instructors to train his body and mind. Nothing was particularly successful. If anything, Ciro's emotions were amplified, instead of suppressed. As he grew, Ciro came to understand his father's concerns; being of such high military office, Christiano was primarily a tactician, and regarded emotions as weakness. Indeed, Ciro too began to see how emotions could be exploited, and so he devoted himself to establishing an inner peace within himself. Despite thousands of dollars and many, long stays with Zen masters, Ciro was unable to find any kind of emotional suppression. However, it was one particular master who inspired Ciro, and thus led him to a method of emotional control. A Taoist master, secluded in northern China, spent only 1 hour with Ciro, silently observing the boy and listening to the young man speak. As the hour mark approached, the Taoist master simply pointed to an old scroll, upon which was written a very simple phrase: "Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like". The Taoist master then wordlessly dismissed Ciro, who left having never heard a single squeak escape the old man's lips. Ciro spent the entire trip home, and the next several weeks, reflecting upon what the old master had show him. He was completely lost as to what it could mean. It wasn't until he first touched a piano, more than two years later, before the wisdom of the old man became clear: What Ciro had needed was not to suppress his emotions, but rather an outlet for them. He needed to let the emotions flow through him, from his heart to his fingertips, and then out into the world. And so Ciro devoted himself to the Piano whole-heartedly, but in secret. It was not until his father returned home early one weekend, more than one year after Ciro had begun playing, that he witnessed the majesty of his son's musical talent. Ciro, however, refused to share that gift with the world, because he did not see it as a talent to be sold. Ciro didn't even understand the beauty of his music, he simply played to clear his mind. For him, it was a form of meditation. Presently, about 7 years after Christiano discovered his son's musical prowess, he dispatched Ciro to San Francisco, to mark the 50th anniversary of the Great Spiritual War. Ciro was not thrilled to make the pilgrimage. He understood, of course, the importance of it all. But he just couldn't connect with the disaster that meant so much to the previous generations. Ciro pilgrimage, however, went well before most schools had their pilgrimages, several months in fact. With the public ceremony and tours so far away, Ciro was given free reign to wander the city. It was during this brief period of wandering that he happened upon a girl about his age. He had spotted her from the street, a charming melody guiding his ears and his eyes, until he found its source, high on a rooftop. From the street, he beheld her undeniable beauty and innocence. He was entranced by her, to his very core. When not playing the piano, Ciro usually felt chaotic but this girl brought an elegant order to that chaos. He had to meet her. He scrambled up the building's steps, praying she had not disappeared, before bursting through the heavy metal door that opened out onto the flat plains of the roof. It would be several minutes before he realized he'd just stormed through a bustling school, drawing the attention of nearly every student and faculty member. Not that his impetuous nature was ever concerned with such things. He couldn't be certain why, at the moment he locked eyes with her very startled gaze, the only vision in his mind was an undulating ocean, rolling on into forever. It was at least 30 seconds before he'd been able to speak, and even then all he could manage was a slightly awkward, yet completely devoted "Hello.". Initially, as was this girl's way, she rejected the brazen Ciro. She called him a fool for stampeding through her school and drawing so much attention to her favourite rehearsal spot, before fiercely barged passed him and disappeared into the school. Ciro was certain he'd sensed some embarrassment and indignation from the girl. He also ignored her rejection, and returned again the next day, around the same time, desperately seeking her music. Fear gripped him; the alluring melodies of this girl could not be heard outside. He plunged head-long into the school once again, sprinting through the halls until, passing a heavy door into the music room, he caught a single whiff of a violin's note. Once more, he burst through the door and, once again, froze in place at the sight of her. Behind him, a sea of murmuring sprayed against his back. "Why's he so interested in the ice princess?" was the most common, youthful remark. Ciro had tasted the girl's scornful ice yesterday, but was unafraid of facing the furious blizzard of her words again. This time, Ciro managed to marshal his mind, and blurted out quite possibly the strangest, most foolhardy thing he could. "From the deepest reaches of my soul to the tips of my fingers, I am completely in love with you." The girl was, at first, dumbfounded. What do say to such a statement from a strange boy who, twice, has risked humiliation just to see you? Actually, the words came to her fairly quickly. "You're an idiot, a child, an infant. You're not in love with anything, and if you think you are then you have no idea what that word means. Get out of my way." Ciro froze. His unmitigated surge of burning emotional expression had been overwhelmed by a tempest of glacial words, and a coldness spread from his fingertips to the reaches of his soul he'd just divulged. She pushed passed his numb form and made for the door. In a chilled stupor, Ciro collapsed on a piano bench. Without realizing it, or meaning to, his frigid fingers spread across the keyboard, and composed a melody he'd never before imagined. He wasn't sure what it was about. He was certain it wasn't really a melody of love. Regardless of its meaning, the ice princess paused at the door, and turned to face him. Sealed Appearance: Spoiler Release Command: Rage (Gekido) Shikai Name: Savage Guardian Storm (Satsubatsu Hogosha Arashi) Shikai Appearance: An orb, about the size of a golf ball, a turbulent storm seems