"best" anime? (kinda long)

I have been searching around for decent animes to watch for these past couple of months. I watched, read, searched, browsed many websites, fourms and reviews. trying to find animes that will hopefully goes along with my standard. I then spent many many hours finishing all of them. Some of them were exciting, as i was told; some of them were not; some, i had a hard time even trying to finish them. If they were all 'recommended', why is this happening? Therefore I asked myself a serious question and thought about it for long period of time:

Does animes perform differently? Clearly not, anime is not a living thing, they dont change once they were made. nor between the time people watch them.

Then, would it be my way of thinking and seeing them, my judgment, my personality? I once had a hard time answering this one. However, No, i can clearfly this with certainty. One reason is the amount of animes i have seen, all of the different kinds. I start on a serie with the same mind and taste as all the others, even when i was told that such and such is good, or so and so is bad. I didnt care, I started watching them and rated them just i normally would to any others. I have no favor, nor do i hold a grunch against any.
The important thing is: I dont lie to myself, no matter how much i like the serie (Ex:ideas,storyline,music,characters,art,style,mea ning,ets), If the serie is no good, I would simply say it is no good, [but hey i like it tho]. I would just rate it as i do to all the other animes. If it deserves a C-, even if i like it, i will still give it a C-, no more no less. On the other hand, even when i hated a serie, if i can see that it was well made, well ploted, Giving it a high rating just as it deserves is what i would do. In otherword, i dont get emontionally involved. This is how i know, it isnt me who is the one choosing. * I did not intent to list any examples because viewers would claim that i based my arguement on them, which is not what this post is about

So the only thing left, are the recommendations. Are they truly relieable? I have read many similar post regrestless of ~~~ okay, which anime is the best?! I must agree and be thankful that there are a lot of helpful suggestions out there, they saved me tons of time without having to go through an entire serie only to find myself disappointment. However I must claim that not all the recommendations are worthful. For example, some would point out that a certain anime serie is amazing, yet did not realize that the anime he/she recommended is only one of the very Few animes he/she had ever seen. Or most often one would simply make a list of that person's favorite shows, then claim that they are the "best" animes without even pointing out what, why, or how so. I understand why people would or should support their favorite shows. Yet, when I see those replys, I often ask myself, how many of them truly understand the meaning of the question.

I came to a conclusion, that many many people base their judgment on their feeling, instead of Facts. Feelings can be changed through times, however, facts dont: What one think is good at this moment may not think so the next day, or next year. Kids watch cartoons not because cartoons are great, they watch them because they like cartoons, that is their feeling. when they grow up, that feeling is gone, they change, and no longer love cartoons (although very few still do) *The word cartoon here does not have the same meaning as the word anime. The movie Titanic(1997) was told to be one of the greatest romance movie. People say it is a good movie not becuase they like movies, they like it simply because they think the movie was good, even after 10 years, this fact doesnt change, people still love this movie. And that is the logic i wished to apply to everyone who watch animes, love animes, and support animes.
I well understood that this concept might be difficult to accept. Nor would it change much of what people are thinking nowdays. But perhaps I am just having a good time sharing my point of view to those that are like me, who enjoy good animes from beginning to end, and give it your own deeeep thoughts, fair and square.

Ah~~ Another thing!! i would like any anime lovers who.... have seen at least 20 series of any type of animes to name ONE, just one, serie that he/she thinks is the "best". If you are willing to use the concept above, that would be even better~ Once again thank you, counting on yall!!

my most fav show it Katekyo Himan Reborn!!! It is the best,you should try it!!ok now i read your post up there i suggest you read up the storyline before you watch any anime thats what i do so i don't have to watch animes i don't like!!!

After watching enough anime, nothing tops the first season of Death Note.

I agree wit this guy ketekyo hitman reborn is aweosme. It has like 90 episodes right now very good storyline

Ive seen way more then 20 anime
the reason i enjoy anime is because i love stories and since anime really is just animated storyies im probably never going to quit watching anime or cartoons either in fact

of all the anime i have watched One Piece is by far may fav, it so far has 350+ episodes with no real site in it ending anytime in aleast the next 10 years and it fills my love of a long story

one piece does rock, i wish outlaw star and cowboy bebop and trigun were longer! All those shows kick ass and would have gained a bigger following if they continued them. I really do miss spike