to cover the sphere as though it were a small, stormy planet. Shikai Abilities: Spoiler Coriolis: This is Ciro's one, and only ability. The orb's appearance is a foreshadowing of its abilities. The orb acts like a miniature planet, with a gravitational effect only effecting a radius of 10 feet around the orb (making its area of effect diameter 20 feet). The orb's "gravity" is only important when combined with its much more sinister ability. Anything caught within a 10 foot radius of the orb becomes trapped in its orbit, however, unlike a real planet, if the orb isn't spinning, nothing happens; everything continues as normal. However, when the orb starts to spin - it has a maximum spinning speed of 750 kilometers per hour - everything within a 10 foot radius, except for living beings with any spiritual power - which includes normal humans, even if they don't have very much - spins at exactly the same speed as the orb, creating what Ciro calls a "miniature Coriolis Storm", because the objects speed and direction of anything caught in orbit is magnified and affected by the rotation of the orb. So, for example, if the orb is hovering in mid air and begins to spin at its maximum velocity of 750 kilometers per hour, the air within a ten foot radius of the orb will will orbit the orb at 750 km/hour. The orb can also pick up dust/sand, fire, water, rocks, and other debris, and rotate them at this speed. The offensive potential of this ability is not the orb itself, but the speed at which it rotates. At 750 kilometers per hour, the wind alone is enough to tear flesh from bone. If the orb picks up water, dirt or sand, the sheer speed of its movement would dissolve solid metal. In essence, once it starts rotating, it becomes a death sphere 20 feet in diameter. The thing that can be caught up in the orbit of the orb are limited to: Cero/kidou energies, dust, sand, water, fire and environmental debris. Other forms of energy, such as light and sound, would not be caught up in the coriolis storm, however if they pass within the orb's area of effect, they will be altered purely by its gravitational pull (for example, light will bend around the orb). The orb is telepathically controlled by Ciro, but he really only has a few options on how to control it: He can start and stop it's spinning at will - when it stops spinning, the debris it has picked up will be flung outwards, sort of like an explosion. He can control the orb's movements (note: the orb moves around faster if he directs it with his hand) Lastly, he can choose whether or not to make the area of effect "hollow", which would allow him, or someone else to stand in the middle, with the debris flying around him/them like a shield - or a prison. However, if it is hollow, then whoever is inside it loses all ability to directly attack, as anything he/she fires at an enemy who is outside the spinning debris will be caught up in the orbit of the orb. This ability allows Ciro not only to shield himself or his allies, but it also allows him to isolate people. However, if he chooses not to make the sphere of spinning debris hollow, then it is completely filled with whirling debris. If he can alter spheres that have already been formed (ie, if he had an enemy trapped within a hollow sphere, he could then fill that sphere with more debris in order to kill that enemy). CK1: Bantanrukkumanako (All seeing eye) - Creates a small pocket watch that, when the caster says the name of a particular person, displays the distance of said person from the caster, the direction they're in, what they're seeing and their current status (alive, injured, etc.). It can only track the location of those on the same spiritual plane (ie, if you're the the human world it can't track someone in Hueco Mundo), and if the person is concealing themselves via kidou this won't be able to pinpoint their exact location. Beyond that, however, it is absolute, and remains active so long as the user still has energy and remains conscious.

She is often shy with new people, but lately she's been better at it and find mingling quite fun. The reason might be for the awkwardness in new conversations, cause other peoples misfortune is pretty much hilarious to Nora, unless they get physically hurt, that is. Due to her short growth, people often think she is younger and weaker than she really is. She has a strong sense of justice and sides with whoever she thinks is right at that point, not because they are "BFF's". One of her biggest weakness is probably chicken out of tricky situations at all costs. She'd rather worm herself out of a situation and let a team mate protect her, than face it. It Due to the events that had happened in San Fransisco really change his families views. Then time it happened was back when his grandparents were current residents in the area His father was born that year,thus he was still just a baby and would have no memory of what happened. What he does know was told to him ,which just seems up to be bloodshed,people screams all caused by non human beings with no sense of mercy. That and more he would later find would be from his mother would survived to tell the tale that her husband could not.It was a tragic blow that she never got over,and Anthony's father never seemed to let go. Since then they moved to other places,yet the hatred for all things spiritual only grew along with his father,who eventually met someone that shared the same type of tragical events. This turned out to be Anthonys and Cises mother who also had tragedy before her as well. They stayed together,and eventually married one another being the strong support they had both needed. Then 19 years ago they had their first child Anthony,who was just one of the two sons they would have 3 years later. He would learn as he got older about how the human world adapted and his father encourage him and his brother to learn the ways of self defense and fighting in hopes of supporting his views. Hoping to get revenge for both him and his wife killing those who destroyed part of his family. Yet Anthony saw that it was something beyond revenge and just came out as pure hatred along with many others. Anthony's mother was kind ,yet she couldn't help but agree and eventually his father hardened personality rubbed off on him. Though he could never feel the same hate as his sibling or parents,nobody would be able to tell.For most of the time he took up boxing for it was something that he could do without worry. The increase his melee ability first off. The Gloves cover his hands ,and stream down to his elbows as an extension for guard.The Shoes that mostly cover the soles of his feet give him greater mobility ,and ability to jump start faster.Also he is able to make punches at angles that others would struggle with.Even with the covering being thin,the gloves protect his hands.Also depending on the speed just a glance can almost cut like a knife. (They are weaker at first ,yet will grow over time,becoming better and learning how to use them in new ways.As he cant do them all right away) Fake Punch- Its like a faint,but can done more then once with each fist,and can be mixed in when he has real punches. So it can increase the hit chances,confuse,and strike fear into opponents. Energy Knuckle-Gathering his energy ,and pushing it out like a beam of bright light.Takes one turn to charge it as it is his energy that he uses. Force fist-Being that he is melee,there is this more that just using the power can push out a something in the size of his fist,just with force.Which is harder to see,and smaller unlike energy knuckle. 1 Ton punch- Planting his foot firmly in place and putting his weight and power into a punch for a hard,explosive ,and pressured punch. Precision punch-Though it takes away from the power,he can hit the same spot over and over for eventually it will leave a mark that will stay there and damage the area over time. Iron bars guard- Like a boxer does when in fights,he puts them in front (which are covered due to the Zanpaktou) Both arms are vertical like that of two iron bars. He hates those that do nothing with there potential. However at the same time he is a realist and will not try to save every one. He is also capable of planning ahead as well thanks to how he is calm. History: After the fall of San Francisco the UK was one of the few that resisted the take over by the SOF. They did this thanks to the technology they had gained in sectet due to research on spirit particles. Thanks to this they already new a lot about arrancars and managed to keep the UK and ireland safe for 30 years. Through all of that the research on spirits continued at a monstrous pace. The centers performing these studys were spread all over the UK, kept secret from every one. Entire families would live in them, never leaving. Ziusudra was one such child. Born of the two leading experts on spirit particle creation (mother) and the effect of spirit particals on humans (father) he grew up very shelted for the first 5 years of his life. Just before he was born the public had began to object to the harsh polices of the goverment due to their isolation from the rest of Europe and the world. This was because the UK had closed all borders 20 years erlier due to actions by the SOF. Ziusudra's parents were among those who objected and due to this they came under threat until they were foced to leave the UK while his mother was pregnant with him. They endded up in east France working with the SOF on a project to increase the spirit powers of a normal human. This continued for the first 5 years, however at this time they were testing the same technology used to attract hallows. This resulted in a huge massacre that decemated most of the center's staff including Ziusudra's mother. His father then took the two of them back to England where he had grown up, under a fake name. They were capable of doing this because only the year before the government of the UK was crushed due to rebellion. They moved to the city of brighton. There they remained for seven years till moving to London. That was when there problems began. At this time Ziusudra was 12 and new most of what had happend in his fathers past, this created a rift between them as the reason they moved was that people had been asking for help from them, because they had leaned a bit of his past as well and his father was refusing. This rift continued to grow bettween them to now and they rarely talk. This has also lead to Ziusudra's desire to join SOF and how he hates those who won't help others. Ice Mermaid will be able to change water into ice or ice into water. Condense vapor but cannot create steam. Raindrops - 雨滴 (Uteki) The zanpakuto allows Adrianna to make it rain within a 3 mile radius and make the surrounding area a suitable battlefield for her. This ability however is not needed when Amaya is near a water source. Whip - むち (Muchi) Whip-like Chains of water that can cut through the hardest rock or even solid steel. Maruyane no Umi (Water Dome) Creates a large ball of water that can be used to attack and to trap her opponent and drown him there in. Tobikomi (Dive) After releasing the Water Dome and trapping the opponent therein, Saying the release command would cause the pressure inside the dome to escalate into extremes enough to compress the lungs of the person trapped inside and have him writhe in pain. Rinkai (Critical Pressure) The water dome is pressurized and compressed into a much smaller sphere. Upon the user's whim, this sphere will rapidly depressurized, resulting in an explosion that can quite easily tear skin from bones. Agua Turns Adrianna into water form when in contact with a water source. With this she generally avoids any form of physical attacks (e.g. punches, sword slashes, bullets) as they just go through her. However, kido based attacks would affect her. In water form she can not add or subtract volume from her body. Sekka Yufu (Dancing Icicles) When Ice Mermaid is stabbed into the ground or on any surface, it sucks out the moisture and converts it into ice and then shoots it out as projectiles. If these projectiles stabbed into another surface they then proceed to suck out the moisture as well and shoot another rain of projectiles causing an endless cycle of icicles like they are dancing. Ice Wall - 氷壁 (Hyōheki) a huge burst of ice erupts from the point of contact between Ice Mermaid and the opponents, encasing and freezing them.
